I'm once again curious what was being debugged

There were issues with fast colliders: they didn't clear the texture based ground on passing. For example, 0:04.

Constantly blown away by your work, amazing job!

you are reinventing noita ok but actually this is very cool

As someone making a game with 3d water sim being the central part I'm so jealous of those who do something similar in 2d... What's the simulation underneath, pb-mpm or something different?

I started with 3D, but switched to 2d to test a few things, like SDF based rendering. But this 2d version grew out of control being much easier to work on. For fluid I use pic+flip method, for particles - simple euler step, and that hard crust is a texture based collider.

Totally understandable. I use simpler method for particles like foam as well. Thx for the explanation!

Very cool 😎. Amazing work

you could make one hell of a fantasy chemistry game if you made certain cell types become others when under the right conditions/mixtures

Yea, slowly getting there.

This is all wildly impressive, been watching these for a long time. Super cool

you need to add enormous amounts of heat energy from friction. is temperature modelled here?

The temperature is modelled, but friction -> temperature is not yet implemented. Also, heat is not transferred. Though, I plan to implement these things.

ah if you have temperature already modelled you certainly should!

Venus did this.

Sick!

nice physics effect.

Progrss looking great man!!!

That's INSANE dude

That massive ball going through the planet should create a hydrostatic shock sufficient to break apart the crust. Would be delightful to see.

Yea, I expected that also. But fluid solver doesn't reach incompressibility due to optimization, so it dumpened the force.

How many particles / what hardware is it running on / what's the frametime?

I don't remember. But fps is good, I made maybe 50% of decision in favor of performance. This game will run comfortably on cards like 3060

so cool!

Do materials change phase under pressure?

Not yet, but soon they will be.

Coule be a cool planet vs pla et strategy game where they gotta not only shoot each other, but change weather, water levels and do geological hell Or counter the aforementioned

This looks like a lot of fun! Keep up the good work. 🫡

Heyyyy zolden Missed you on my TL

Which engine/lang.?

Unity, c#, hlsl

If i where to implment this fluid physicds in godot, what things do you recommend?

Compute everything on GPU, that's the main requirement. Besides, all the algorithms are known.

Dude this never gets old. Amazing

My goodness this is great! (where patrick)

awesome! ...now 2 planets colliding ;-)

i love this sort of stuff. looks awesome
