Smart Remesh 2.1.7, on the way.... ** Cloth Remeshing ** coming soon.... Cloth Remesh · Progress 01: As I continue posting about cloth remeshing, I want to share some of the challenges I faced during development, as well as how I approached and solved them. This is Part 1. Remeshing clothing is more challenging than remeshing most other types of 3D models. Because clothing contains folds, wrinkles, and complex surface forms, it is very important to preserve as much detail as possible throughout the remeshing process. Standard methods that work well for organic models don't always give good results here, because they often require a much higher polygon count to preserve those details properly. To address this, I decided to use the garment's existing UV layout as part of the remeshing process. Each UV island is remeshed independently, and once the process is complete, all of the parts are combined back into a single mesh. This approach helps achieve better detail preservation with a lower polygon count, while also making the remeshing process faster and producing a more acceptable final result. #blender #b3d

If you're working with mirrored geometry in Blender, you can offset the UVs easily by going into the Data dropdown in the mirror modifier and set the U Offset to 1 and then apply the modifier. This is essential for texturing and baking properly without issue!

Some of y’all will eat a $9 slice of chocolate cake made with ingredients you can’t pronounce…but BLACK BEANS are where you suddenly develop standards? 😆 Before anybody calls the police, the beans replace the flour and give the cake a soft, moist texture. It still tastes like chocolate cake. Nobody at the table has to know unless you enjoy ruining a perfectly good surprise. BLACK BEAN CHOCOLATE CAKE 🎂🍫 Ingredients: • 1 can Goode Foods Black Beans, drained and rinsed • 3 large eggs • ½ cup sugar • ⅓ cup melted butter or oil • ½ cup cocoa powder • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1 teaspoon baking powder • ½ teaspoon baking soda • Pinch of salt • Chocolate frosting Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8-inch cake pan. 2. Blend the black beans, eggs, sugar, melted butter and vanilla until completely smooth. 3. Add the cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Blend again until combined. 4. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. 5. Let the cake cool completely before frosting. Make two layers and stack them if you’re trying to cause a little family drama. Now be honest…are you trying one slice or calling the authorities? 💯

When deforming text in #blender, the result can often appear stretched & distressed. Quickly Fix it by adding a Remesh modifier, set it to Sharp, untick Remove Disconnected and increase the Octree Depth. Be careful of high geometry though! #b3d

okay! my whole pipeline for getting fable and sol to be able to 3d model good topology hard surface game models without using any additional paid services is WORKING... we just need to dial in their lowpoly geometry and baking techniques some more, the pipeline is images > trellis > model creates the lowpoly themselves with direct headless blender interaction > bake ... this will work with both of them because you can replace sol's gptimage2 imagegen in fable's version with z-image-turbo or another quality local image model
