Reckless Driver Arrested After Eluding Police Across Redmond; Drone Program Helps Track Vehicle Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the early morning hours of April 23 after noticing it had no license plates. The individual was arrested for eluding a police vehicle and further investigated for DUI. The driver was under the legal drinking age, and an open alcoholic beverage was found inside the vehicle. While en route, our officers learned that a suspect had previously kicked in the door to the occupied residence earlier in the night, and had now returned, trying to reenter the home, but couldn't... Maybe he started to panic when he heard our sirens approaching quickly. 🚔 What's worse is he was possibly armed with a shotgun. Two people ran from the vehicle and one immediately surrendered at the vehicle. The driver, who was also the main suspect of the burglary, was caught after a foot chase that tested everyone’s cardio. The passenger who ran was also captured, but his route was considerably shorter. After he was arrested in Dallas on May 30 for allegedly driving without a valid license, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, a suspect in Texas decided to take the police wheel into his own hands. The incident happened after the suspect secretly removed his left hand from his handcuffs. When officers began driving to jail, the suspect attempted to open the squad car's rear door, prompting the officers to get out of the car, and eventually climbed into the driver’s seat and took off. One of the officers managed to jump into the backseat of the vehicle. That officer then attempted to stop the suspect by tasing him and striking him on the side of the head with his firearm. The suspect opened the driver’s side door and jumped out after driving what police said was a distance of about 1,000 feet. At that point, the police officer was able to regain control of the patrol car, and the suspect was given medical assistance before being taken back into custody, where he faces numerous charges.

Teen suspect takes officers on foot chase only to make action movie style escape by jumping in a getaway car. Officers pulled a vehicle over at a Valero gas station in Cleveland, Ohio. Before they could even make contact with the driver, both the driver and the passenger exited the car. When ordered to stop, a teenage suspect decided to make a run for it, sparking a high-speed foot chase through the surrounding streets. As the officer pursued the suspect on foot, the driver of the original vehicle did something incredibly bold—they circled the block and pulled right up next to the fleeing suspect. Turns out hiding under a trampoline isn't much of a plan when we've got eyes in the sky… Just before 11 p.m. last Friday, our officers received a Flock Safety alert on a stolen Hyundai Tucson traveling through Aurora. With real-time updates from our Real Time Information Center (RTIC), officers safely tracked the vehicle before deploying a Grappler to bring it to a controlled stop near Montview Boulevard and Iola Street. That's when everyone decided to make a run for it. All in different directions. But we had the manpower for that. Two juvenile passengers were quickly taken into custody after short foot pursuits. The driver had a different idea. After hopping multiple fences, he crawled underneath a backyard trampoline hoping officers wouldn't find him. Unfortunately for him, our drone was still watching. Officers immediately established a perimeter while RTIC and our drone team guided officers on the ground. Working alongside our K9 Unit, the driver was located and taken into custody without incident. A search of the stolen vehicle also uncovered a firearm and spent shell casings. The 18-year-old driver was arrested on probable cause of motor vehicle theft, obstructing a peace officer, second degree criminal trespass and driving while revoked. Two juvenile passengers were also arrested on probable cause including motor vehicle trespassing and obstructing a peace officer. Both also had outstanding warrants. On March 16, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Dallas Police officers assigned to the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force located a vehicle that was reported stolen in an armed carjacking on March 15. The officers called for additional units and AIR-1 to maintain visual contact with the vehicle before attempting a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Greenville Avenue. As officers approached and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, the car took off, and the officers immediately began to pursue it. With AIR-1 overhead, the suspect drove the wrong way down Greenville Avenue, and officers chased the driver onto I-635 with the suspect’s speed approaching 120 miles per hour. The suspect exited the freeway at Jupiter Road and continued to speed through residential areas. Because the helicopter was tracking the suspect, officers were able to safely navigate the residential areas and surface streets, following the suspect back onto I-635. The suspect sped through a construction zone, again reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour until he exited on Town East Boulevard and headed into the City of Mesquite, driving into oncoming traffic into the 2000 block of Town East Boulevard. With traffic building ahead, the suspect attempted to drive over the median and his vehicle became disabled. Dallas Police officers, assisted by officers from Mesquite and deputies from the Dallas Sheriff’s Office, took the suspect into custody. He was identified as 46-year-old Alfredo Hernandez and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony; Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, a third-degree felony; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony; and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, a third-degree felony. •Gauteng Traffic Officer faces criminal charges following heated confrontation with Ekurhuleni Metro Police A police officer from the Gauteng Traffic Police is facing criminal charges after being captured on cell phone video during a heated argument with Ekurhuleni metro police officers. A case of intimidation, common assault, grievous bodily harm, defeating the ends of justice, and interfering with police duties has been opened against the officer. The male traffic officer is seen swearing and making obscene gestures at a female EMPD officer, calling them illiterate and a clown. He also told the EMPD officers that he would take the pension fund of the EMPD officials. The EMPD officials had stopped a female motorist, who then called the traffic officer to assist her. The motorist was driving a vehicle with a foreign number plate. The EMPD officers had to stop the vehicle for inspection when the woman motorist reached out to the Gauteng Traffic officer, who came running. Upon arriving at the scene, the Gauteng Traffic officer started insulting the officers and interfering with the duties of the metro police in Ekurhuleni. This prompted the Member of the Mayoral Committee of Community (MMC) for Safety, Sizakele Masuku, to condemn the incident. MMC Masuku condemned the intimidation of the EMPD officers by a Gauteng Traffic Police member. It is alleged that this is not the first incident of this nature involving this Gauteng Traffic officer, and more preliminary investigations are underway. The MMC further reiterated that no officer is above the law and such behavior is unacceptable. She called on officers to uphold all the rules of law. The so-called "Super Sheriff" of Gauteng will not stop the work of the EMPD or intimidate its officers. “He is not the best cop ever because a law enforcement officer would never conduct himself in such an unlawful manner. A case of intimidation, common assault, grievous bodily harm, defeating the ends of justice, and interfering with police duties has been opened against the officer. The male traffic officer is seen swearing and making obscene gestures at a female EMPD officer, calling them illiterate and a clown. He also told the EMPD officers that he would take the pension fund of the EMPD officials. The EMPD officials had stopped a female motorist, who then called the traffic officer to assist her. The motorist was driving a vehicle with a foreign number plate. The EMPD officers had to stop the vehicle for inspection when the woman motorist reached out to the Gauteng Traffic officer, who came running. Upon arriving at the scene, the Gauteng Traffic officer started insulting the officers and interfering with the duties of the metro police in Ekurhuleni. This prompted the Member of the Mayoral Committee of Community (MMC) for Safety, Sizakele Masuku, to condemn the incident. MMC Masuku condemned the intimidation of the EMPD officers by a Gauteng Traffic Police member. It is alleged that this is not the first incident of this nature involving this Gauteng Traffic officer, and more preliminary investigations are underway. The MMC further reiterated that no officer is above the law and such behavior is unacceptable. She called on officers to uphold all the rules of law. The so-called "Super Sheriff" of Gauteng will not stop the work of the EMPD or intimidate its officers. “He is not the best cop ever because a law enforcement officer would never conduct himself in such an unlawful manner. Our duty is to enforce the law. The Super Sheriff is not above the law." MMC Masuku said the Gauteng Traffic official has two previous cases of assault which are under investigation. They fled in a white Cadillac Escalade with a black hood and blocked plates, eastbound on Yorkshire as the first officers arrived on scene around 1:25 a.m. The vehicle was initially lost, but a SPPD officer found it again, eastbound on 7th Street toward Montreal Avenue. The officer initiated a pursuit, and the suspect driver fled at speeds around 80 mph, eastbound on 7th, then onto Osceola Avenue before making it onto northbound I-35E from Grand Avenue, with speeds reported in excess of 100 mph. The suspect continued northbound on I-35E and exited at Maryland Avenue E., where officers successfully deployed stopsticks to deflate the tires. Both the driver and passenger then bailed on foot near Maryland Avenue E. & Ruth Street N. Officers deployed a Taser to take one of the suspects into custody and the other was in cuffs by around 1:45 a.m., with the stolen tires recovered and en route back to their owner. Off duty officer had to chase shoplifter though the store only to get sprayed as the criminal makes their escape. ​An off-duty police officer working security at a department store was alerted to an active shoplifting incident. The officer confronted a female suspect near the exit doors as she attempted to leave with a large bag of unpurchased merchandise. When the officer tried to detain her, a struggle ensued. The suspect broke free, ran through the store aisles, and fled into the parking lot. ​The officer pursued the suspect to a parked white sedan. As he attempted to pull her from the driver’s seat to place her under arrest, the woman produced a can of pepper spray and sprayed the officer This allowed her to put the vehicle in reverse, navigate out of the space, and flee the scene.
