One thing I did see today that was quite stunning: the union who represents the correctional officers came out and said this conduct was “reprehensible.” I’m glad to see even the police union come out and say, “no this is wrong,” but I still question if and how much the union knew of any prior misconduct from these officers. The way they went about beating this man to death strongly suggests this wasn’t their first time doing this. I’ll be very curious if AG James subpoenas any prior information or actions the union may have taken on their behalf.
