A diesel tanker overturned and burst into flames on Sunday afternoon at Iyana-Isolo along the Apapa–Oshodi Expressway, sparking panic and heavy traffic. The tanker, which reportedly suffered brake failure, collided with a commercial bus before toppling into a gutter and exploding. The driver and his companion suffered varying degrees of injury. Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA, LASTMA, and police, quickly moved in to contain the fire and restore order.

The Government has approved an eastern coast railway project forming part of the Howrah–Chennai High Density Network. The corridor spans from Kolkata through Odisha covering Balasore, Bhadrak, Jakhapura, Haridaspur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda and Berhampur, and extends into Andhra Pradesh through Naupada, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam up to Vijayawada and Chennai. This stretch is being developed as a four lined corridor to ease congestion and improve connectivity.
