⚽️ This is a switching play to create practice from drill library. This drill focuses on developing fluid attacking combinations in wide areas, emphasizing quick interplay and effective switching of play. Three players will work together in a wide zone, combining through quick passes and movement to create space... and destabilize the defense. After establishing the combination, the attacking team switches the ball rapidly to the opposite wide area to exploit space and prepare for a crossing opportunity. Once the ball is switched, the wide player delivers a cross into the box where three attackers coordinate their runs to finish the move unopposed. The drill encourages timing, communication, and precise execution of combination play and crossing to create high-quality scoring chances.show more

Ajax training this week featured this Combination Passing Practice: Up Back Through Variation Practice Description This technical combination practice is designed to develop passing quality, positional awareness, timing of movement and communication. The outside players will always complete two passes around the outside before transferring the ball through the central area (Adapt as it progresses). As the ball enters the middle, the two central players combine using an up back through pattern. Both central players must continually assess the movement of the ball, adjust their positioning and prepare early to receive. Play is limited to one or two touches to encourage efficient ball circulation. Following the central combination, the player who sets the ball rotates into the outside position. The player who initially passes into the central area moves inside to continue the sequence. Coaching Points • Maintain concentration throughout the practice • Scan regularly and adjust position as the ball travels • Communicate early and clearly • Create appropriate angles and distances of support • Receive with an open body position where possible • Play firm, accurate passes with the correct weight • Set the ball into the path of the supporting player • Time movements to maintain the rhythm of the sequence • Rotate positions quickly and efficiently • Maintain technical quality while working at a high tempo Save this post and follow us for more. DB Tennis Ball Release Drill - This drill is suitable as a first activity of the day or can be utilized as a filler drill. - Defensive backs must maintain a natural arms-length distance from the receiver to protect their space. - Proper spacing is critical because allowing a receiver to get too close provides them the opportunity to push or use a flipper move. - The drill requires a combination of great footwork and precise eye placement. - Players should focus on a quick and violent punch of the tennis ball rather than trying to catch it. - The punch should be shot from the shoulders to simulate the correct contact point on a receiver. 🧠 One of Milan's best attacking patterns from the derby. 🔴⚫ Milan create a ball oriented overload around Modrić, drawing multiple Inter defenders towards the ball. ⚡ Quick one touch combinations and intelligent dribbling allow them to escape the pressure before switching play to the free man. 🎯 Saelemaekers is left isolated with plenty of space to attack. A better final delivery and this could easily have ended in a clear cut chance. #ACMilan #InterMilan #SerieA #FootballAnalysis #TacticalAnalysis

LB Tackle In Space Drill - The drill utilizes a reverse L-shaped setup with cones to force linebackers to work around obstacles while approaching a ball carrier in space. - A critical component of the drill is for the linebacker to aggressively close the distance between themselves and the offensive player before making contact. - Coaches should emphasize that elite linebackers must keep their hips and shoulders square upon contact to maintain leverage and power. - Players should avoid crossing their feet or "sitting in a chair" when approaching the tackle; instead, they must break down efficiently and maintain active feet through the strike. - The drill concludes by mimicking speed tackling techniques, where the defender focuses on getting to the hip and rolling through the finish. - This specific tackling progression is integrated into the regular season routine, with live tackling drills performed at least once a week to maintain sharp fundamentals. LB Search & Destroy Drill - The search and destroy drill is highly effective for linebackers when actions inside the box are cloudy or unclear. - Coaches can choose to have players either shuffle or use a crossover step to move from their starting point to the cone. - A primary emphasis of the drill is to ensure the linebacker keeps their shoulders, hips, and feet square once they reach the cone. - Linebackers must avoid crossing over their feet when making contact with the ball carrier. - The drill should be executed at a thud tempo during the teaching phase so both the linebacker and the ball carrier can feel the movement, with the ball carrier waiting to make a decision until the linebacker reaches the cone. - The drill is excellent for young linebackers to learn how to match the path of the running back and track where he is going, rather than just running blindly through gaps. ⚽️ CHELSEA FC POSITIONAL 4v4v4 Under Xabi Alonso at the weekend. A positional possession practice from Chelsea Football Club, designed to develop one of the most important principles in possession: creating effective angles of support around the ball. 🔵 PRACTICE DETAIL When a team has possession, players adopt a designated positional structure within each zone. Players are positioned on either side of the area, along the end line and with one central player operating inside each zone. This structure challenges players to recognize how their positioning can create passing lines, support the player on the ball and provide opportunities to play through, around or beyond pressure. Out of possession players are free to press anywhere within the practice area. The focus then shifts towards compactness, communication and coordinated collective pressure. 🎯 SCORING Teams score one point by completing the required number of consecutive passes. 🧠 COACHING POINTS 🔹 Create clear angles of support around the ball 🔹 Adjust positioning as the ball moves 🔹 Scan before receiving 🔹 Receive with an open body shape where possible 🔹 Move the ball quickly to exploit available space 🔹 Press collectively and remain compact out of possession 🔹 React immediately when possession changes 💡 COACHING FOCUS The positioning of the players away from the ball has a major influence on the options available to the player in possession. The central player becomes particularly important in helping the team connect different areas, play through pressure and create additional angles around the ball. Like and save this post for more. Perfect 1v1 Drill For Finding Your LOCKDOWN Defenders! Coach LoGalbo takes you through a drill that is perfect for finding your lockdown defenders that you can rely on when the lights turn on. As Nick LoGalbo says, it's a great way to find your "Rambo" which is a defender that you can rely on to defend your opponent’s best ball handler in the full court. And, an added offensive benefit to this drill, is that it allows for offensive players to work on their ball handling in the face of defensive pressure! This 1 on 1 Contain Drill is from Nick LoGalbo's Outer Third Defense (No Middle Defense). That's why the goal of this basketball drill is to force the opponent's primary ball handlers to the outer thirds of the basketball court (and out of the middle!) as soon as they catch the ball. By doing this, it allows the defense to dictate the entry pass to one side of the floor. By keeping the ball on the outer third of the basketball court, you can overload the backside of the defense which helps control the opponents passing lanes, deters easy passes and helps eliminate the dribble drive. You can incorporate this drill every other day in practice to re-emphasize to your defenders the importance of keeping the ball handlers out of the middle of the basketball court. Instructions and Keys to the 1 on 1 Contain Drill: - Give the ball handler a cushion. This makes it easier to contain them in the outer thirds. - Chest and contest a crossover to the middle. You do not turn your body. You must beat the offensive player to the spot and turn them back to the outer thirds. - If you get beat, you sprint ahead of the ball. You do not continue shuffling. - Keep the ball in the outer thirds the entire length of the court. It does not stop after the offensive player gets past half court. - The goal of the drill is to simply keep the ball handler in the outer thirds. - The defense should focus on beating the ball to the spot and chest to contest defense. - As soon as the first group gets to halfcourt, the second group begins. - After a group makes it all the way to the opposite baseline, they switch positions and get in line to repeat the drill going the opposite direction. Coaching Tips - Once a player gets chest to contest, they must spring back to get in front of the ball. Your goal is not to be running side by side. You must get in front of the offensive player. This prevents the offensive player from getting an angle to the basket. - After running through the drill for a specified amount of time, switch directions so the offensive players must focus on using both hands as their primary dribbling hand. - It is important to mix up players rather than like positions always competing against each other, so that players get used to guarding a wide variety of positions. It forces the players to adjust defensively regarding speed and skill. - Another positive of this drill is it gives you the ability to assess who your Rambo is: players who can work the point guard up the floor.

QB Pat N Go Screen Drill - Every player in the program should be trained on the screen game, specifically focusing on keeping their eyes on the corner during the fast screen. - Receivers must execute a hard step, catch the ball, and immediately work to the sideline while maintaining a distance of five yards. - The drill follows a specific four-part progression that includes the short fade, hard slant, quick screen, and fast screen to build a rhythm for the offense. - Ball security is critical; players must tuck the ball as fast as possible into the outside arm and keep it high and tight. - For the bubble screen portion, players are coached to gain two to three yards of both width and depth during the route. - This rapid-fire drill is designed to maximize individual instruction time for quarterbacks, allowing them to get a high volume of throws in a short period. Eze could’ve saved Arsenal from spending huge on a LW this season if he could lock in. He has all the attributes Arsenal need from a LW — Ability to dribble cleanly in wide and central areas, ability to manipulate compact block with his tight space ability, creativity and vision to execute passes from wide areas, ability cut in and strike the ball. The only thing missing is elite mentality, poor work application and lack of willingness to improve his game OOP
