Sauerkraut: Nature’s Probiotic Powerhouse! 🥬✨ Ingredients: - 1 medium head of green cabbage (about 2-3 pounds) - 1-3 tablespoons of non-iodized salt (such as sea salt or kosher salt) Instructions: 1. **Prepare the Cabbage**: - Remove any damaged outer leaves of the cabbage, then cut the cabbage into quarters and remove the core. - Slice the cabbage finely using a knife, mandoline, or food processor. 2. Mix with Salt: - Place the shredded cabbage in a large bowl and sprinkle the salt over it. - Massage the salt into the cabbage for about 5-10 minutes until it starts to release its juices. 3. Pack the Cabbage: - Transfer the cabbage mixture into your fermentation container, packing it tightly as you go. Make your own brine ( 1 cup of filter water+ 1 tbsp of sea salt) if you don’t have enough juice to cover the entire jar. - Leave some space at the top (about an inch) to allow for expansion during fermentation. 4. Add Weight or use a whole cabbage leave to tuck it in - Place a weight on top or the cabbage leave on top to keep it submerged in its own brine. If using a jar, fill it with water to add weight. 5. Cover: - Cover the container with a cloth or loose lid to allow gases to escape while preventing dust and contaminants from entering. 6. Ferment : - Store the container in a cool, dark place (ideally around 65-72°F or 18-22°C) for 1 to 4 weeks. - Check the sauerkraut periodically, pressing down on the weight if necessary to keep the cabbage submerged. 7. **Taste and Store**: - Begin tasting the sauerkraut after a week. Once it reaches your desired taste and tanginess, transfer it to the refrigerator to slow down the fermentation process. Notes: - The longer you ferment, the tangier the sauerkraut will become. - Always use clean utensils when handling the sauerkraut to avoid contamination.

New research is confirming what Hippocrates declared over 2,000 years ago: All disease begins in the gut. And this is especially true for the modern epidemic of autoimmune conditions. A pivotal study from Harvard's Dr. Hollon and Dr. Fasano revealed a startling finding: consuming wheat causes microscopic tears in the gut lining of every human—not just those with Celiac disease. The gut lining regenerates rapidly, healing these tears every 3-7 days. For years, the cycle continues: you eat, it damages, it heals. But the constant assault from modern dietary triggers—refined grains, sugar, GMOs, and artificial ingredients—creates chronic inflammation. Eventually, the system breaks. The gut loses its ability to heal, leading to a condition known as pathogenic intestinal permeability, or "Leaky Gut." This is the critical tipping point. When the gut barrier remains compromised, undigested food particles (like gluten and casein), toxins, and bacteria leak directly into the bloodstream. The body launches a relentless immune attack against these foreign invaders. This systemic inflammation, if left unchecked, can target the body's own tissues: • Targeting the joints → Rheumatoid Arthritis • Targeting the thyroid → Hashimoto's • Targeting the colon → Crohn's Disease • Targeting the muscles → Fibromyalgia The path to autoimmunity is clear: it starts in the gut lining. The solution is equally clear: remove the triggers. The transformative power of an elimination diet, removing inflammatory foods like gluten, dairy, and sugar, is not just theoretical. Look no further than Novak Djokovic. By identifying and eliminating these foods, he catapulted from the middle of the pack to becoming the undisputed #1, a testament to how healing the gut can unlock peak performance and health. The message is undeniable: if you are dealing with any chronic inflammatory or autoimmune condition, your journey to healing must begin by addressing the integrity of your gut.

Tongue diagnosis explained Stick out your tongue right now. If you see a white coating, scalloped edges, or it’s bright red, your gut is screaming for help. Here’s what each sign means. In functional medicine, we use tongue diagnosis to assess gut health instantly. Your tongue is a direct window into what’s happening in your digestive tract. Here are the 5 tongue signs that reveal gut problems: Number 1 – White coating on your tongue means candida overgrowth. That’s yeast taking over your mouth and gut, feeding on sugar and causing brain fog and fatigue. Number 2 – Scalloped edges—where you can see teeth marks on the sides—means you’re not absorbing nutrients properly. Your body is swollen and inflamed from gut dysfunction. Number 3 – Bright red tongue indicates severe inflammation and possible B vitamin deficiencies. Your gut isn’t producing or absorbing the vitamins your body needs. Number 4 – Geographic tongue—patches that look like a map—signals food sensitivities and leaky gut. Your immune system is reacting to foods leaking through your gut barrier. Number 5 – Thick yellow coating means bacterial overgrowth and poor digestion. Your stomach acid is too low to break down food, so bacteria are fermenting it instead. When you fix your gut, your tongue clears up within 2-4 weeks. It’s one of the fastest visual confirmations that your protocol is working.Take a photo of your tongue today. Eliminate sugar and gluten for 14 days. Add a probiotic and digestive enzymes. Take another photo in 2 weeks and compare.Go look at your tongue right now in the mirror. Which of these 5 signs do you have?

🔥 Fire Cider 🔥 Now is the time to start preparing your remedies so they’ll be ready for cold and flu season! Fire cider is a powerful immune-boosting, digestive-supporting, energy-giving, circulation-stimulating, respiratory-clearing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant tonic. Here's my recipe for fire cider using a half-gallon mason jar: Ingredients: - 1 red onion 🧅 - 1 large orange 🍊 - 1 lemon 🍋 - 1 head of garlic 🧄 - 2 ½ jalapeños 🌶 - ½ tsp cayenne pepper 🌶 - 1 tsp peppercorns - 10 cloves - 1 bunch of rosemary 🌿 - 1 bunch of thyme 🌱 - 1 handful of ginger 🫚 - ½ tsp turmeric - 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks - Organic, raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (ACV). If you can’t find this, use any apple cider vinegar you have access to. Instructions: 1. Chop your produce and add it to your mason jar as you go. 🍶 2. Add the rosemary, thyme, peppercorns, dried cayenne peppers, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. 3. Fill your jar to the top with ACV. 🍎 4. Place a sheet of parchment paper between the jar and the lid to prevent the ACV from corroding the metal lid. If using a plastic lid, you can skip this step. 5. Let your fire cider sit on the counter or in the pantry for 4-6 weeks, gently shaking it daily. 🕰 6. Open the lid every couple of days to check the level of your ACV. If it’s not filled to the top, add more ACV. 7. After 4-6 weeks, strain the mixture and squeeze all the cider from the produce. 8. Optionally, add honey 🍯, maple syrup 🍁, agave, or your preferred sweetener. You can take a tablespoon each morning 🌞 or use it when you’re feeling under the weather, taking it 2-3 times a day. 🌿💧

2023 is the International Year of Millets! Foxtail millet is one of the oldest millets in the world and was an important source of food for early human civilizations. In fact, foxtail millet is referred to in some ancient texts, such as the Yajurveda. Grown in semi-arid regions, it has a short growing season, requiring minimal water and can be planted even when it’s too late to plant other crops. High in iron content, it helps promote good cardiac health and helps control blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Full recipe below: Foxtail Millet Upma Ingredients 1 cup foxtail millet 2 tbsp ghee or oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 big capsicum, finely chopped 3-4 chopped tomatoes 1 tbsp ginger, grated 1 carrot, finely chopped ½ cup peas, fresh or frozen ½ cup green beans, finely chopped 2 cups water Salt for taste ¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped Method: Dry roast the millets over a low flame for 4-5 mins and then soak in water for 2-3 hours. Rinse the millet in several changes of water until the water runs clear. In a saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and cook until they begin to sizzle. Add the chopped tomatoes, chopped capsicum, ginger and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the carrot, peas, and green beans and cook covered for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables are slightly softened. Add the foxtail millet to the saucepan and stir it in with the vegetables and salt. Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the millet is tender. Stir in the chopped coriander leaves. Serve the upma hot, garnished with additional coriander, if needed. Food and Agriculture Organization International Year Of Millets 2023 #IYM2023 #YearOfMillets #SaveSoil

It makes two giant servings at 215 cals and 25g protein each and it’s SO good. Healthy desserts like this have been the game changer in keeping me on track during my 150lb weight loss journey - this is my fav one, and so good if you love chocolate and have a sweet tooth. Can you taste the cottage cheese? NO! Here is how I made it: Ingredients: 2 servings blended cottage cheese (about half a 16oz tub) 2 large eggs 3-4 tbsp powdered monkfruit (or sweetener of choice) 2.5-3 tbsp cacao powder (I use 3.5 tbsp for a richer taste) Splash of vanilla extract Optional: a sprinkle of chocolate chips Optional: Powdered Peanut butter and 1 tbsp crushed peanuts for the frosting 1️⃣ Process or blend 8oz cottage cheese in a small food processor until smooth and transfer to an oven-safe dish. 2️⃣ Crack in the eggs 3️⃣ Add the cacao powder (adjust for desired darkness). I like richer so I add more, but do what works for you. 4️⃣ Add 3-4 tbsp powdered monkfruit or preferred sweetener. 5️⃣ Add a splash of vanilla extract & mix thoroughly with a fork till no clumps. 6️⃣ Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, if desired, and add 1 to 2 tsp peanut butter inside. To make this lower calorie, skip the peanut butter here and just top it with the lower calorie pb frosting below. For the lower calorie peanut butter frosting mix 1-2 tbsp powdered peanut butter with 1-2 tbsp water or almond milk and 1 tsp powdered monkfruit. I promise, it’s just as good! 7️⃣ Pop it into the oven and bake at 350°F for 32 minutes. 8️⃣ Remove, let cool for 2 minutes, then top with the lower calorie pb drizzle, some crushed peanuts, and enjoy!
