When Vikram-1 reaches space, the payload fairing needs to split apart and fall away cleanly, protecting the satellite on the way up, then getting out of the way when its job is done. The final pre-flight separation test on flight hardware confirms the pneumatic separation system is a stable, proven design. Next stop: Sriharikota. 🚀 #Vikram1 #SkyrootAerospace #SpaceTech

🇷🇺 Russia’s Yakovlev makes another fully domestic passenger plane, a Yakovlev MC-21. These planes were developed with many Russian parts pre 2022, but now Yak reworked the model and swapped everything for Russian parts. The aircraft had its imported components and systems replaced with Russian ones. The procedure of swapping every part of a plane for domestic components is extremely complex, as this has not been done before. Usually you iterate on a plane part by part, not doing such a big bang change. This procedure includes replacement of the cockpit controls, control system drives, wing mechanization movement system and stabilizer adjustment mechanism, avionics complex, integrated air conditioning system, integrated system for collecting, monitoring, processing, and recording flight information, wheel braking system, main and auxiliary power units, fuel system, wheels, tires, and more. The plant workers, together with specialists from the flight test and refinement complex of PJSC "Yakovlev," are checking the fuel system, start-up and operation of the auxiliary power unit and main engines, as well as testing of the aircraft's systems and equipment with the engines running. Frequency tests of the landing gear systems and integrated control system were also carried out on the aircraft. 1/

My parents took me to IAD for the first time sometime in the 80’s as a child. It had such a profound effect on my life and back then, the airport was basically surrounded by farmland. It goes together with the photo below, one of my favorite airlines which Lufthansa and one of my favorite movies which is DC Cab. Finnish architect Eero Saarinen was hired as the architect of the main terminal. It’s iconic and I get excited every time I fly into this airport as it’s my first time even to this day. ❤️

She works every angle perfectly, knowing exactly when to push and when to hold back. Had Joffrey survived the Purple Wedding, she likely would’ve had a hand in nearly every decision he made.
