Zelensky promises to destroy Russian missile launchers: "Together with our partners, we must create our own national air defense system. Today in Ivano-Frankivsk, the final stage of selection for the national Tysiachovesna initiative is taking place. A total of 1,227 projects made it to the final. That is an amazing number. And this number proves that all of our Ukrainian art can become an even greater force. The results of the first Tysiachovesna will now be extremely important: which projects will be created with state support, how they will be received by Ukrainian viewers, listeners, and all our people – the people Tysiachovesna is for. Will Ukrainians in general be interested in this? Will this become a strong voice for Ukraine in the world? This is very important to us, especially in wartime. I believe we will succeed. And exactly one year from now, we will not only be summing up the dry statistics of the first Tysiachovesna through projects that have already been brought to life – we will be talking about the triumphs of our cinema, animation, theater, music, and all of our Ukrainian art, which is here to stay. There have been meetings at various levels, and one of our top priorities is securing long-range capabilities for our Defense Forces. This is crucial to preventing the terror that our Kharkiv and other cities across Ukraine are forced to endure. Clearing Ukrainian skies of Russian guided bombs is a powerful step toward forcing Russia to seek an end to the war and a just peace. Our representatives have provided all the necessary information and details to our partners. I am calling on the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany – we need the means to fully and effectively protect Ukraine and its people. We need permissions for long-range capabilities, as well as your long-range shells and missiles. None of them will be here! Neither Shaheds nor any other means of terror that it humiliatingly seeks around the world will save it. And even hundreds of Shaheds will not save it from this. They will only enlarge 🇷🇺 disgrace.

Today, the Commander of the Air Forces reported on the operations of our fire teams, the downing of "Shahed" drones, and countering Russian missiles. We can now say that our air defense has been strengthened. The German Patriot system has arrived in Ukraine, and I extend my gratitude to Germany and the United States for this step. We will be able to do more in the skies. While much work remains ahead and this is far from guaranteed protection, nonetheless, it means more power for Ukraine.

We can already see that the inaugural Peace Summit will be truly global. Leaders from all continents will attend. Many nations that value normal and peaceful coexistence will be present. I am grateful to all the states, leaders, and peace ambassadors who are assisting us in preparing for the summit. We will use the remaining weeks before the event to work with dozens of other leaders and countries that we hope to see at the summit. Despite the brutality of Russian pressure and the heinousness of Russian terror, the world must demonstrate that the combined strength of everyone who values life is sufficient to protect it. Such an outcome is critical for every nation because if this rule works in Ukraine, it will work everywhere.
