I’m starting to believe the idea that we don’t die. We are continuously in the version of reality where we survived each situation. Quantum immortality.

Call me crazy but I think our souls are partially recycled into new humans, mostly at random but taking karma into consideration! 👀 🙏🏼

Death may just be the moment the constraints finally lift. "Some neuroscientists refer to perception, even when it is functioning properly, as a "constrained hallucination." Without sensory input, this hallucination becomes unconstrained." — Max Bennett, A Brief History of Intelligence

I believe this is one of the reasons why, as we age, we tend to care less and less about external opinions and limiting 'self and socially imposed factors.' The neurological construction of our world doesn't really have to follow the physics of existence.

Well, yes, if you believe that you're just going to be some dead organism decaying in the ground (or burned and turned into ash). If you believe there's more than this life, then your attitude is very different, and you live your life very differently.

You should consult Edgar Allen Poe on this!

this doesn't really seem like the "neuroscience perspective" but rather would be better called the phenomenological perspective.

The idea that consciousness might "fade out" rather than stop is kind of terrifying and beautiful at the same time. New episode queued. 🐯

Went under for surgery once and the last thing I remember is counting, not the room disappearing. Feels more like the mind edits itself out before it notices the edit.

You go to heaven or to hell. Whatever you chose during this life.
