With @ Tesla FSD 14.1.4.... I had a concern that I couldn't control max speed with the right thumb scroll wheel... but Wow...that same scroll wheel now switches drive settings from Standard to Chill to Sloth or upwards to Hurry and Mad Max. I love it....it's better than before. 🥰

Here is my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.1.2 with the new Mad Max speed profile. Mad Max mode drives very quickly and confidently. It accelerates MUCH quicker off the line (love that) and maxes out at 85mph on the highway. If you like to drive fast, you're going to love this new mode. It may not come through on screen very well, but Mad Max mode makes the car zoom around town like it's on a mission lol. It's unlike any FSD mode Tesla has ever released before. Hurry mode now maxes out at 80mph on the highway, while the new Sloth mode matches the speed limit, which for me tonight was 65mph on the highway.

V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane. In my right side view mirror, you can see someone coming up on my ass, and FSD is not getting back over. It’s also not speeding up to pass the semi because it is in speed jail. I had to scroll mad max to get through the maneuver. Def a regression from 14.1.

Tesla, you need to give us back max speed control.. enough of this experiment - it doesn't work. There is no way that I can travel faster than 15 on this road straight downhill and sloth is trying to go 21 or 22. Tesla AI Dirty Tesla

I love you FSD v14.2 - but speed control has to come back soon… or they need to somehow solve misreading speed limits/bad map data. At the end of this clip we are JUST going the speed limit while in mad max. I’ve also had the car think it’s 30 km/h in a 60 km/h zone - in those situations even mad max won’t drive the speed limit and I am forced to use the pedal. This is actually more of a problem now since 14.2 since all of the profiles drive slower than they did in 14.1. I am 100% okay with the slower profiles, but only if the car actually knows the real speed limit.

Here is my first drive on FSD V14.1.7 (with commentary). No interventions the entire drive. Overall, no major issues. It does feel a little smoother than 14.1.4. Mad Max Mode also seems to have a slightly lower top speed on the highway, and drives more comfortably, which is good. Looking forward to V14.2! 4K version in thread below.

Tesla solved autonomy. I just had FSD v14.2.2.5 drive me on a 46 minute ride (40 miles) from Jagalchi in Daly City to McDonald's in San Jose. It took me from parking lot to parking lot. I never touched the steering wheel. I never touched the pedals. And I never disengaged.

Tested FSD 14.2.1 Speed Profiles from MadMax to Sloth, on 65 MPH freeway. Here are the results: - MadMax when to 79 (14 miles over) and stayed in passing lane - Hurry dropped down to 75 (10 miles over) - Standard dropped it further down to 69/70 (4/5miles over) - Chill dropped to 67 (2 miles over) - Sloth dropped to 63 (2 miles under) Verdict: I prefer Standard on freeways and MadMax in city. Sorry… I beg your pardon… you’re telling me that in 2026 you’re still holding the steering wheel, pressing the brake and accelerator the entire drive? I just press a button and my Tesla takes me to my destination with FSD… to the point where I almost forget how I even got there. I’m living in the future, and you’re still choosing to drive like it’s the past. Same road… completely different realities.

8 drives in with FSD v14.1.2 and here are my thoughts: First off, Mad Max mode is AMAZING in traffic. Drove down to Hawthorne on my first drive in rush hour and it cut through traffic so well. An hour drive without any human input was great. The other Speed Profiles seem like they make slightly more difference than before. Standard is perfect on city streets, hurry is a bit quicker and the lane changes are more assertive than v14.1.1. Mad Max is a bit quick at times on city streets with nobody around, as expected. The assertive lane changes are my second favorite change, after mad max. It doesn’t wait around a bit like v14.1 and v14.1.1, it commits and sends it if safe, love it. I have NOT really seen any brake stutter yet, seems gone so far. I saw one instance of slight steering wheel shaking but that’s it over the last few hours. Few things to note with Mad Max. It’s fast, but it’s very safe. It’s not going to cut people off- it makes great decisions and they’re clearly calculated. It is NOT like the Altima with a missing bumper you see flying through traffic, it’s very controlled and I love it. This is exactly what we needed for LA and it’s almost how I like to drive through traffic and how you have to drive through LA. Lane changes in each profile seem improved in this build too. Definitely noticeably better and more confident. With parking garages, I’m seeing good performance, but to note- 1 of 4 garage attempts so far it went further from the ticket booth than it used to. Feels like maybe .1 had better lot performance, but I’m going to a lot of driving tonight to make sure. It definitely obeys no right on red signs, I’ve seen it listen to every single one perfectly so far, even obscure signs. It moves over for lane splitting motorcycles well before I can see them- this increases safety for everyone especially the motorcyclists and they appreciate it. A couple of them have waved at me tonight alone to thank me. Moved over for the two construction zones I have encountered thus far, and slowed down. Standard seems like the Goldilocks profile when on city streets with no traffic to follow- doesn’t speed much and usually travels at the perfect speed. Mad max is fast when nobody around- but really good speed control when there’s cars on the road. When you enable FSD from park, I love how quickly it gets going. If it’s safe, it goes right away, feels like it’s always waiting and ready to go. Pretty awesome improvement over v13 and continually impresses me. Autosteer and TACC are back, will get some miles accumulated on autosteer for those wondering if it’s changed at all, but I don’t think it has much if it did. Here’s a 15 minute zero intervention drive just now from Santa Monica supercharger to Rodeo Drive, where it obeyed a one way sign to the little parking lot and went the next entrance in once it saw. I’m going to drive this more through the night, and then will take it out during rush hour a lot. Huge shoutout to Tesla AI teams for getting these releases out so quickly. They’re making magic happen. More to come, but I’m loving what I’m seeing!

CRITICAL FSD disengagement at highway speed. Details: ~ car was extremely indecisive taking the exit ~ You can see right before I disengaged, the steering wheel was turning slightly left toward the barrier ~ also waited until the very last minute, cutting across 4 lanes to make the exit in under 10 seconds ~ I believe it was going to drive into the barrier ~ Mad Max mode ~ The car behind me was cut also about to collide due to this indecisiveness ~ FSD v14.3.4 on 2026.14.6.12 ~ Completely sunny day, sun was above not in frony (no glare) ~ All cameras were clean ~ Houston I am a very grateful and avid FSD user, but never in my 3 years of usage have I experienced such a critical disengagement. I made sure to mark it as critical in the menu. Also, the video clip doesn't really justify how much I had to swerve and avoid that barrier, also having to accelerate hard since the car behind me didn't expect that. Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me.
