DreamCraft3D: Hierarchical 3D Generation with Bootstrapped Diffusion Prior paper page: present DreamCraft3D, a hierarchical 3D content generation method that produces high-fidelity and coherent 3D objects. We tackle the problem by leveraging a 2D reference image to guide the stages of geometry sculpting and texture boosting. A central focus of this work is to address the consistency issue that existing works encounter. To sculpt geometries that render coherently, we perform score distillation sampling via a view-dependent diffusion model. This 3D prior, alongside several training strategies, prioritizes the geometry consistency but compromises the texture fidelity. We further propose Bootstrapped Score Distillation to specifically boost the texture. We train a personalized diffusion model, Dreambooth, on the augmented renderings of the scene, imbuing it with 3D knowledge of the scene being optimized. The score distillation from this 3D-aware diffusion prior provides view-consistent guidance for the scene. Notably, through an alternating optimization of the diffusion prior and 3D scene representation, we achieve mutually reinforcing improvements: the optimized 3D scene aids in training the scene-specific diffusion model, which offers increasingly view-consistent guidance for 3D optimization. The optimization is thus bootstrapped and leads to substantial texture boosting. With tailored 3D priors throughout the hierarchical generation, DreamCraft3D generates coherent 3D objects with photorealistic renderings, advancing the state-of-the-art in 3D content generation.

Magic123: One Image to High-Quality 3D Object Generation Using Both 2D and 3D Diffusion Priors paper page: present Magic123, a two-stage coarse-to-fine approach for high-quality, textured 3D meshes generation from a single unposed image in the wild using both2D and 3D priors. PointOdyssey: A Large-Scale Synthetic Dataset for Long-Term Point Tracking paper page: introduce PointOdyssey, a large-scale synthetic dataset, and data generation framework, for the training and evaluation of long-term fine-grained tracking algorithms. Our goal is to advance the state-of-the-art by placing emphasis on long videos with naturalistic motion. Toward the goal of naturalism, we animate deformable characters using real-world motion capture data, we build 3D scenes to match the motion capture environments, and we render camera viewpoints using trajectories mined via structure-from-motion on real videos. We create combinatorial diversity by randomizing character appearance, motion profiles, materials, lighting, 3D assets, and atmospheric effects. Our dataset currently includes 104 videos, averaging 2,000 frames long, with orders of magnitude more correspondence annotations than prior work. We show that existing methods can be trained from scratch in our dataset and outperform the published variants. Finally, we introduce modifications to the PIPs point tracking method, greatly widening its temporal receptive field, which improves its performance on PointOdyssey as well as on two real-world benchmarks.

Upscale-A-Video: Temporal-Consistent Diffusion Model for Real-World Video Super-Resolution paper page: Text-based diffusion models have exhibited remarkable success in generation and editing, showing great promise for enhancing visual content with their generative prior. However, applying these models to video super-resolution remains challenging due to the high demands for output fidelity and temporal consistency, which is complicated by the inherent randomness in diffusion models. Our study introduces Upscale-A-Video, a text-guided latent diffusion framework for video upscaling. This framework ensures temporal coherence through two key mechanisms: locally, it integrates temporal layers into U-Net and VAE-Decoder, maintaining consistency within short sequences; globally, without training, a flow-guided recurrent latent propagation module is introduced to enhance overall video stability by propagating and fusing latent across the entire sequences. Thanks to the diffusion paradigm, our model also offers greater flexibility by allowing text prompts to guide texture creation and adjustable noise levels to balance restoration and generation, enabling a trade-off between fidelity and quality. Extensive experiments show that Upscale-A-Video surpasses existing methods in both synthetic and real-world benchmarks, as well as in AI-generated videos, showcasing impressive visual realism and temporal consistency.

Alibaba presents MIMO Controllable Character Video Synthesis with Spatial Decomposed Modeling Character video synthesis aims to produce realistic videos of animatable characters within lifelike scenes. As a fundamental problem in the computer vision and graphics community, 3D works typically require multi-view captures for per-case training, which severely limits their applicability of modeling arbitrary characters in a short time. Recent 2D methods break this limitation via pre-trained diffusion models, but they struggle for pose generality and scene interaction. To this end, we propose MIMO, a novel framework which can not only synthesize character videos with controllable attributes (i.e., character, motion and scene) provided by simple user inputs, but also simultaneously achieve advanced scalability to arbitrary characters, generality to novel 3D motions, and applicability to interactive real-world scenes in a unified framework. The core idea is to encode the 2D video to compact spatial codes, considering the inherent 3D nature of video occurrence. Concretely, we lift the 2D frame pixels into 3D using monocular depth estimators, and decompose the video clip to three spatial components (i.e., main human, underlying scene, and floating occlusion) in hierarchical layers based on the 3D depth. These components are further encoded to canonical identity code, structured motion code and full scene code, which are utilized as control signals of synthesis process. The design of spatial decomposed modeling enables flexible user control, complex motion expression, as well as 3D-aware synthesis for scene interactions. Experimental results demonstrate effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

We’re excited to share DiT4DiT, an end-to-end Video-Action Model for robot learning that unifies a video Diffusion Transformer and an action Diffusion Transformer in a single cascaded framework. By leveraging the rich spatiotemporal and physical dynamics learned through video generation, rather than static image-text priors, DiT4DiT achieves state-of-the-art results on LIBERO (98.6%) and RoboCasa GR1 (50.8%) with far less training data, delivering over 10× better sample efficiency and up to 7× faster convergence. Real-world deployment on a humanoid robot further shows robust generalization. We believe this is a step toward making video generation a powerful backbone for robot policy learning. I am happy to be finally able to post what I was able to build over the last few weeks. A full real-time high-frequency state estimation and mapping algorithm completely written line by line from scratch in Rust, which can be used by robots to navigate and reason within the 3D world also in complicated scenarios. TBH this took me longer than expected (which was still super fast :D) but you need to get a lot right: From the sensors over the drivers to their respective estimation pipeline and then fusing everything together - a covariance nightmare - and something that can be refined over years to come (currently using Fisher Information from the real measurements). What you see here is not the output of some structure from motion or Gaussian splatting, these are the points of a tight mesh (high res for the video) that a robot can use in real time to plan a path using any open-source planner. The flight you experience through the world is the actual state estimate of the scanner which is published at IMU rate. Yes, currently we have some artefacts of filtered-out humans (GDPR compliant of course :) ) and moving cars and there is still some calibration that could be improved. Offline refinement with SFM and Gaussian splats is possible as well but currently not on the road map. What is on the road map is an exciting step of now being able to collect data from customers at construction sites and in warehouses (currently handheld in the near future with a robot). This data can then be used by our physical agents to reason within this world and automate any customer’s task related to 3D data. Everything you love about generative models — now powered by real physics! Announcing the Genesis project — after a 24-month large-scale research collaboration involving over 20 research labs — a generative physics engine able to generate 4D dynamical worlds powered by a physics simulation platform designed for general-purpose robotics and physical AI applications. Genesis's physics engine is developed in pure Python, while being 10-80x faster than existing GPU-accelerated stacks like Isaac Gym and MJX. Want to create an avatar from a single image? FlexAvatar is a transformer model that creates full 360°, high-quality, and expressive 3D head avatar from just a single portrait image in minutes. Real-time Demo: FlexAvatar's lightweight architecture allows both animation and rendering in real-time, enabling interactive user experiences. To create a new 3D head avatar, only one image is required, e.g., from a webcam. The final avatar is ready after 2 minutes. Architecture: Under the hood, FlexAvatar adopts a transformer-based encoder-decoder design. The encoder maps the input image onto a latent avatar space, while the decoder produces 3D Gaussian attribute maps by incorporating the animation signal via cross-attention. The model learns all facial animations directly from the data without relying on pre-built 3D face models. This equips the avatars with realistic facial expressions. The internal avatar latent space can be conveniently used to integrate additional observations of a person via fitting. This enables use-cases where more than one image of a person is available, e.g., from a phone scan of the person. We train jointly on 2D monocular videos and multi-view data. However, in monocular videos, the animation signal leaks the target viewpoint, causing the model to produce incomplete 3D heads. We call this phenomenon entanglement of driving signal and target viewpoint. To prevent entanglement, we introduce bias sinks. These are learnable tokens that indicate whether a training sample stems from a monocular or a multi-view dataset. During training, the model learns to produce incomplete 3D heads only when the monocular token is present. During inference, FlexAvatar then always uses the multi-view token for which the model has learned to produce complete 3D heads. This simple design allows to combine the generalizability from monocular data with the quality of multi-view data. We’re thrilled to share that our MERFISH+ preprint is now live on bioRxiv!👉 In this work, the Bintu and Zhu labs (UCSD) developed MERFISH+, a next-generation spatial genomics platform that combines genome-wide RNA and epigenetic imaging over a large field of view. By introducing acrydite-modified probes covalently anchored to hydrogels, MERFISH+ achieves remarkable imaging stability and enables >1,800-gene, multi-modal, and multi-month experiments. With this platform, they, together with the Chi lab at UCSD, profiled a whole developing human heart at 12 post-conception week with merely two slides, resulting in a total of 53 slides, 3.1 million single cells and more than 30 cell types. Building upon our previous 3D reconstruction and modeling framework, Spateo ( we reconstruct the 3D human heart that nicely captures the anatomical structure of the heart, including the intricate vasculature network. Sophisticated analyses provide a holistic view of an entire organ and enable systematic characterization of 3D cellular neighborhoods and transcriptional gradients of substructures such as the descending arteries. Furthermore, using a generative integration framework for spatial multimodal data (Spateo-VI), we harmonized these MERFISH+ transcriptomic and chromatin data to reconstruct a 3D spatially-resolved multi-omics atlas of the developing human heart, shared at and MERFISH+ thus sets a new standard for large-format, multi-omic spatial profiling, enabling holistic, 3D characterization of organs at subcellular resolution.
