Chad and Carol Trainor, owners of Urban Olive & Vine in Hudson, Wisconsin, made it a mission to hire and mentor local teenagers for their first jobs. When Carol suffered a grand mal seizure and spent eight months in a coma, the 30 teens stepped up unasked. They ran the restaurant—opening, closing, managing operations, and caring for Chad—keeping the business alive. Carol passed away in May 2025 at age 58. The restaurant closed briefly so all the teens could attend her memorial. Chad credits them with saving the business: “These kids became adults and ran our business and took care of me.”

On International Women’s Day, I visited the Rett Syndrome Family Association and made a small donation. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales at yesterday’s fan meeting in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (NTD 110,000) were donated as well. Rett Syndrome is a rare neurological developmental disorder that mainly affects girls, with a chance of about 1 in 10,000. Some of the mothers caring for their children also make and sell handmade natural soaps to support their families. Seeing their work and hearing their stories today was truly touching. I hope more people will support families affected by rare diseases. Happy International Women’s Day 💐

It’s really so heartwarming how the guitar isn’t just a prop or a cool trademark for Wonbin, it’s part of his entire journey of falling in love with music. It’s the instrument his parents put in his hands at ten years old, the same one he clung to during nervous trainee evaluations and his first introduction to the world, the ( 🎸 ) emoji. You can see how much it means to him in the small details, like how he meticulously designed his first in-ears to weave his name into the shape of a guitar and a pick . Even his first custom microphone features a guitar that "somehow appeared" while he was doodling. It’s a love that started with watching Gibson Les Paul videos in middle school and grew into a dream to perform with the "one-of-a-kind" presence of people he admires . When he plays, he isn’t just showing off a skill that his teacher called "special" from day one, he’s sharing a piece of himself that has been more than ten years in the making.
