Big news! World Labs' Marble is officially compatible with NVIDIA Robotics' Isaac Sim. Instead of showcasing their highlight reel, our team at Lightwheel created a full environment from a 360 pano using Marble and showed you can train directly in sim. The only non-generated assets are the robot arms, coffee, and bowl. Everything else was generated with Marble. Not sure how to do this yourself? NVIDIA wrote a technical blog with full instructions. Demonstrating our latest localization system in action. At bootup, the robot has no prior position estimate, but within seconds it autonomously localizes itself using a fusion of three algorithms. Unlike our previous version, this updated system incorporates vision, allowing the robot to adapt to real-world changes (e.g., moved furniture) by recognizing previously seen environments. In this demo, we repeatedly reset navigation and reposition the robot to random locations, showing robust, repeatable localization. The robot then executes a full patrol, following a planned path (visualized in RViz) with real-time path tracking. Because our software is hardware-agnostic, it brings the same reliable performance to any robot it runs on.

Wow. This is crazy. A developer trained an AI agent in simulation and deployed it onto a real robotic air hockey table using reinforcement learning. This robot can track the puck with millimeter-level accuracy and react in roughly 20 milliseconds, fast enough to challenge even skilled human players. We’re moving from robots that follow programmed rules to machines that learn strategies in simulation and execute them in the physical world.
