Absolute gold from Derek Jeter. Let your kids know you love them and are proud of them no matter what. Remove the fear of failure and teach them how to be great teammates. When kids aren’t scared to fail, they play free and that’s when they truly enjoy the game. Yes, we still want to WIN 🏆. Yes, we teach kids to compete and give their best. But we also teach them to detach from the result, good or bad, and know that as parents, we’re always in their corner. That’s how you build confident players and better people. Hitters University

Don Mattingly explaining to practice being short & quick in practice with the focus of hitting line drives opposed to trying to lift & launch in batting practice. If you are hitting low line drives with back spin in practice consistently off of 60 MPH when you take that same swing off of 90+ MPH & just miss slightly below / clip the bottom half. Those turn into Doubles & Home Runs. But when you try and lift off of batting practice & lift in the game. That is when you find tons of swing & miss as well as top spin ground balls.

Tee on the inside half. Hit it back up the middle. I’d do this drill a lot to groom my bat path to be short & inside the baseball. If you can consistently be inside the baseball it will allow you to trust your self to let the baseball travel deep towards the plate before you make a decision to swing. When you can let the ball travel deeper to make a decision to swing you swing at better pitches…. When you swing at better pitches & track the ball longer you square up more baseballs…. Square up more baseballs get more hits! Hitters University

Juan Soto talking about being short to the ball & on top of the ball to get that back spin & not top spin or knuckle balls. Down through the baseball with good extension & your head on the baseball creates solid contact & consistency. Great example right here!

Mookie Betts on visualization. Take at bats in your mind before you go to bed. Visualize the pitcher you’re going to face the next day & you putting your best swings on the baseball. Try to create a vivid image of what you’re going to do & of you having success. You’ll be shocked when you go do it the next day how you feel a sense of Deja vu. Your body just knows what to do & as it’s already been there before. The power of the mind is a crazy thing! #manifesting #visualization #mentalgame Hitters University

Dylan Crews Cage Work & High Tee. Great stuff here that all young players could take some nuggets from. Love the best players coming out and telling the world what they truly do in the cage. Short, flat, quick swings play at every level in the world! ✅ Hitters University

Dylan Crews Angled Flips/Cage Work ✅ - Focus on creating a solid bat path inside the baseball. - Making sure he’s not just feeling for it but trying to drive balls through the middle of the field. Low & hard through the middle the other way is his goal. - Same focus as the high tee staying down on it to create backspin. Train like the best in the world do! Hitters University

When are you starting your load? —Most of the games best hitters start there load & get into a ready position to hit before the ball leaves the pitchers hand. —Starting your load when the pitchers hand breaks is a good cue to go off of. Every single pitcher has to do this to throw the ball. Once there hand breaks every pitchers time to plate is close in timing. Giving you a consistent time to start. —Being on time towards the opposite field gap or through the middle for fastball. Gives you a chance to do damage on both pitches. The FB & Off speed. When you get into your advantage counts & have earned your fastball. 2-0, 3-0, 3-1. You can now then shift your sights over towards the pull side gap. —Hope this helps some people! #PlayerDevelopment

Royce Lewis talking about the high tee drill & his hopes to generate backspin. Low line drives through the middle off practice = Driving the ball in the games! The best hitters that I have been around think about having short, direct, flat swings that are simple & repeatable.

Jarred Kelenic talking hitting. Precision over muscling up & trying to swing so hard. Strike the ball consistently with good barrel accuracy & good things will happen. Try & swing too hard & you will be inconsistent. You want high bat speed & exit velocity for sure. But that comes from the weight room, proper nutrition, & a bat speed plan. Once you do that & have the elite engine. You just try to strike it cleanly! Hitters University

How I’d get good FAST as a baseball player: First get in the gym and commit. 6 days a week: upper / lower / arms, repeat. 1 full rest day. Do this for 6 straight months minimum. Build strength, durability, and discipline. Second the baseball work has to be intentional. Hit 5–6x/week with a plan. Not just swinging… purposeful reps. Work with a coach who gives you structure, routine, and adjustments. Then put in the REAL work on your own. Extra swings. Extra reps. Extra time. This part matters: You are NOT going to develop at practice alone. High school, travel, even college practice isn’t enough. The jump happens in the hours nobody sees. Third fuel your body like an athlete. Eat enough protein to recover and build strength. Hydrate consistently. Add electrolytes. Recovery = performance. If your body breaks down, so does your progress. Fourth train your mind daily. Read 1 chapter a day: •Heads Up Baseball 2.0 •The Alchemist •The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success •The Four Agreements •It’s All in Your Head You need mental toughness to handle failure, pressure, and long stretches with no visible results. That’s part of it. Now tie it all together: Training + reps + nutrition + mindset. Do ALL of it consistently. Then do it for 3–5 years. No shortcuts. No skipping steps. Keep your head down. Stay obsessed with getting better—not being seen. The results will come if the work is real. If you want a clear plan + mentorship on exactly how to do this, reach out. Hitters University
