People still want soreness to mean something. You wake... two days after a session barely able to sit down, and a voice at the back of your mind says good, that one's going to grow. It isn't. Soreness is the receipt for damage you haven't finished repairing. While the body patches torn tissue, it isn't building new muscle on top. The ache marks the days the work is paused. A sore muscle is a weaker one too. Force production drops while it's tender, so the next session runs at a discount, lighter loads, poorer stimulus. And the swelling you read as size? Fluid. It does nothing for growth and drains away in days. If you're sore all the time, that isn't a badge. It's a message. Drop some volume and put a few more rest days in. The muscle grows on the days you can walk.show more

Your metabolism isn’t broken. You’re just playing the wrong... game. Post-chest day pump into a full Forbici feast: their largest pepperoni pizza, cacio e pepe, Caesar salad, double protein chicken bowl, and wine. This is what metabolic flexibility actually looks like. When you carry significant muscle mass at 12% body fat, your body becomes a completely different machine. You’re not just “lean”, you’re metabolically advantaged. Think of it like this: Fat cells are storage units. Muscle cells are furnaces. The more furnaces you have running 24/7, the more fuel you can throw at them without consequence. At 12% body fat with real muscle tissue, your insulin sensitivity is optimized. Nutrients partition preferentially into muscle, not fat. Your body actually PREFERS to burn fat for fuel at rest and shuttle carbs into muscle for growth and performance. This is why I can destroy an entire Italian feast on date night without anxiety or tomorrow’s cardio “punishment.” The muscle mass creates metabolic flexibility, the ability to efficiently use whatever fuel source you give it. Most people obsess over aggressive deficits and endless cardio, treating fat loss like an emergency. Yes, these tools work. Yes, you can preserve muscle if you’re smart about it. But you’re still playing defense, constantly fighting to maintain what little muscle you have while grinding through restriction. The game isn’t just getting lean. It’s building the engine that makes being lean effortless. When you prioritize muscle acquisition FIRST, you create a physique that burns more calories at rest, handles carbs better, and allows you to eat like someone who enjoys date night. Stop majoring in the minors. Build the metabolic advantage first, then reveal what you’ve built. Your grandmother was right - you need to eat. When you have the muscle mass to support it, food becomes fuel, not the enemy.show more

Someone looked at me and decided my weight loss... must be stalled. I want to talk about what that assumption actually says. It says that if a woman does not look a certain way, she must be failing. It says the goal is to become small enough that strangers feel comfortable with your body. It says your progress is only valid if it is visible and ongoing and pointed toward a destination someone else approved. I have lost 140 pounds in less than a year. That is the equivalent of an adult person gone off my body. I am not stalled. I spent the last couple of months in a deliberate phase of metabolic healing before entering a body recomposition phase. That is not a plateau. That is a plan. And now it is time to build. I am adding the rebounder back. I am adding weights. I am tightening up what was keeping me from the next phase, because progress does not stop just because healing takes time. Metabolic health first, body recomposition second. That was never a detour. That was always the path. The body you are in right now is not a problem to be solved. Mine is healing. Mine is getting stronger. And where I am in my journey is nobody’s business until I decide to make it that way. Meat. Mindset. Movement. All three. In that order.show more

Want to jump higher? Unpopular truth: fat don’t fly.... Before you start crying about body shaming or act like this is skinnytok, let's get into our DeLoreans and revisit physics class!! Newton's 2nd Law a=F/m Same force with more mass = less acceleration which in this case = less height. Want to increase acceleration (and its byproduct jump height)? Either going to have to increase the numerator (force) or decrease the denominator (mass). That's not an opinion, it's math and science. And that math/science is on display here as you have two medballs acted upon by the same force traveling different distances due to differing mass. Now let's walk across the hall to anatomy and physiology class...yes, you need body fat. It's critical to be healthy and function. This isn't advocating for just losing weight or being "thin" or whatever. It's for optimizing body composition to where you perform at your best. With that, you need muscle mass to produce FORCE. And many younger volleyball players will benefit tremendously from an increase in muscle mass. This increase in muscle mass stands to increase force production, improve body composition, and create a net positive effect on performance (within reason we all know we're not training linebackers). But an increase in unnecessary fat mass typically has the opposite effect. Hence the statement: fat don't fly. Every athlete has an optimal body composition. Find yours through consistent strength training, adequate fueling, proper hydration and sleep and...planned recovery days.show more

Every golfer knows the feeling… you get to the... top, you’re fully wound, and there’s that urge to hit from the top. That’s the Hit Impulse. The problem? The harder we try to fire our hands and arms early, the more we rob ourselves of sequence and compression. Power doesn’t come from panic — it comes from order. Here, I’m relaxing my arms as much as possible. Almost to the point of feeling passive. That softness allows my lower body to initiate, my legs to glide, and my core to unwind the club the way it was designed to move. When the arms stay supple, the body can dominate. It’s counterintuitive… but that patience at the top is what creates that heavy, compressed strike we’re all chasing. If you’d like to go deeper into how I train this and build a classic, body-friendly motion, visit my website for more information.show more

After the discovery of 3 dead bodies of hostages,... it seems Hamas probably has no or very few living hostages left to leverage in a deal. Hamas will string Israel along as much as possible though. Hamas doesn't want a deal, they want Israel refusal. Its all about PR. Just look at the US college campuses, it’s working on a bunch of gullible people. 3rd & 11. FSU runs four verts. Bama showing... split safety pre-snap, but as they typically do, safety drops late into single-high while running Cover 1 Robber (Sabb rotates down to cover low hole). Mincey, who’s the single-high safety here, in a tough position to provide help over the top. Honestly, think it’s just the perfect play-call for FSU. Lee is left on an island against a veteran speedster, and the Seminoles were confident they could take an outside shot downfield here due to Wommack preferring to run so much single-high. Punting into the wind is hard, so let’s make... it simple 👇 1)nose down. Have to control the nose of the ball so it can cut through the air and still give you good distance 2) short step. So essential, especially given that you’ll be dropping the ball lower. You have to still create time for your body to come up through. 3) lower drop table. You have to decrease the amount of time the ball is in the air. Lowering the drop table (in tandem w/ tip 2 does that). 4) hip drive. you never want to collapse underneath the ball… or you’ll actually hit it straight up. Driving your hips through creates the line drive feeling while you can keep connection w your body. Now go survive some 25mph+ gusts. OneOnOne Kicking Camps🏈show more
