A fun new hobby of mine is taking the... Tesla to different areas to see how FSD performs. A few days ago I drove from Long Island to Atlantic City. FSD did 99% of the driving. The traffic was very mixed for most of the trip so I considered it a real challenge. Here are a few interesting moments. First time I had Tesla FSD disengage because of weather. The widely anticipated launch of the SpaceX/NASA Crew-10 mission... from the Kennedy Space Center has been scrubbed in the last minutes before launch due to a hydraulics issue with the ground equipment. The mission was set to finally allow the return of two astronauts, Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams. The two astronauts have been in space at the International Space Station (ISS) for more than nine months after Boeing’s Starliner was deemed too unsafe to bring them home due to issues with the thrusters and was returned to Earth uncrewed. The next launch window will likely be tomorrow, with the astronauts returning home Friday hopefully.show more

The 1st Tesla Cybercab at the Giga Texas crash... testing facility. Hard to say for sure, but this may indicate the vehicle has completed most of the final engineering & production tests out at Fremont and what remains is now at Giga Texas. If this follows how the Cybertruck proceeded, we are likely a month or two before we will see initial test runs of what will be the production version. Major Tom. This is an empty space suit released... into orbit. On February 3, 2006, astronauts from Expedition 12 pushed an old Russian space suit away from the International Space Station. The suit was fitted with radio equipment and turned into a tiny satellite called SuitSat. As it drifted through space, it broadcast signals for a short time before the equipment failed. From Earth, it looked eerily like a floating human figure, silently moving through the darkness of orbit. For months, this lifeless suit circled our planet no astronaut inside, no control, just a hollow reminder of human presence in space until atmospheric drag finally pulled it back down. Dexter vs. Claude Code I ran tests overnight and... Dexter came out ahead on complex financial tasks that required deep research. Dexter won on: • speed (by 92%) • cost (by 26%) • correctness (by 31%) I use Claude Code often, so this was fun to see. A key challenge for CC is that it relies on web search for financial data. Most of what it finds comes from news sites, blogs, and other secondary sources. Dexter uses primary source data from Financial Datasets, so the performance gap makes sense. Plenty of room to improve on Dexter. The gap will only grow from here. Evals from vals. Report coming next.show more

"WAR BETWEEN THE US AND IRAN" Tucker Carlson warns... the Trump administration against starting a war with Iran. According to Tucker, it would result in thousands of dead American soldiers. I do not agree with Carlson's analysis at all. I think he's making a misjudgment. Before a conflict starts, the US will move its two aircraft carriers to a safe distance. The US, Israel and the UK will launch massive air strikes against Iran and knock out what remains of Iran's air defenses within hours. We will see massive airstrikes that will knock out Iran's infrastructure and send the country back 25-30 years within a few days.
