Modern robotic wrist joints often use timing belt differentials... to achieve smooth, multi-axis movement within compact spaces. By distributing motion through synchronized belt systems, a single actuator can control multiple rotational outputs with high precision. This design reduces weight, minimizes backlash, and allows for more efficient force transmission compared to traditional gear-based systems. It is widely used in robotic arms where accuracy, responsiveness, and compactness are critical. The result is more natural, fluid motion-bringing robotic systems closer to human-like dexterity in industrial and automation applications.show more

🚨 3I/ATLAS Critical Update 🚨 It’s happening again. 3I/ATLAS... has changed its shape —Its new form looks nothing like any comet we’ve ever seen before. A rounded, glowing green light has now appeared, with no visible tail at all. The image, captured on November 10 by Ray’s Astrophotography, shows what looks more like a moving sphere of energy than a frozen ball of ice and dust. Even more astonishing — researchers have noticed that this object seems to have absorbed solar energy, releasing it in geometric patterns, and is resonating at 7.83 Hz, the same frequency as the Schumann resonance — Earth’s natural heartbeat. Could this really be a comet… or something far greater — an intelligent presence moving silently through deep space? 👀 #3IATLAS #spacemystery #interstellarobjectshow more

When a nuclear reactor is switched on for the... first time, an intense, almost hypnotic blue glow appears in the water surrounding the reactor core. This light is neither fire nor heat; it is Cherenkov radiation, a physical phenomenon that occurs when charged particles, such as high-energy electrons produced during nuclear fission, travel through a transparent medium faster than light can propagate within that same medium. While nothing can exceed the speed of light in a vacuum, light travels more slowly in materials like water. When a charged particle surpasses this reduced speed, it emits a coherent shock-like electromagnetic wave, often described as an optical analogue of a sonic boom. This radiation produces the distinctive blue glow. The colour arises because Cherenkov radiation is strongest at shorter wavelengths, which are dominated by blue and ultraviolet light. The phenomenon was first observed experimentally in 1934 and later explained theoretically, work that led to the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1958. Its explanation confirmed how relativity and electromagnetism operate in material media. Today, this deep blue light is both a warning and a scientific tool. It signals the presence of intense ionising radiation, while also being exploited in particle detectors, nuclear reactors, and neutrino observatories. It provides a rare, visible manifestation of subatomic processes that are otherwise hidden from direct human perception. #GottaLovePhysics #Physicsshow more

Our proposal to get Europe forward towards a Federation... is to start with the Benelux first, as a historic testing ground of European Integration, it should pick that role up again to prove that federal cooperation works, making it attractive for others to join. The idea is to create a Benelux Federation between Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, while keeping their own national identities, cultures and local politics. The federation would focus on the things where working together gives them more power and ambition: defence, trade and foreign relations, industry, energy, infrastructure and the internal market. Semiconductors: They already have ASML, imec, NXP and many strong suppliers. Now they should build the full chain around them, from research and design to manufacturing, packaging and testing. Make the Benelux Europe's semiconductor hub by pooling resources, similar to Japan's semiconductor manufacturing plan. Ports: Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges together handle around 695 million tonnes of cargo a year. Instead of competing separately, they should work as one Benelux port and logistics system, connecting ports, railways, waterways, pipelines and industry. High-speed rail: Build a new Benelux network designed for 400 km/h or faster, integrating all cities, and making federal travel seamless. Defence: They already train and operate together. The next step is to integrate procurement, logistics, intelligence, cyber defence, air defence and command. Buy more together, reduce duplication and build a stronger Benelux defence industry. Industry: Create a common industrial strategy and investment fund for semiconductors, AI, robotics, biotechnology, defence and advanced manufacturing. Make it easier and faster to build factories and scale companies across the Benelux. Federal government and simplification: Create a small federal government responsible only for the powers given to the federation, while keeping national governments and local politics intact. Make the Benelux the least bureaucratic country in the world by removing unnecessary rules, standardising where possible and making decisions fast. Give businesses clear rules, one digital system and simple permits, so that starting a company, building a factory or expanding across the Benelux is as easy as possible. Energy: Plan the electricity grid, standardised nuclear power buildout, offshore wind, hydrogen, solar and other major energy infrastructure together. A bigger connected energy system gives industry more security and makes the region more attractive for investment. Culture: Build a shared Benelux identity while keeping each country's own culture and traditions. Promote shared history, food, music, sport and heritage, while becoming known for combining European heritage with a modern and innovative future. Ambition: Make the Benelux a blueprint for the economy of the future, leading in robotisation, AI, advanced manufacturing, quantum technology, biotechnology, new materials and space. Invest heavily in research and turn new technologies into companies, industries and jobs. The federation should aim to build one of the most advanced economies in the world, from automated factories and next-generation infrastructure to European space infrastructure and a future Moon base. European scale: A Benelux Federation would still have limits because three countries cannot match the scale of the United States, China or the largest global markets. To become a true world leader, Europe would need to integrate further. The Benelux should therefore be the first blueprint showing that more European integration and democratisation can work at a federal level, creating a model that other European countries can join and build on over time. The point of the project is to prove a Federal Europe would work, not by words, but by tangible results. Once proven, our nations would have a reason to federate. Benelux pushed EU in integration before, it should do it again!show more

Akira Kurosawa’s films show a strong and careful use... of color to tell stories and create mood. Akira Kurosawa approaches the cinematic frame like a canvas, using color with deliberate and commanding precision. In his visually rich epics, he went so far as to modify natural environments—painting elements of the set such as ground, shadows, and vegetation—to ensure they aligned with his carefully designed storyboards. Through this, he used color not just decoratively, but expressively, shaping mood and meaning within the narrative. Bold, saturated reds often signal death, violence, and the collapse of order, while vivid yellows can suggest instability, corruption, or psychological unrest. These intense tones are frequently set against muted, restrained backgrounds, heightening their emotional impact and drawing the viewer’s attention into specific dramatic forces within the frame. The result is a highly controlled visual language in which color becomes a storytelling tool in itself, transforming historical and violent subject matter into a striking, almost painterly cinematic experience that immerses the audience in its emotional weight.show more

Rosemary, coconut and castor - the ultimate hair-loving trio!This... rich hair oil nourishes, strengthens and revives dull, lifeless locks. Packed with natural goodness to help you achieve your healthiest hair. In the winter I use it every week and sleep with it over night with a bonnet on then rinse out in the morning. Steps: 1. Harvest your rosemary 2. Clean and dry it 3. Add to double boiler on med heat for 5-10 minutes. 4. Let it cool then strain and store in an air tight container. Why I use these 3 ingredients when making hair oil at home: 1. Rosemary promotes blood circulation in the scalp, which can help stimulate hair follicles and encourage hair growth. The antioxidants in rosemary can also help prevent hair loss by combating free radicals that damage hair follicles. Rosemary also contains antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve scalp health and reduce dandruff. 2. Castor oil is a rich source of fatty acids that can help moisturize and nourish the hair, making it softer and more manageable. It also contains proteins and nutrients that can help strengthen the hair shaft, reducing breakage and promoting healthy hair growth. Like rosemary, castor oil also has anti fungal and antibacterial properties that can help treat scalp conditions like dandruff and scalp infections. 3. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins that can help nourish and strengthen the hair, making it healthier and more resilient. It can also help add shine and luster to dull, dry hair, making it look more vibrant and healthy. Another benefit of coconut oil is that it forms a protective barrier around the hair shaft, helping to prevent damage from heat styling, sun exposure, and environmental pollutants.show more

Japan’s leap into the deep blue has birthed a... technological titan: the world’s first megawatt-scale underwater turbine designed to anchor within the relentless Kuroshio Current. Unlike solar or wind energy, which are beholden to the whims of the weather, this subaquatic marvel taps into ocean streams that flow with permanent, unshakable consistency. Because water is roughly 800 times denser than air, even a slow-moving current carries a kinetic punch far more powerful than a howling gale, allowing these massive "sea-planes" to generate a steady, "always-on" stream of green electricity that could theoretically power the nation 24/7. The sheer scale of this ambition is staggering, as researchers estimate that the energy pulsing through Japan’s coastal waters could reach a capacity of 205 gigawatts—nearly enough to match the country’s entire current power generation. These turbines operate like inverted satellites, hovering in the water column and using sophisticated sensors to maintain stability against the crushing pressure of the depths. By transforming the silent, eternal movement of the Pacific into a high-tech power plant, Japan isn't just building a gadget; it is effectively turning the ocean into the planet’s largest, most reliable natural battery.show more

This is Cherry. Cherry is a young 4 year... old Doberman with a playful side, a smart mind, and lots of love to give to the people she trusts. She has a medium energy level, making her a great balance of active and relaxed. She enjoys walks, playtime with toys, and settling in for some downtime. Cherry appears to be housetrained and walks nicely on leash, which makes getting out and about together easy. She's also quite the student and already knows several basic commands like sit and down, plus a few fun tricks such as paw and roll over. She enjoys toys and natural chews, which are great outlets for her energy and curiosity. With familiar people, Cherry is affectionate and enjoys being near her humans. She can be a bit wary of strangers at first and may bark if someone approaches too quickly. With slow introductions and a little patience, she warms up nicely, often after the first one or two interactions. Cherry is still figuring out how to socialize with other dogs. While in the shelter, she has met both male and female dogs. She may start off a bit stiff and seems to have limited experience with dog play. As she relaxes, she can become more social, though her play style can be a bit pushy, and she has overcorrected when another dog approached her in a way she didn't like. Becaus of this, a dog-to-dog meet and greet is strongly recommended to ensure the right match. Cherry would do well with someone who appreciates a smart, engaging dog and is willing to give her time to build confidence with new people and experiences. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who loves to learn, play, and share her affection with her favorite people. Cherry needs our help. She’s a gorgeous dog. ❤️ Do you know anyone in the Palm Springs, California area that would be interested in Cherry? Looking for a Doberman Pinscher maybe?show more

Ahead of Hadron Energy beginning trading on Nasdaq under... the ticker $HDRN on May 26th, we wanted to share a glimpse of Hadron’s vision building the future of microreactors. Hadron Energy is developing the Halo Micro Modular Reactor (MMR), a compact, factory-built light-water reactor designed to deliver reliable, carbon-free power for AI data centers, industrial sites, remote communities, military applications, and critical infrastructure. Each Hadron MMR is designed to generate 10 MWe of reliable power and is transportable by truck or rail to support flexible deployment where power is needed most. By generating power directly on-site, Hadron’s microreactors may reduce reliance on extensive transmission and distribution infrastructure. Multiple units can be deployed in a modular format to meet growing demand, with a targeted fuel-cycle of 10 years and an intended 50-year useful life. Hadron’s microreactors leverage proven light-water technology which powers ~90% of the global nuclear power fleet today. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is most familiar with light-water designs, they have ~27,000 cumulative reactor years of operational history, and light-water avoids the risks associated with novel fuels or coolants. Hadron’s microreactors are designed with inherent and passive safety features and are installed below grade to maximize protection of the public and the environment. Hadron uses Low Enriched Uranium Plus (LEU+), enriched to approximately 8% U-235. This fuel builds on the same proven uranium fuel used in today’s commercial reactors while enabling longer operating cycles and efficient power output for microreactor applications through slightly higher enrichment. Because LEU+ remains within the existing regulatory framework, may support a more familiar licensing pathway relative to certain advanced reactor technologies. Most importantly, LEU+ leverages existing portions of the domestic light-water reactor fuel supply chain, which we believe may reduce fuel supply constraints relative to certain advanced reactor approaches dependent on HALEU or TRISO fuel. Our approach focuses on regulatory efficiency and standardized deployment. In October 2025, the NRC accepted Hadron’s Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) Topical Report for review, an important step in establishing the company’s regulatory foundation. Hadron maintains active engagement with the NRC through a dual-track pathway, pursuing both Manufacturing and Combined Licenses, while monitoring evolving NRC initiatives intended to support standardized deployment and serial manufacturing approaches for advanced reactors. Hadron’s leadership team brings decades of experience across nuclear plant operations, NRC licensing, reactor engineering, fuel design, and quality assurance, supported by engineers focused on moving from design through deployment efficiently. As electricity demand continues to accelerate globally, particularly across AI infrastructure and industrial applications, Hadron is targeting a growing market expected to exceed $7 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research. We believe light-water reactors continuing to produce reliable, 24/7 power, will play a critical role in the future of energy and national security. Please refer to Hadron Energy’s public SEC filings for additional information.show more

Major: The downing of the Israeli Heron TP MALE... UAV over the Lebanese Beqaa might be the most significant resistance operation in recent months, after introducing fpv explosive drones. Being able to hit and destroy one of Israel's primary strategic intelligence platforms, an asset relied upon for surveillance, target acquisition, and maintaining situational awareness deep across the battlefield, and updating strategic bank of targets. Hezbollah today sent a clear message: Israeli aerial activity is not immune from challenge, and even some of its most advanced intelligence assets remain vulnerable. In the last weeks, Hezbollah was not able to successfully hit any Hermes 450 despite firing more than 10 ManPADS missiles in separate operations. This resulted in Israeli drone activity increasing exponentially, with some days reaching 85 drone missile fired in 24 hours, and 10 to 12 killer and surveillance drones circling at the same time. Beyond the material loss, the operation represents a direct strike against the enemy's intelligence-gathering capabilities. In today's war, blinding the enemy can be more valuable as damaging its firepower. The fall of the Israeli "sky Queen" definitely was done by a longer range air defense missile, not mithaq 1 or 2. New weapons are entering service during war is a very good sign of control and long endurance and preparation. May God humiliate the Israelis and their supporters everywhere.show more

Kidney stones are hard deposits made of minerals and... salts. While smaller stones often pass naturally through hydration, larger or more stubborn stones require medical intervention to be cleared. Here are the 4 primary methods used by doctors: 1. Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL): This is the most common non-invasive treatment. A machine uses high-energy sound waves (shock waves) to create strong vibrations. These vibrations break the large stone into tiny "dust" or sand-like pieces that can then be passed through urine. 2. Ureteroscopy: For stones located in the ureter or kidney, a doctor may use a thin, flexible scope. The scope is passed through the bladder and up into the ureter. Once the stone is located, it is either captured in a small "basket" and removed or broken apart using a laser so the fragments can pass later. 3. Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL): This is typically reserved for very large or complex stones. A small incision is made in the patient's back to reach the kidney directly. A nephroscope is then used to locate and remove the stone, often using ultrasonic or laser energy to break it up first. 4. Natural Passage: For stones smaller than 5mm, the most common "removal" method is simply waiting. This requires high fluid intake (water) and often medication (like alpha-blockers) to help relax the muscles in the ureter, allowing the stone to pass with less pain. ⚠️ Note: If you are experiencing severe pain, nausea, or fever, it is important to consult a healthcare professional immediately, as these can be signs of a blockage or infection. Have you ever noticed an old farmhouse with two... front doors and wondered why? It looks unusual today, but it once made perfect sense in rural America. Many early farmhouses were built in phases. A single log or frame cabin came first, then a second room was added beside it as the family grew. Since each room was originally its own structure, each kept its own exterior entrance. When joined together, the house ended up with two front doors. There were practical reasons too. Separate doors helped keep private sleeping spaces apart from public living areas when visitors stopped by. It also made it easier to house extended family, hired farm workers, or boarders while maintaining some separation. And before air conditioning, paired doors and aligned openings helped create strong cross-breezes, making hot Southern summers more bearable inside. Once you start looking, you’ll notice these double-door farmhouses everywhere.show more

Hexagons and Octagons Those who follow football and coaching... will be well aware that there are trends that emerge and become the great break through in coaching, only to vanish quite quickly. A few stick around and become a staple. Such as the rondo, or the 4v4+4 Guardiola rondo variation. One that did not stick around in the coaching collective consciousness that possible should have was Thomas Tuchel’s use of hexagonal and octagonal playing areas in training sessions. Tuchel explained that cutting off the corners and angling the pitch forced “sharp diagonal” passes that would help break the press. The positioning of players outside the hexagon/octagon or players close to the edges will be manipulated into an open body shape by the angles of the pitch. Players are impacted by environmental constraints and embodied cognition, where the geography of the playing area influences their actions. This influence spreads to the creation of triangles and diamonds within the playing area due to the “funnel” like nature of the playing area. We can use the cut outside angles by placing bounce or target players on the exterior, influencing the movement and organisation internally. The inside players will not have to move wide as those areas are occupied. The internal players will seek to create passing angles using the positioning of the outside players and their internal team mates. The diamonds and triangles will appear. If we leave the spaces on the outside empty players can move to fill the spaces. These act as free spaces to receive from the goalkeeper or open spaces for attackers to overlap into, encouraging attacking combination play and crosses. A different way of using the space is to remove goals and goalkeepers from the ends and place bounce/target players on the outside. Players now can combine with the outside players, when they do so they are then free to finish into the outside goals. The condition can be extended to combining with the target player in the opposite side of the pitch before scoring, adding an element of switching play. The hexagon and octagon are versatile spaces that help to replicate aspects of the game. By funneling the spaces we impact players body shape, ability to play forward quickly, team shape (or small group shapes), players cutting in, defending centrally, the types of combination used and the angles of line breaking pass (diagonals). The angles are hugely significant for teams that value combinations and possession football, Straight passes and receiving angles are much easier to intercept and carry high risks for being counter attacked. Short diagonals can bypass players and attacking shapes, creating angled connections. If an angles pass is given away there is still a risk of being counter attacked but there is more chance of having players around the ball to regain possession. To counter press. The question that emerges is should we then be using hexagons and octagons more? If they are of greater benefit than squares and rectangles, why use them? Should all pitches, including those of a small sided nature be hexagonal? Can the rondo square be replaced by the rondo octagon?show more
