The three-body problem is a classic and notoriously difficult... question in physics and mathematics. It asks: How do three objects, such as stars, planets, or moons, move under the influence of each other’s gravity? Unlike the simpler two-body problem, which has precise and predictable analytical solutions (like the Earth orbiting the Sun in an ellipse), the three-body problem quickly becomes chaotic and unpredictable. This complexity arises because each object's motion constantly affects, and is affected by, the other two. These gravitational interactions form a tangled and unstable system. In fact, there's no general formula that can solve all three-body scenarios exactly. This was first demonstrated in the 19th century by Henri Poincaré, whose work laid the foundations for chaos theory. While exact solutions remain elusive, scientists have discovered certain special cases where the motion is stable or periodic. One well-known example is the Lagrange points, where three bodies can maintain a stable triangular configuration. However, such neat solutions are rare. Today, thanks to powerful computers, researchers can simulate three-body systems with remarkable accuracy, helping us study triple-star systems, exoplanets, and asteroid dynamics. Yet even small changes in the starting conditions can lead to dramatically different outcomes, highlighting the sensitive dependence on initial conditions that defines chaotic systems. The three-body problem is actually a specific case of the broader n-body problem, where n can be any number of interacting bodies. As n increases, the complexity and unpredictability rise even further. The three-body problem serves as a vivid example of how simple laws of nature, like Newton’s law of gravity, can produce behavior that is intricate, unexpected, and profoundly difficult to predict.show more

The final evolutionary step is acquiring a body made... of plasma, or an energy body that can manipulate electromagnetic waves. Jesus’ Transfiguration, or the glorified body, is exactly that—the highest form of plasma, because he is God himself, who came to Earth to show the right path. That is why during the Transfiguration, ‘His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.’ The Sun is plasma and it shines white. This concept was also present in ancient Egyptian religion, where the soul becomes the immortal Akh and transforms into a star. This is the concept of internal alchemy, and it is the ultimate purpose of our existence! Notice the Orthodox depictions of the Transfiguration, there is light surrounding the body. In the Tibetan Dzogchen mysteries, to ascend means to... literally transform the body into a body of light, known as the Tibetan Rainbow Body. During this process, the entire material body dissolves and transforms into pure energy, leaving only hair or nails behind. In modern scientific terms, the material body would reach its highest physical state — plasma — which reacts to electromagnetic forces far more strongly than to gravity or pressure. In Hermetic traditions, as the soul evolves, it no longer needs the physical body. In Ancient Egyptian philosophy, the soul becomes like the sun and the stars (Plasma) — it becomes the enlightened Akh. This is essentially where the evolution of the soul leads us. You can accelerate this process through spiritual mastery, but eventually it will happen on a mass level when the Great Year comes to its end.show more

The Reason christian theology and its apologetics think the... "perfect" state in Heaven is asexual is because its early theologians were influenced by Greek dualism, which came from Plato. This was the idea that the spirit is good, but the body (and its desires) is "fleshly" or corrupt. And so from early on Christian theologians like Augustine baked a deep-seated suspicion of physical pleasure into the faith. This created a fractured spirituality where the 'flesh' is seen as a rival to the soul In contrast, Islam teaches that the body is a trust from God, where even physical intimacy with a spouse is an act of Sadaqah (spiritual charity) that earns divine reward. Similarly, African traditions view the body holistically as the vessel of vital force and ancestral lineage, where there is no 'shame' in the physical because it is inseparable from the spiritual. This is precisely why many Christian critics attack Islamic concepts of Paradise, such as the Hooris. Because their own theology cannot reconcile holiness with pleasure, they view a physical afterlife as 'low' or 'profane.' They are unable to fathom a reality where physical ecstasy and spiritual devotion are interconnected, ultimately projecting their own cultural 'body-shame' onto traditions that have always seen the human experience as a unified, sacred whole."show more

Yesterday at Brown University ICERM's workshop on “Agentic Scientific... Computing and Scientific Machine Learning” I spoke about “Adaptive Swarms Across Scales”, making the case for scientific AI as systems that can create representations, stress them, fracture them, and enlarge the category in which future representations live. The category here is a composable and breakable working universe of science: data, hypotheses, simulations, measurements, tools, failures, figures, papers, provenance, and the transformations that connect them. Discovery happens when those transformations become executable, inspectable, composable, and capable of changing the world model they operate within. Atomistic modeling gives one category - states, forces, trajectories, observables, boundary conditions, conservation laws. Neural surrogates learn fast morphisms inside or between such categories. But discovery is higher-order: it changes which objects and morphisms are available in the first place: what variables exist, what operations are allowed, what evidence counts, what scale is active, what invariant is being preserved, and what kind of explanation the system is even capable of forming. This is scientific method as adaptive architecture: compression, stress, fracture, recomposition. Fracture matters here because it makes the logic physical: a non-commuting diagram realized in matter. The imposed load, material hierarchy, defect field, and assumed continuum description no longer map cleanly into the observed outcome. The crack is the obstruction and it identifies where the old morphism failed and where a new representation must be introduced. The physical crack and the categorical obstruction are the same event viewed in different substrates. ScienceClaw × Infinite is a machine for constructing and transforming a category of scientific artifacts. Each artifact is typed. Each operation has lineage. Each failed branch remains in the category as reusable structure. The “paper” is no longer the terminal object of science; it is one projection of a larger compositional trace, and it can be generated at any time for consumption by a human or an AI. With that the unit of scientific labor is changing. For most of the twentieth century the unit was the result (a measurement, a theorem, a synthesized molecule). It is now becoming the algorithm that produces results, and after that, the substrate of discovery itself. The static PDF is the wrong terminal object for this regime, and the role of the scientist with it. We now design algorithms that build algorithms, and eventually substrates in which such algorithms compose themselves. At that point, the scientist is no longer outside the discovery system. The scientist becomes one of the representations the system can transform. In that sense, the systems will eventually do science to us, and that is the structural consequence of the principle they are built on.show more

One of THE MOST impactful changes we can make... to urban roads in India is to maintain consistent road widths from one intersection to the next. Our current, variable road widths disrupt the orderly flow of traffic. For example, if there's just a bit of extra space on the side, auto-rickshaws attempt to squeeze in, causing chaos. If a road suddenly narrows from three lanes to two and a half, congestion follows. In cities like London, when extra right-of-way is found, the footpaths are widened up to the road. But in Mumbai, we tend to expand the road instead. The issue with this approach is that the number of private vehicles in a densely populated city like Mumbai can grow without limits. Expanding roads only encourages more vehicles. On the other hand, widening footpaths doesn't cause the same problem because the space required for pedestrians is limited—walking is highly space-efficient. #WalkingProjectshow more

🚨 NASA JUST SHARED THE CLEAREST VIEW YET OF... JUPITER’S MASSIVE HEXAGONAL STORM AT THE SOUTH POLE. This enormous, stable vortex roughly the width of Earth has been raging for years with a near-perfect hexagonal shape. At its center is a dark, powerful cyclone surrounded by turbulent, swirling bands of gas in constant motion. The hexagon is one of the most striking and mysterious atmospheric features in the Solar System. Scientists still don’t fully understand how it maintains its sharp, six-sided structure despite the chaotic winds around it. Why this matters: • It shows that giant planets can sustain extremely organized, long-lived weather systems on scales we don’t see on Earth • The hexagon is thought to be shaped by Jupiter’s rapid rotation and deep atmospheric dynamics • Studying it helps us understand how storms and atmospheric patterns work on gas giants in general including exoplanets • Juno’s close-up observations continue to reveal new details about the depth and structure of these polar vortices The deeper implication: Jupiter’s polar regions are turning out to be far more complex and structured than scientists expected. Features like this hexagon challenge our models of atmospheric physics and show that even in the most turbulent environments, nature can create remarkably stable, geometric patterns. As we study more gas giants (both in our Solar System and beyond), these kinds of observations help us understand the limits of weather, stability, and chaos on planetary scales. How do you think something this organized and long-lasting can exist in such a violent atmosphere? Follow for more frontier planetary science and stunning space imagery.show more

The fascinating concept of Non-Newtonian fluids, which transition from... a liquid state to a solid-like state when pressure is applied, has a rich history that spans several centuries. The study and understanding of these peculiar fluids have evolved over time, leading to a wide range of practical applications and scientific insights. One of the earliest references to Non-Newtonian behavior in fluids dates back to the 17th century when Sir Isaac Newton formulated the basic principles of fluid mechanics. Newton's laws of fluid motion primarily applied to Newtonian fluids, which exhibit constant viscosity and flow behavior regardless of the applied force or pressure. However, it soon became apparent that not all fluids behaved in this predictable manner. In the mid-19th century, a scientist named Thomas Andrews made significant contributions to the understanding of Non-Newtonian fluids. Andrews conducted groundbreaking experiments with carbon dioxide, revealing that under high pressure, this gas could transform into a liquid. This observation marked one of the earliest instances of pressure-induced phase changes in fluids. The term "Non-Newtonian" itself was coined in the 20th century to describe fluids that did not adhere to Newton's classical laws of fluid dynamics. These fluids exhibited a variety of behaviors, but one of the most intriguing was their ability to solidify or increase in viscosity when subjected to stress or pressure. One of the most famous examples of such behavior is cornstarch mixed with water, which forms a substance known as "oobleck" that becomes more solid when pressure is applied. In the modern era, Non-Newtonian fluids have found applications in various fields, including food science, engineering, and material science. They are used in products like quicksand, body armor, and even in the development of impact-resistant materials. One of the key insights that emerged from the study of Non-Newtonian fluids is the importance of understanding the relationship between stress and strain, as well as the influence of time-dependent properties on their behavior. This knowledge has led to advancements in rheology, the study of flow and deformation in materials, and has practical implications in areas such as industrial processing, medicine, and the design of everyday products.show more

Someone looked at me and decided my weight loss... must be stalled. I want to talk about what that assumption actually says. It says that if a woman does not look a certain way, she must be failing. It says the goal is to become small enough that strangers feel comfortable with your body. It says your progress is only valid if it is visible and ongoing and pointed toward a destination someone else approved. I have lost 140 pounds in less than a year. That is the equivalent of an adult person gone off my body. I am not stalled. I spent the last couple of months in a deliberate phase of metabolic healing before entering a body recomposition phase. That is not a plateau. That is a plan. And now it is time to build. I am adding the rebounder back. I am adding weights. I am tightening up what was keeping me from the next phase, because progress does not stop just because healing takes time. Metabolic health first, body recomposition second. That was never a detour. That was always the path. The body you are in right now is not a problem to be solved. Mine is healing. Mine is getting stronger. And where I am in my journey is nobody’s business until I decide to make it that way. Meat. Mindset. Movement. All three. In that order.show more

Every golfer knows the feeling… you get to the... top, you’re fully wound, and there’s that urge to hit from the top. That’s the Hit Impulse. The problem? The harder we try to fire our hands and arms early, the more we rob ourselves of sequence and compression. Power doesn’t come from panic — it comes from order. Here, I’m relaxing my arms as much as possible. Almost to the point of feeling passive. That softness allows my lower body to initiate, my legs to glide, and my core to unwind the club the way it was designed to move. When the arms stay supple, the body can dominate. It’s counterintuitive… but that patience at the top is what creates that heavy, compressed strike we’re all chasing. Faith in humanity is a rational hope that, by... choosing the path of reason and compassion, it can overcome its own limits and rise to the level of a mature civilization. : The author defines faith in humanity as a rational hope grounded in reality rather than wishful thinking. It is the conviction that by consciously choosing the path of reason and compassion, humanity can overcome its own limitations and rise to the level of a mature civilization. This faith acknowledges our flaws selfishness, short-sightedness, tribalism but refuses to accept them as permanent. It trusts in our demonstrated capacity for growth, learning, and moral progress. Reason gives us the tools to understand and solve problems; compassion gives us the motivation to use those tools for the benefit of all. When these two forces work together, they become a powerful transformative current capable of reshaping societies, institutions, and human relations. Faith in humanity is therefore not passive belief but an active orientation a commitment to build, to improve, and to aspire higher, even when the path is difficult. It is the quiet but firm assertion that we are not doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. We can do better, and we should.show more

LEONARDO, also called LEO, was built by researchers at... Caltech’s Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies. Its full name means LEgs ONboARD drOne. The idea is simple but unusual: • Build a small biped robot • Give it drone-style thrust • Use the legs for ground contact • Use the propellers for balance and lift • Combine walking, hopping and flying in one system LEO is basically a hybrid between a walking robot and a flying drone. How it was built: • Two lightweight legs • Three actuated joints in each leg • Four propeller thrusters near the shoulders • A lightweight body • Leg motors for ground movement • Propellers for balance, lift and aerial control • Real-time control software that synchronizes the legs and propellers How it walks: • The legs move the robot forward • The feet touch the ground like a normal biped • The propellers constantly correct balance from above • The robot can stay upright even in unstable situations • The thrust reduces the risk of falling during difficult motions How it flies: • The legs stop being the main locomotion system • The four propellers generate lift • The robot behaves more like a drone • It can take off, fly over obstacles and land back on its legs What makes it different: • It does not walk like a normal humanoid • It does not fly like a normal drone • It blends both systems • The legs handle contact with the ground • The propellers act like fast stabilizers • The control system decides how much help comes from the legs and how much comes from thrust That is why LEO can: • Walk • Hop • Fly over obstacles • Ride a skateboard • Balance on a slackline The key idea is walking with aerial stabilization.show more

The Bro Split that every young lad gets sold... on looks like this.⠀ ⠀ Monday: Chest⠀ Tuesday: Back⠀ Wednesday: Rest⠀ Thursday: Legs⠀ Friday: Shoulders⠀ Saturday: Arms⠀ Sunday: Rest⠀ ⠀ And yes, Arnold did it. Arnold also took enough drugs to sedate a medium-sized country, so perhaps not the most transferable template.⠀ ⠀ The problem is simple. Each muscle here gets hit once a week. Train hard enough and you'll trigger a window of muscle protein synthesis that runs for roughly 2-3 days. After that the window closes, and the muscle fibres begin to catabolise slowly. The back half of the week isn't neutral. It's quietly eroding the growth stimulus you picked up on Monday.⠀ ⠀ Once a week is not a holding pattern. It's a losing one.⠀ ⠀ The fix is training each muscle at least twice. An upper/lower split does this cleanly.⠀ ⠀ Monday: Upper⠀ Tuesday: Lower⠀ Wednesday: Rest⠀ Thursday: Upper⠀ Friday: Rest⠀ Saturday: Lower⠀ Sunday: Rest⠀ ⠀ Same days in the gym. Every muscle getting two shots at the growth window per week instead of one.⠀ ⠀ If there's a specific muscle you want to bring up faster, glutes being the obvious example, you can push that to three times a week with a full body approach, hitting the priority muscle first in every session when you're freshest.⠀ ⠀ Monday: Full Body (glutes first)⠀ Wednesday: Full Body (glutes first)⠀ Friday: Full Body (glutes first)⠀ ⠀ More frequent stimulus. More growth windows captured. Less of the week spent sliding backwards.⠀ ⠀ The Bro Split isn't useless. It just isn't optimal. And if you're going to spend the time, you may as well spend it on something that actually works.⠀ ⠀ Minimum twice a week per muscle. Three if you're serious about a lagging group. The rest is just detail.show more

When we start adding characters, it becomes very difficult to achieve the exact animation, gesture, or movement we are looking of all of them in a single generation. In addition, the more characters are added, the more rigid Seedance 2.0 animations become in order to maintain consistency. This is especially visible in styles with squash and stretch and rubber hose animations, where the characters deform their body parts as if they were made of rubber, or in highly expressive movement animations in anime. For these cases, it is better to work on each animation separately and recompose it at the end into a video. Workflow + Prompts 👇show more

Asmongold shows how easy it is to fool MAGA... bots that the Iran war is going well. He believed a fake graph of Iranian missile launches. The numbers are made up and the source at the bottom is "IDF Spokesperson". The graph is three days old and predicted Iran would basically be out of missiles by today. The problem is, Iran has launched several waves of missiles TODAY ALONE and they've successfully targeted Israel multiple times along with several US bases. A US base is currently on fire! The building targeted housed a stockpile of patriot missiles which are in very short supply. Satellite imagery shows that over the course of thenl last week, Iran has destroyed a large portion of the radar, communications and air defense installations at most of the largest US bases in the region. None of this is known to Asmongold. He just sees a fake graph and says "these are the facts". The only thing aspect of this graph that's true is that Iran has reduced the total number of missiles and drones launched because the enemy interception rate has plummeted following the destruction of air defense systems and depletion of interceptors. Simply put, it takes fewer and fewer missiles and drones to strike targets, which allows Iran's stockpiles to last MUCH longer. This is very much a GOOD thing for Iran.show more
