Why Elon and Nikita pushed Japan so hard this... past week: It’s a business decision, not vibes. 1.X wants Japan. X has hit No. 1 in Japan’s App Store news rankings multiple times, but Yahoo Japan still dominates overall in scale and daily news consumption. Japan is a massive market, and Elon wants to weaken Yahoo Japan’s hold on it. 2.They needed a country to showcase auto-translation. Nikita is a product guy through and through (so am I, no shade). The same way he pushed Articles in January, now he’s pushing auto-translation. That’s the play. Articles never fit this platform. They’re too long, nobody reads them, and I stopped writing them six months ago. Has anyone written or read an article since January? Japan is just the latest marketing push. 3.There is a political angle. Elon uses this platform to drive politics(I am Thankful for this). This is pretty wild.. but, read the end... User... on X shows a plane with a “VANCE2” callsign, appearing to be drawing Charlie Kirk. Other users have confirmed. See video. However, I just read up on this and found out there is a well-documented ADS-B community who use spoofing pranks that is easy to do if you know what you’re doing. Basically, Spoofers are feeding fake data directly to ADS-B Exchange's servers (no real transponder needed—just internet submission of bogus positions/altitudes/callsigns). So... Vertical tabs are out in Chrome. I thought... it would make me switch back to it, I really thought it was the one thing I needed in Chrome. I currently use Dia , but here's the thing. In comparison, the implementation of vertical tabs in Chrome is just awful. It barely changed since I saw it in beta. I thought it would greatly improve during the beta phase, but it did not. So here's everything I dislike about it compared to Dia: 1. It's super laggy. 2. When collapsed, the sidebar moves down, meaning the position of the expand/collapse button shifts down too, making it much harder to find. (I ironically couldn't find the first few seconds of the video specifically because of that) 3. No keyboard shortcut to expand/collapse. 4. Collapsed doesn't move the tabs out of view, they are just tiny. 5. The amount of tabs per line in the grid of pinned tabs is not adjusted depending on the number of tabs. 6. In collapsed mode, all the pinned tabs are now in a column, which can push the actual tabs quite far down. ----- It's just awful. It was built into Chrome as a way to just say "hey we also have vertical tabs!" But the UX is simply awful. This has to be the worst implementation of vertical tabs I've seen so far yet, sadly. Sharing my new skill! It keeps track of high-signal... X accounts for top AI news, papers, projects, etc. Total gamechanger for me. Built with X MCP tools. Give your agent the skill and tell it to generate the artifact with top stories. Works for Codex, Claude, Hermes, OpenClaw, or whatever you use. 3 steps: 1. Set up X MCP - X API: 2. Install skill here: 3. Run prompt: "Use the x-agent-intelligence skill to build a self-contained local feed from my X MCP connection; ask for my source handles if needed, save feed.html, and validate it." It should generate a nice, beautiful HTML artifact like the one shown in the clip. You can tune it however you want. You can then set a schedule/automation to do this daily or whatever cadence you prefer. I have it every 4 hours. You will need to curate the X accounts yourself, but I have shared a few good ones under the assets. You can ask your agent to tune it to however you like. I built a clone of the Yeezy store with... Next.js. This was a fun challenge — the site has some smooth animations and feels very fast. But it was bothering me that I couldn't use the browser back button. Can we do better? So I rebuilt the site with v0 and Motion. Here's how it works: 1. When you click on a product, Motion is able to animate the original position of the product in the grid, to the zoomed in product detail page. 2. During this transition, we also shallow update the URL with the `/p/slug` route for the page. 3. If you press the back button in the navbar, or use the browser back button, or press escape — all options will take you back to the main product listing page. 4. If you reload the page while looking at a product, or someone sends you a link to a specific product, it still works! This is the best parts of a SPA and MPA mixed together. In the future, I can make this even better with View Transitions (I wasn't able to get the product animation just right, but if you can I'd love to see it!). I also took some creative liberties from the original design. The whole 1/2/3 size thing, where you needed to click the "?" to see SM/MD/LG was strange, so I just went directly to those sizes. Similarly, I prefered the more traditional style sheet/modal with the background color change, versus the full screen takeover. If you wanted to actually hook this up to Shopify now, you can swap the cart implementation with Next.js Commerce, which has all the APIs you need + optimistic writes 🔥 Should I make a video walking through the code?show more
