This looks like another step toward removing the data bottleneck in robotics. The bottleneck exists because recording demonstrations is easy, but labeling every grasp, hold, move, and release is slow and expensive. Perceptron Egocentric dropped a new robotics video annotation system. You give it raw robot-camera or first-person/egocentric video. It gives back structured labels that look more like training data: where each small manipulation starts and ends, what the subtask is, what each hand is doing, where the hands are frame by frame, and which hand is left or right. So, Input: raw video of a person or robot doing a task. Output: a machine-readable breakdown of the physical actions inside that video. Basically, it is a machine that converts robot video into policy-training supervision. That means timestamps, subtask boundaries, per-hand actions, and left-right hand grounding. So this will turn large piles of robot or egocentric video into supervision for training robot policies.

The bionic details on this machine are incredible, especially those lifelike hooves. It looks like a living creature rather than just another quadruped robot. Xynova just launched Flex 2, its second-gen hybrid dexterous hand — and Xiaomi is already on the cap table. 🤖✋ The spec sheet is sharp: 23 DOF, 400g palm, ±0.1mm repeatability, 0.05N force control, 12kg single-hand grasp load, and multimodal sensing for adaptive grasping and slip detection. Xynova is not only building a robotic hand. It is building the manipulation stack around it: micro linear actuators, joint modules, sensing, control, and developer-facing integration. The Xiaomi link is confirmed. Xiaomi Strategic Investment joined Xynova’s angel round and continued adding in the Pre-A round. What is not confirmed: whether Xiaomi’s own robot hand uses Xynova’s technology. That detail still has no public proof. But the direction is clear: Xiaomi is putting money into the component layer that decides whether humanoids can actually handle objects, tools, and daily tasks. This is the part of robotics that rarely looks flashy on stage. But it decides what a robot can really do with its hands.

Can a dexterous hand still function after being run over by a 2-ton car? The dexterous hand is the most expensive component of a humanoid robot, and if it breaks, the task is interrupted. Hangzhou BrainCo conducted a rigorous test on its latest dexterous hand, Revo2: it was run over by a nearly 2-ton Volvo car, dropped from a height of 5m, dropped 30m, and subjected to forceful impacts from a Unitree G1 robot. It still managed to maintain a stable grip and continue operating. Revo2 is BrainCo's next-generation dexterous/bionic hand, released last year. yes, a human-robot hybrid hand. It's very light, only 383g, 20kg payload,capable of precision manipulation down to 0.1mm (such as threading a needle), and possesses multi-dimensional tactile perception (hardness, texture, direction, proximity, etc.). This test also demonstrates that after achieving breakthroughs in performance, a dexterous hand also needs to be extremely durable and able to function under extreme environmental pressures.

Feeling what a robot feels is becoming real! 🫰 Fluid Reality just ran its first full end-to-end touch teleoperation system, and the demo shows why high-resolution haptics might be the missing piece in robot control. A 22 mm fingertip display with 32 independently actuated “bubbles” was mapped directly to tactile sensors on a robot hand. 🫧 Three fingers streamed real-time touch data robot → human, giving the operator actual contact feedback instead of waving their hands blind, like most teleop systems today. It’s still early, but this is a real step toward dexterous ops and high-quality data for training Physical AI systems. Companies involved: Samsung Electronics, Alt-Bionics, Inc. Clone has pioneered anthropomorphic hands with 27 degrees of freedom, human-level grip strength and speed, and the most durable artificial muscles in the world.
