Donald Trump talks about the brother who saved him from alcohol. Donald Trump: I had a great brother who taught me a lesson, don’t drink. Don’t drink. And he said, don’t smoke. He smoked and he drank and he was a great guy. He was a handsome, very handsome guy. Theo Von: Is he older? Donald Trump: Quite a bit older, yeah. He had a problem with alcohol and smokes a lot. But, you know, I tell people, no drugs, no drinking, no cigarettes. Theo Von: Yeah. Donald Trump: I tell that to my kids all the time. I’d say, no drugs, no drinking, no smoke… he’d always tell me… don’t ever drink. Don’t ever drink… His name was Fred. Fred Trump. And he had a problem with alcohol. He got addicted to it… they say alcohol is tougher than drugs to get off of. Theo Von: Yeah, I’m in recovery, actually. I’ve been in recovery, so, like, most of the last ten years from alcohol, from drugs and alcohol. Donald Trump: Which is worse? Theo Von: Drugs is the problem, but if I have a drink, then I… It’s tougher for me to prevent myself from getting drugs. It sets off a chain. Donald Trump: Yeah….but which is harder to quit. I’ve heard alcohol is harder to quit than drugs, if that makes sense. Theo Von: Oh, yeah. I mean alcohol, I can only imagine because it’s probably more readily available. Donald Trump: Right. But, yeah. So you have a problem with that? Theo Von: Yeah, It’s been in my family. Donald Trump: Can you… Can you stay away from it? Theo Von: Yeah, I’ve done a good job. Donald Trump: I mean, how long have you been off? Theo Von: I go to recovery meetings. I’ve been off most recently to a little over two years. Donald Trump: Do you ever go back on? Theo Von: Yeah, I’ve had stints where I go back on. And, um. And… And you don’t control it? Uh, it’s… It gets… It goes down. So you think it’s gonna be. You think you’re controlling. Oh, and then you’re… Damn. Yeah, you’re doing stuff. Go kart and racing with hookers and stuff. It gets bad not to do it.

260124 wv live 🐰: i actually had a drink for the first time in 4 or 5 months recently, and woah... i used to have a liver of steel 🐶: a what? 🐰: my liver was like steel, so i could drink quite a lot, but i can’t do it anymore. i can’t anymore. i need to distance myself from alcohol even more. i just can’t drink anymore. 🐶: a glass... a glass liver 🐰: but jeno, you drink when you have to 🐶: but the aftermath is so hard 🐰: because fans seem to love hearing stories about drinking more than the actual drinking itself. they’re so curious about our tolerance or what our drinking habits are like. 🐶: i don’t even know what my tolerance is 🐰: jeno’s... if he really, like... 🐶: if i want to act like a lightweight, i can definitely act like one 🐰: haven’t we sat down and properly gone for drinks before? or no? rather than sitting down for drinks with jeno, it’s more like we just ended up drinking a lot by accident? 😄 but if you can act like a lightweight, it means you’re actually a strong drinker. right. 🐶: what i mean is, i don’t know where my limit is. is a blackout the end of your tolerance? 🐰: right, a blackout is the end, but the problem is... 🐶: but doesn’t that change depending on your condition that day? 🐰: true. jeno can drink at least 4 bottles. 🐶: what are you talking about? 😄 🐰: aren’t we talking about soju? 🐶: are you guys talking about soju right now? 🐰: yeah, if it’s soju, i think you’d hit 4 bottles 🐶: no way, maybe one? i think i’d want to stop after one bottle 🐰: no, no. i mean /enduring/ it. how far can you go if you push through with willpower? like, if there’s a moment where you absolutely /have to/ drink that much. you’d have to endure it. 🐶: i’ve never tried 4 bottles, though 🐰: but usually, i only drink whisky with jeno. because soju is bad for your skin and it takes a long time for the alcohol to break down. so high-proof alcohol like whisky, this is a bit of a lifestyle tip... 🐶: it’s not 4 bottles for me~ 🐰: high-proof alcohol like whisky, it actually just leaves your system entirely because it’s so strong 🐶: even one bottle is hard for me. and i barely drink anyway. even the whisky, i only tried it because of jaemin. 🐰: true 🐶: if it weren’t for jaemin, i’d have never tried whisky 🐰: but don’t you think whisky is the cleanest? especially for when you’re working out. if you have to drink. 🐶: it’s too strong... 🐰: it is strong, indeed. like that feeling when you first take a sip... 🐶: people say things like ‘whisky gives you less of a hangover’ or ‘it’s clean,’ but none of it feels clean to me 😄 the next day is just hard 🐰: from what i can see, i think we both just get hangovers

Never normalize alcohol use on social media. It can trigger persons trying to quit the habit or those who are abstinent get back on the destructive path. Look at this guy as an example. He is everything a human being must not be. He has a huge following on Instagram and this video has been watched by more than 100K people. He calls himself "Ashdin Doctor." People may think he is actually a Doctor, but "Doctor" is his surname. He has a Bachelors degree in Arts and Masters in Marketing Management. But here he is, advising people how to drink alcohol the right way. This video is utter garbage. His advice is targeted at preventing "dehydration" due to alcohol consumption. Dehydration is NOT the ONLY issue with alcohol consumption. Here are real issues with alcohol use whether or not, you choose to drink more water in between. 1. Alcohol use has been consistently linked to an increased risk of cancer. The type of alcohol - beer, wine, vodka or rum, does not change this risk. Even those who consume one drink per day have an increased risk. Even low dose of alcohol over short and long periods increases risk of terrible cancers. Cancers of the head & neck, esophagus (food pipe), liver, breast and colon/rectum are strongly linked to alcohol use. & & 2. Even occassional or low dose alcohol use such as one to two drin ks a day or few drinks in a week reduces the brain volume. Drinking one to two alcohol drinks a day increases brain aging: it "ages" the brain faster, by 2 years. If it is two to three drinks a day, then the brain changes are equivalent to brain shrinking and aging faster by three and half years. & 3. Even low/modest alcohol use reduces fertility in women and men. Lower chances of getting pregnant and the risk for reduced live births in women and due to fertility issues in men has been strongly linked to alcohol use - low doses and worsens with modest increments. & 4. Alcohol use is associated with male to female partner violence, perpetration and victimization of violence and early-childhood trauma & & 5. That low dose/modest daily alcohol use improves survival or increases life expectancy has been swept away into the garbage with a recent high powered metanalysis paper. No level of alcohol use is beneficial for human health. And recent studies show that increasing level of alcohol kills women more than men for the same dose and duration of use. Look for credible sources for healthcare information. Develop a critical thinking to filter medical/healthcare information for your benefit. A normal person would never make a video on how to drink alcohol. Alcohol is a known poison. A person may have many followers and well-edited videos and click-bait titles. But remember, they have nothing to lose if YOU get into harms way. The best part is, Ashdin Doctor, the Instagram influencer is a "Habit Coach" (FFS) and has written a children's book, titled The "Book of Good Habits For Kids" - but here he is, advising his followers how to drink alcohol better. There is some real cognitive dissonance happening and people must learn to spot such fakes on social media. IVM Podcasts should grow a brain before they host such unintelligent life forms on your platform. Stay informed and stay safe.
