The commercial fishing industry is to blame for at least 30% of this and probably more. Look at all the buoys and fish crates. In addition, commercial fishing is going to cause REAL global warming challenges through the destruction of the oceans carbon capture capacity.

IDK - maybe get Asian countries to stop dumping trash into the ocean? It's lack of waste infrascture that is causing this.

This is an honest days work! Thank you for taking on this challenge and cleaning up our oceans ❤🌎

@BoyanSlat Do we have graphs of all catches of all systems total and per system? Hard to keep track now. Would be great.

@BoyanSlat @MyInvestingAcc2 To keep track of the total amount of trash removed, please check out our dashboard here:

Brilliant work! What happens to it now?

@LynneThomson7 We want to give ocean plastic a new life by working with partners to recycle and transform it into durable plastic products. Read more about waste management at

@oryxspioenkop Any of these countries helping to pay for this ?

Can we have an update on number or rivers which are being covered by your river trash collector system. Every County should focus on its river allowing less and less plastic to get into oceans.

If you scroll down on our Rivers page, you can find all deployed Interceptors and their location:
