Is it possible to have a automatic plastic recycling plant setup there. So that all the plastic is directly diverted to this plant and everything gets recycled then and there. This will save lot of fuel, transportation time, labour, etc.

It has been astounding to see the volume of plastic garbage floating through that river. It makes me question the general quality of conditions in Guatemala that the people there are forced to live with. It also brings to question the quality and safety of produce grown there. 121 truckloads of trash won’t end up in the Caribbean Sea, thanks to Interceptor 006. The trash we find in rivers such as Las Vacas consists of lighter, softer plastics such as bottles, single-use containers, and packaging, alongside a portion of glass, metal, sand, and organics. Together with partners, we work on identifying appropriate destinations for each waste stream. For instance, some of the PET bottles we sorted from previous catches in Guatemala were used to create a limited edition LP in partnership with Coldplay.

Hear it from Guillermo, who was on site when it broke back in 2022. After its failure, we deployed Interceptor 006 and 021, which are now successfully stopping trash from reaching the Gulf of Honduras.

CM Thiru M.K.Stalin has just sanctioned the TN Coastal Restoration Mission for 14 coastal districts in TN at a cost of Rs 1675 Crores.
