A guy named Philip turned every old iPhone and iPad into a working second monitor for free. It is called OpenDisplay. It gives your Mac a real extended display using an Apple device you already own. You can use it for: > Messages > Spotify > Documentation > Video previews > Terminal windows > Reference material Download the sender on your Mac and the receiver on your iPhone or iPad. Connect them using WiFi or the charging cable. Your Mac creates another display, and you can drag any window onto it exactly like a normal monitor. The screen runs at native Retina resolution and can reach 60 FPS over USB. You can tap to click, drag windows with your finger, scroll using two fingers, and rotate the device into portrait mode. It even supports several devices at the same time. What I really like about this is that it doesn't need an account or subscription or some special dongle. For years every device had the same trouble outside. In direct sun the screen glares and washes out and heats up and instead of your work you see your own reflection. But e-ink does not blast its own light into your face. It reflects the sunlight like the page of a book. And here is what came out of it. The very thing that kills any normal screen outside turned into fuel for this one. The brighter the sun the sharper the picture because it has nothing to glare with and nothing to wash out. And then comes the thing no laptop on a beach will give you. Your eyes do not get tired. You can watch Opus think on max effort for an hour and it reads like a book in the sun and not a backlight you squint into. The picture only comes alive. I vibe coded an application with Gemini 3 that let's you pick up a pencil and actually start drawing on a piece of paper. The assets are 3D which adds another layer of immersion just purely for fun. Try it here You can't start drawing until you literally click on the pencil to pick it up. You can also switch to a marker or use the eraser on the pencil. If you don't like the drawing you can crumple the paper and throw it in the trash. It will then place a new piece of paper on the table and you have to pick up the pencil again to start drawing again. I added a learn section on the app that links to youtube channels where you can also learn how to draw. It's quite fun to use, it's basically like using a super simplified version of photoshop or paint. It works with a wacom tablet, just can't seem to figure out how to get pressure sensitivity enabled.

Here’s what you need to know: In 3 words: Speed, stability, dynamism ✔ Speed: This new version allows you to animate an image in a few seconds, much faster than previous versions. ✔ Stability: Until now, Vidu was way too dynamic, and we had very little control over it, making storytelling particularly complicated. This version is extremely stable, allowing you to create stories easily. ✔ Image Style Fidelity: This version is extremely faithful to your image styles, something the previous version of Vidu had a lot of trouble with, as it always tried to change the appearance and texture of characters. This version perfectly retains the image style! For example, at 00:19. ✔ Transitions: The transitions have been greatly improved; they are also very stable! At 00:16, you have examples of transitions. It's also a big step forward! ✔ Better Prompt Understanding: Another excellent thing for storytelling! ✔ I also note Vidu 2.0's ability to identify tiny characters and animate them dynamically, which is really great!! You can see it at 00:22. In this animation, I tried to use all of these features. ❌ Negative Point: This exceptional stability gain is at the expense of movement.
