Rigathi Gachagua’s willingness to attend Raila Odinga’s burial is a reminder that even in the darkest moments of grief, unity must prevail over vengeance. Raila Odinga’s life was never defined by hatred — it was defined by forgiveness, resilience, and an unshakable belief that Kenya can heal, no matter how deep the wounds run. In Kasarani he forgave Moi, the man whose regime denied him peace. He embraced Kibaki, the president whose government humiliated him. The value proposition for Gachagua for me, from an ODM perspective, is that he is taking away votes that helped beat us in 2022. For as long as he is taking away votes from Ruto, I don’t care where he takes them; he is not giving William Ruto. If Raila Odinga were to get the exact same number of votes that he got in 2022 in 2027 and William Ruto loses Mt Kenya, Raila will be President. Walmart always asks to check your receipts if they see items not in bags as it could be an indication they weren’t paid for, but many of the time it’s the simple fact they don’t have bags big enough for the items. So when this man tried to leave with a few large items in his cart, they asked to see his receipt, which he refused. They threaten to call the police and follow him into the parking lot and continue to harass him. Did he do this on purpose to make a scene because he actually didn’t pay for everything or do you feel he’s right when he says they are accusing him of stealing?
