Maybe Game Graphics have really peaked in 2015 This is a modded version of Battlefront, no need for any fancy tech like Ray Tracing or Path Tracing to look photorealistic. Video Credit: jackfrags

Proof that you don't need Ray Tracing and Path Tracing to make a Game look beautiful. Kingdom Come Deliverance II has none of these techniques being used, it only uses a global illumination technique called voxel cone tracing As a result KCD2 runs and looks amazing on PC.

This is some actual 007 First Light gameplay footage while driving. Honesty the performance here looks extremely rough, thankfully the game isn't out in this state which leaves a lot of room for improvement, hopefully the devs can sort it out by the time the game comes out.

Ray Tracing vs Path Tracing in #PRAGMATA . Path Tracing looks stunning, no doubt, but do we really need it for basic effects like casting a shadow or adding shading beneath the car? Or to properly shade characters’ faces? I think the answer is a clear NO.

Pragmata Demo Gameplay The Game looks like its very well optimized and I haven't encountered any form of stuttering at Ultra Settings with Ray Tracing turned on You can check out this game for free on Steam if you're playing on PC I like how this is an action-style game with quick puzzles that you have to solve during a fight, 2026 is going to be an amazing year for gaming.

A weird issue that I'm having with the PC version of 007 First Light is some textures don't seem to load properly and are extremely low resolution. I don't think it could be related to low VRAM since I'm running this game on an RX 9070 XT which has 16 GB of VRAM and can't pinpoint what exactly causes this.

I tested out Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing turned on with RX 9070 XT now that FSR Redstone is out. By using the new FSR Redstone and FSR ML Based Frame-Gen, the game reaches up to 130FPS in 1440p with FSR set to Performance Mode. The performance gains are not that much higher compared to the previous versions of FSR but the image quality got a huge upgrade, especially when using Frame-Gen. This ML based Frame Gen is much better than the previous version as it gets rid of most artifacts and ghosting caused by the previous version. If for some reason you always wanted to play Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing turned on on an AMD GPU, now you can enjoy a playable experience with 100+ FPS on an RX 9070 XT. I still don't recommend it though as the frame pacing and input lag still feels off for me, I'd just rather play this without Frame Gen and Path Tracing. I'm going to test out Black Myth: Wukong next

This is the absolute worst mission in MindsEye, I'm really tempted to uninstall this game after my 7th failed attempt because of this stupid chase mission and that stupid tree. Worst thing that grinds my gears is that once you fail here, you'll have to start the chase from the beginning which and you have to hear the same cringe conversation the whole time again.

I revisited MindsEye to see if things have improved So far the game still feels like it is on its early alpha stage, you can free roam via Arcadia mode but the open world is shallow and empty, you still do basic things like hijacking cars, like the ones that have NPCs on them because there is probably not an animation for that, you can't even hijack parked cars. Performance is much better though, so I guess that's a plus

In Far Cry 2, shooting an enemy in the leg causes him to retreat and crawl back to a safer spot. In another instance, you can see that another NPC quickly comes to aid his friend that has just been shot. This was in 2008 and in-game character AI was seemingly a hundred times smarter and better than the games that we see from Ubisoft today. In fact, most recent Ubisoft games, shooting an NPC in the leg doesn't even do anything that is close to this, no one comes to aid or anything like that... Visuals have been progressing so much lately and you'd think the same would go for in-game features like NPCs not being braindead, but for some reason NPC AI has evolved backwards on a large number of video-games, not just Ubisoft. Always kills me that Ubisoft with a 2008 game like Far Cry 2 has this level of interactivity and fidelity. It runs on a toaster and still looks relatively decent. They have water reflections with the two camera technique, at the cost that water must always be at the same height.
