What would a World Model look like if we start from a real embodied agent acting in the real world? It has to have: 1) A real, physically grounded and complex action space—not just abstract control signals. 2) Diverse, real-life scenarios and activities. Or in short: It has to be annoyingly complex—in both the action and vision space—to even get close to real life. We did an initial attempt: Whole-Body Conditioned Egocentric Video Prediction. In collaboration with @dans_t123 , Amir Bar, Yann LeCun , trevordarrell and Jitendra MALIK. (For more details, check: What we did is very simple: Predict Egocentric Video from human Actions (PEVA) - Given the past video and a future action represented by relative 3D body pose, PEVA predicts how the world looks next—from the first-person view. By conditioning on kinematic pose trajectories, structured by the joint hierarchy of the body, it learns how physical actions shape perception.

Robots are getting smarter, but most still fail the same way. They don’t learn from their own mistakes. A new paper proposes something different: a way for robots to self-improve directly from their failures in the real world. It’s called PLD (Probe, Learn, Distill). The idea: instead of collecting endless human demos, let the robot figure out where it fails, learn how to recover, and then distill that knowledge back into its main model. Key takeaways from the research: ✅ Uses residual reinforcement learning to recover from policy failures ✅ Achieves 99% success on LIBERO and 100% on real Franka and YAM arms ✅ Runs hour-long manipulation tasks without human resets ✅ Builds a feedback loop between real-world data and model adaptation Unlike supervised fine-tuning, which relies on humans, PLD learns from the robot’s own experience. World models are the next-gen foundation of Physical AI, not the VLM backbones found in typical VLAs. DreamZero is a 14B-parameter World Action Model (WAM) by NVIDIA that treats robotics as a joint video-and-action prediction task. Testing robot policies on hardware is slow, expensive and hard to scale. World models offer a promising path to accelerating robot policy development. We're sharing new research from the Runway Robotics team, in which we simulated 8 robot policies inside our General World Model and found 0.95 correlation with real-world results. Those early results point to world model simulation as a practical substitute for hardware evaluation, comparing favorably to existing real-to-sim approaches. Learn more at the link below.

Introducing WorldForge: testable world-model workflows for physical AI systems. You can think of it, loosely, as “LangChain for world models”. The problem is that “world model” has become an overloaded label. Depending on context, it can mean a video generator, a cost model, a robot policy, a JEPA-style latent predictor, etc. They share almost nothing, different inputs, runtimes, failure modes. I built WorldForge to stop pretending they're interchangeable. Front-door demo: a real Hugging Face LeRobot (LeRobot) diffusion_pusht policy combined with LeWorldModel by Lucas Maes checkpoint for scoring. Both run locally on my MacBook in the demo video. LeWM is extremely efficient (~15M params), can plan up to 48× faster, and runs on commodity hardware. WorldForge wires the loop: policy → candidates → score → select Replay happens in a local TUI today, but the same loop could drive a real robot in the world. Would love feedback from people working on world models, physical AI, robotics, ML infra, and adjacent tooling. Fully open source. Contributions very welcome. Plan in the dream, replay in real world.
