Don't know enough about these to say how accurate the 3D models are, but from what I can tell, at least the main structures are there. Tried both Tripo and Hunyuan3D. Tripo seems to give better results overall.

@srikosuri thanks Amy. will check it out and will probably use it in a future demo

@jreuben1 Looks incredible. This is the kind of thing a textbook publisher would have spent hundreds of thousands of dollar on a few years ago. Great work.

@jreuben1 thanks! yeah one of my goals is to convince people now you no longer need a huge budget to make awesome things like this

I love it! I’m learning biology at night with a custom skills.md that uses AskUserQuestion to quizz me and it shows me ASCII which sucks compared to what you have. I prefer to see a white cell the way you present it

thanks! that's awesome, I'm also learning quite a lot just by making these demos!

I tried to make 3D sites all day. Basically did most of the rest of what you can do with AI but I am genuinely stumped.

So cool. Any chance you think it's possible to build an interactive world map in this style?

Dilum Sanjaya's profile picture
Dilum Sanjaya4 months ago

thanks!, I was trying to do something similar a couple of months ago, but I couldn't find a good data source. In the ones I did find, the height data seemed off or nonexistent in some areas, so it didn't look smooth. I'll probably give it another try

same here - tried using mapbox but wasn't able to get it working. would be sick if possible though!

Now make it happen local! Also, mix it up with Anki, and you have yourself the best interactive study method to power through 300+ pages per day of learning and maintaining knowledge.

wow that's incredible! Did you fact check everything? I find when i try things like this there are a lot of factual errors that need to be checked and fixed

Dilum Sanjaya's profile picture
Dilum Sanjaya4 months ago

Thanks! The focus of this series is more to inspire people working in these fields to build cool interactive things, so I don't spend too much time fact-checking every detai 🙂

kvick's profile picture
kvick4 months ago

yeah I get you, I post stuff that has some slop errors in it too because its not always the point to be perfectly accurate but I do have concerns about spreading misinformation if anyone were to try and rely on the data

@DilumSanjaya 💪 I would love to learn on a model like this, but only if it is accurate data.

kvick's profile picture
kvick4 months ago

@DilumSanjaya they still have very high error rates, even for simple requests. I would fact check everything if you can

But I've been reliably informed here on X that nobody uses Gemini for coding 😂

Dilum Sanjaya's profile picture
Dilum Sanjaya4 months ago

haha, Claude and Codex are better, but you can make amazing apps with Gemini too. I'd like to encourage people in science and engineering fields to make things like this with my posts. For them, Gemini might have the most generous free tier. So I try to do my demos with Gemini.

Andrew Scofield's profile picture
Andrew Scofield4 months ago

Totally, I use them all for different things. Seems to me like they are all about on par in different ways but some excel at some things. I'm more noticing that the harness matters a lot too, not just the model. Gemini CLI is better at some things vs Gemini antigravity vs Gemini web. Same with Claude code, I like it best through Cursor, not the CLI. But I'm also not vibe coding very much.

واضيف لما ذكرت كل هذا واكثر موجود بمنصة عين الاثرائية مجانا وبدون تسجيل دخول. أبدعت فيه وزارة التعليم السعودية I add that all this and more are available on the Ain Enrichment Platform for free and without logging in. The Saudi Ministry of Education was creative in it

You giving gpt images references or design direction? Or just rawdogging it?

Dilum Sanjaya's profile picture
Dilum Sanjaya4 months ago

Sometimes I do use reference images, but for this one it was all text prompts. I usually give it a list of things I want in the UI, like - a 3D view of a cell - how it looks under a microscope - where it can be found in nature Then I ask it to generate different UI concepts. It usually takes quite a few generations before I get something I really like, and then I keep refining that direction.
