Same disclaimer as always with the biology apps. I don’t know much about this beyond what I researched about protein folding over the past couple of hours while building the app🙂 Here’s a link if you want to try it out

Got the idea while I was exploring the new Hugging Face Science site. Have a look if you're interested in using AI for science.

I don't know if you realize this, but it's 100% fantasy if not based on experimental observations. The difference between science and works of fiction is that science has to match the objective reality. Models have no value if they don't match that objective reality.

Very good looking AI slop protein folding. This has nothing to do with actual folding

I am very intereseted in knowing, what is your actual background, like tech, design, bilogy😮

most projects I’ve worked on have had me doing a bit of everything, regardless of what I was originally hired for. So I guess my background is a mix of all of the above 😅

Sanjaya, this is genuinely inspiring. Your creative posts are a great reminder to keep going. Could you share the prompt you used? I’d love to learn from your process and try creating something similar.

Wooow that's stunning 💥💥 But as someone just starting this academic path, it feels pretty discouraging. So what are we supposed to do?! What will our role be?!🤕

Thanks! I feel you, and I honestly don't know either. I hate the overhype around this stuff, and I try not to make my posts that way. But it really is getting to a point where you can code pretty much anything with little to no knowledge. On the other hand, I'd argue that someone with coding experience will always build better software than someone without it. But unfortunately, a lot of companies don't care that much about quality or their customers. They'd rather spend more money on marketing while shipping a lower-quality product. Anyway, don't listen to influencers who tell you that you don't need to learn anything. 😉

How are you representing alternative folding pathways—single trajectory or an ensemble? I’m curious how users can distinguish a plausible intermediate from a visually neat one. I’ve been using Sci-Quest for biomedical literature reviews:
