Fun interactive science app ideas | Part 10 Built an app for exploring different types of butterflies It's surprising how calm and peaceful the gentle wing movements feel Everything is generated with code. No 3D models Code Kimi K3

After spending some time with both, Kimi K3 feels noticeably better than Fable at both design and reasoning It's also really annoying that Fable keeps switching to Opus for most science and engineering related tasks Love seeing open weight models finally catching up to closed, restricted ones!

that's amazing, what tech did you use to build it

thanks, react + three.js

Hey can you share the prompt for any one of the many cool edtech app you develop.they are a piece of art , really want to learn from it

Thanks! Most of my demos aren't built from a single prompt. They're usually the result of a series of prompts, and what I ask next depends on the results I get. Even with the same model, you'll often get different outputs, so there isn't a single "magic prompt." I think the best way to learn is to try it yourself. If the whole app feels overwhelming, break it into smaller pieces and start with the most obvious part. For example, for this one I'd start with something like: "Build a Three.js app that creates an animated butterfly." Don't worry about the UI or all the extra features at first. Once that's working, keep adding features one by one and ask the model to fix any bugs or issues you run into.

might be wrong but the loop period usually gives it away around 8 seconds. pure sine on wing flaps without perlin noise or a small timing offset starts reading mechanical. did you layer in any variation or is it straight trig?

What? Kimi3 is that better? Or this is just ad?

Yeah, I ran a couple of other tests too, and K3 gave better results. I don't do sponsored posts, so everything I post here is based on my own experience

Damn! Great man . Lv your work

thanks

Too much text. Make all the text as expandable menu, for people to click through and explore. When you open it should be a clean visual.

this looks insanely good

thanks

The gentle wing motion is really soothing. And all from code, no models — that's the fun kind of hard. Nice work. 🦋

nice! I'm def gonna have to give Kimi a go.

Wow this is really really cool!!

thanks Maja!

so cool👍

thanks

U earned a follow my friend. Its beautiful! I wonder how long did it take you, but in human time and prompt iterations?

Thanks! I'd say I spent around 30 minutes thinking through improvements and writing prompts. It took about 5 or 6 prompts to get the overall direction right, then another 15 or so to polish the little details. Since I usually send a prompt and come back 20 to 30 minutes later, the whole thing ended up taking around 5 to 6 hours. If you worked through it continuously, it'd probably take about 2 hours

makes sense. Thanks for being honest! Maybe release an end to end video of the creation flow, I know a lot of ppl her on x would appreciate!

will do

Love it!!

thanks Shruti

I envy future children to have such an interesting interactive educational experience.

Wow that's impressive!

thanks Linas

期待开源

I think you can connect to government schools where they can show your projects to students if that specific topic requires this kind of interactive illustration which is easily understandable and I think students would also love these kind of projects.

Thanks! I started this series because I genuinely enjoy making this kind of stuff, but a few people have already reached out who are interested in building these kinds of apps for kids, so we'll see where it goes

Getting wing movement that calm with no 3D models, just code, is really impressive work.

thanks

Your apps are simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

thanks Martsys

Butterfly is probably the best candidate to render mathematically.

Is this just prompt or you built the system/architecture around creating these concepts?

three.js ?

Check this out:

Can you share code, pls, thanks

is it shared somewhere to interact with ?

@grok 这种是如何实现的?技术栈是什么

how do you make this much of a detailed butterfly with no 3d?

Lol. Animating wings is interactive 😂😂😂😆

good

Qual o prompt?

Could you please share how it was made? I'm very interested and it's truly amazing.

totally blown away by Google Gemini 3 + three.js.. just generated a 3D product interactive app with zero coding.. use hand gesture to rotate, scale, control xyz and lighting of 3D model AI is taking over.. accept or not tutorial with prompts & code below:
