Don't know enough about these to say how accurate the 3D models are, but from what I can tell, at least the main structures are there. Tried both Tripo and Hunyuan3D. Tripo seems to give better results overall.

I love it! I’m learning biology at night with a custom skills.md that uses AskUserQuestion to quizz me and it shows me ASCII which sucks compared to what you have. I prefer to see a white cell the way you present it

thanks!, I was trying to do something similar a couple of months ago, but I couldn't find a good data source. In the ones I did find, the height data seemed off or nonexistent in some areas, so it didn't look smooth. I'll probably give it another try

same here - tried using mapbox but wasn't able to get it working. would be sick if possible though!

Now make it happen local! Also, mix it up with Anki, and you have yourself the best interactive study method to power through 300+ pages per day of learning and maintaining knowledge.

yeah I get you, I post stuff that has some slop errors in it too because its not always the point to be perfectly accurate but I do have concerns about spreading misinformation if anyone were to try and rely on the data

haha, Claude and Codex are better, but you can make amazing apps with Gemini too. I'd like to encourage people in science and engineering fields to make things like this with my posts. For them, Gemini might have the most generous free tier. So I try to do my demos with Gemini.

Totally, I use them all for different things. Seems to me like they are all about on par in different ways but some excel at some things. I'm more noticing that the harness matters a lot too, not just the model. Gemini CLI is better at some things vs Gemini antigravity vs Gemini web. Same with Claude code, I like it best through Cursor, not the CLI. But I'm also not vibe coding very much.

For languages this might need a bit more of creativity on my part. That being said, once I nail the UI stuff, the possibilities are endless

what is the prompt you used to generate those? :)

Interactive 3D is what makes science apps click for me. Makes me want to poke around.

You giving gpt images references or design direction? Or just rawdogging it?

Sometimes I do use reference images, but for this one it was all text prompts. I usually give it a list of things I want in the UI, like - a 3D view of a cell - how it looks under a microscope - where it can be found in nature Then I ask it to generate different UI concepts. It usually takes quite a few generations before I get something I really like, and then I keep refining that direction.

I wish i had this when i was trying to study biology at school

@claudeai The tool doesn't really matter that much. As long as you have a cool idea, you can build a lot with most of the AI coding tools 😉
