The store clerk then packs it for the customer. This is a real deployment at a Guoda Pharmacy in Shanghai’s Pudong district. They’ve introduced Ant’s Robbyant wheeled humanoid robot R2, powered by the newly released LingBot VLA 2.0 + LingBot Depth, and integrated with online ordering platforms such as Meituan, Guoda APP(the brand)… Customers get their medicine faster, while pharmacists and staff have more time for professional medication consultations--especially valuable during night shifts when manpower is limited. The Zerith H1 can autonomously perform cleaning tasks such as cleaning toilets, mopping floors, and wiping sinks. From experimentation to trial use and real-world deployment, Zerith has built it into a commercial humanoid robot service solution, already used in over 20 landmark locations, and plans to expand to more cities like Hangzhou and Shanghai. At the GalBOT "Space Capsule," I bought a bottle of Coca-Cola from a convenience store operated by a humanoid robot. It was smoother than I expected: screen selection, QR code payment, and the humanoid robot G1 retrieving and delivering the goods – all in one seamless process. It's worth noting that a human worker was still present inside, handling emergency situations. However, it can't yet take orders through speech, but this will change soon. People will be able to shop by naturally conversing with G1, paying with palm or facial recognition (e.g., Alipay), and the humanoid robot will autonomously fulfill orders without ever getting tired, always full of enthusiasm and patience. It is expected that convenience stores operated by humanoid robots will soon appear in the core areas and tourist zones of many Chinese cities this year, with companies like GalBOT, Astribot, and AI² Robotics deploying them in large numbers. Its value goes beyond simply achieving intelligent automation in retail; it's becoming an integral part of people's future technological lives.

The productivity gains from humanoid robots are going to be enormous, and it reminds me of what Elon Musk said about humanoids and the global economy: “When you think what is an output of an economy, it is productivity per capita times population per capita. Once you have humanoid robots, the actual economic output potential is tremendous. It’s really unlimited. Potentially we can have an economy 10x the size of the current global economy.” We are watching the early stages of a robotics inflection point. A lot is about to change.

There are four stages of maturity, and each is gated by progress in the stage before it First, you have to build great humanoid hardware Second, that hardware needs to work with a whole-body, AI-first architecture These first two chapters can’t be brute-forced with capital. They require deep engineering across hardware, controls, AI, and systems integration The third chapter is scaling intelligence. The primary bottlenecks become data and compute. I believe humanoid robotics will ultimately require far more of both than LLMs The final chapter is scaling manufacturing and integrating humanoids into the economy at massive scale These last two chapters - intelligence and manufacturing - can be accelerated with capital. Doing them correctly will require tens, and eventually hundreds, of billions of dollars

The power of generative models — now embodied in humanoids. Announcing DreamControl –– After a year-long research effort at General Robotics — we present a scalable framework for whole-body humanoid control that fuses diffusion priors with reinforcement learning to unlock real-world scene interaction. Diffusion + RL → natural whole-body skills on real robots. DreamControl enables humanoids to move beyond locomotion demos → performing natural, human-like skills such as –– Picking & lifting objects, Opening drawers & doors, Precise punching, kicking, and jumping, Bimanual manipulation tasks Our key innovation: a diffusion prior over human motion that guides RL, eliminating the need for massive teleoperation datasets, and producing motions that look human while transferring to real hardware.
