Grok 4.6 is looking really good for making 3D games! Here's a quick demo of a little cosy 3d game working right within Unity. Used Meshy for the character from a Grok Imagine 2.0 image. Just prompts. I didn't touch anything in Unity or Blender. Grok 4.6 just did everything via the Unity CLI. SFX and BGM with ElevenLabs.

Got introduced to , an AI code assistant specialised for Unity by Julian Park and after dabbling with it for a day, I am really impressed with how good it is for vibe coding on the Unity Game Engine. Bezi early impressions: - Bezi works direcly on Unity with a Plugin, this means that I don't need a Unity MCP - Because Bezi is built for Unity, the success rate of feature implementations is visibly higher than general coding models - It was able to integrate Unity store assets like a Weather system to this game pretty seamlessly - I was able to add a fishing database, lighting and weather systems into this game fairly quickly I'm very impressed with the results with Bezi so far. I feel that vibe coding a full indie game on Unity and releasing it on Steam, Mobile and Web is within reach. This also validates one thing that I have been suspecting: A specialised model designed for a specific use case can perform better than a general model at the particular domain. Very exciting!

I used Cursor to vibe code a simple fishing game prototype on the Unity Engine. Here's my learnings: - I did not use any Unity MCP for this. The game was built entirely by Cursor models (Sonnet 4.6 for execution and Opus 4.6 for planning) - The model was able to set up the game, getting the basic game mechanics working fairly quickly - I had to use the Unity Game Editor UI to attach components to the in-game objects manually, but it was quite easy to follow the instructions given by the Cursor model - Unity Editor is huge and slow! Compared to Godot, I find the UI really clunky I feel tired looking at it - Unity Assets Marketplace is amazing, there are so many amazing art assets there (like the ones I am using for this game). This is probably the biggest strength of Unity. - I had some issues with restoring checkpoints, probably because of how Unity Game Editor UI being really clunky and I had to manually adjust things in the Editor, which the model doesnt have knowledge of Overall, the results turn out pretty decent, but it was a rather frustrating experience, especially when I had to debug issues or rollback changes. Unity 6 + Opus 4.8 built a Minecraft-style game with just 2 prompts 😱 The first prompt took around 15 minutes. The second prompt took around 40 minutes. I wrote down everything I wanted for the first version, GPT expanded it with more details, and I sent it to Opus. Less than an hour later, I had a playable game. I actually spent more time setting up Unity 6 than building the game itself. It's wild to think about where this is heading. If 2 prompts can do this, imagine what an entire project looks like when every feature is built this way. Congrats to Anthropic. What they're building is incredible.

$I just compared Claude Code vs Codex vs Cursor CLI The task was to build a Next.js app with Tailwind 4 and shadcn components to collect customer feedback and showcase it with a widget. I gave all three the same prompt and let them go for 30 minutes to see what they came up with. Claude Code with Opus 4.1 Even though I told it to set up the app in the existing project folder, it tried to create a directory for it. After I interrupted and told it not to do that, it built a demo form and landing page with no errors. I had to ask it to make the demo interactive so users could submit a testimonial and preview it. The landing page looked like AI and was pretty basic, but it worked and it was done in a fraction of the time of the others. Total tokens used: 33k Codex with GPT-5 At the end of the 30 minutes I just could not get Codex to produce a working app. It got stuck in a loop of not being able to set up Tailwind 4 and despite many, MANY, attempts, I ended up with a "failed to compile" error. Total tokens used: 102k Cursor Agent with GPT-5 This was the slowest agent by far and a couple of times I actually thought it got stuck in a loop and was close to Ctrl+C'ing to cancel it. The TUI is really nice though, especially how it shows diffs and it did eventually build a working app (after one or two slight errors that needed fixing) The demo was interactive and it had a very minimal design that looked bare but also a lot less like an "AI generated" app than the Opus 4.1 design. It also wasn't too chatty and just did what it needed to do! Code quality was on a par with Opus 4.1, but it did use 5.5x as many tokens to get there. Still cheaper than Opus on a direct comparison but not when you factor in a Claude Code Max subscription. Total tokens: 188k I'll be able to do a proper comparison and record some videos when I'm back from holiday but for now, Opus is still the more capable model out of the box and Claude Code is the more complete CLI product. It will be interesting to see how Cursor evolve their CLI though with commands and subagents because I think with GPT-5 they have a real shot at providing competition for Claude Code if they can optimise output to get similar quality with less tokens. paired Matt Shumer's gauntlet loop with my Three.js agent skills to build a Quake inspired CTF game in an underwater base Opus 5 handled the initial build with ultracode and generated assets with Tripo ElevenLabs Nano Banana 2 Lite - my honest take 👇 the game was about 75% functional after the initial run, but required additional loops and refinement to iron out bugs.. it's interesting way of building games, but I prefer building them out slowly piece by piece where you have more design control.. either way a fun experiment to showcase model capabilities!

After a couple more days with Composer 2.5, I've got a pretty good sense of what it can do for game dev, specifically this mouse cursor racing game I'm building. It nailed ~80% of the features I threw at it, from planning to execution. Pretty amazing. I did have to switch to Opus 4.7 MAX a few times for features that need stronger visual understanding, like adding a 360 loop to the track or nailing a specific visual effect I had in mind. But man, Opus 4.7 MAX is expensive. Composer 2.5's visual understanding is weaker than Opus 4.7, but for most other things it's pretty damn close, and 10x cheaper. So it's now my default. The beauty of Cursor is I can switch models whenever I want, so I'm never stuck on one. Really excited for the larger incoming model. I have a feeling it's going to shine at planning. Can't wait!
