The E20 rollout has followed a clearly communicated policy roadmap. Parliament replies, technical notifications, press conferences and public interviews have consistently explained the rationale and implementation framework. From April 1, RON 95 has been mandated as the minimum octane rating for E20 petrol. Since ethanol has an octane rating of around 108 RON, blending improves knock resistance and supports the requirements of modern engines. Concerns around mileage deserve informed discussion, but the policy direction, technical basis and rollout framework have remained transparent and publicly available.
