Interesting tidbit from this Shane van Gisbergen interview with Speedcafe: SVG says his team started trying different setups after being eliminated from the playoffs, "and we really found something that we liked" "I wish we had tried it a bit earlier, but it's part of learning."

Saliba on the moment he new Arsenal would be Champions: “The first part of the season, even when you start, you know that the Premier League is long. But I think I started to feel that we can do it in March after the game against Everton. For me, it was clear that we were going to win that league. “But after when we came back from national team, I think it was a bit hard. But we kept going and believe in ourselves. Even after the loss against City, we are the champions.”

McAvoy on the feeling when Buffalo started to come back: "I thought we were in a good spot. We still had the lead, a little bit of a snowball, but on the bench I think it was positive. We were still in a good spot... "It's unfortunate how it happened but we have to learn from it."

"It's hard for me because the reason I'm in this series is because of win and you're in." But Shane van Gisbergen went on to say The Chase is more of a "pure form of racing championship" adding that the format needed a change. 🏆 Big words from SVG 👀

"He really cares for the sport, and all the different parts of it." Brad Gushue's retirement from playing might be just around the corner, but it's far from the last we'll see of him around the game. We caught up with Brad and his daughter Marissa earlier this season.

We did something like bts today and posted group shots after work. Shane van Gisbergen did more than just earn his best oval finish (sixth) at Atlanta. He also did it after being competitive all day and after two different trips through the infield grass. "I thought I was a Kubota for a second." SVG has been strong on speedways to start the year and says he's "leaps and bounds" ahead of where he's been on ovals, "but I still make dumb mistakes" when it comes to speedway racing and either not being patient enough or not timing things well enough. Now it's off to COTA where SVG will be a threat to win - with some points already accumulated, as is the goal for the 97 team.

Arteta on making so many changes: “There are two actions defensively that we suffered a little bit. I don't think it's because of his position, but we altered things. We had to. But as well with the game that I expected, bringing Mosquera was going to lock something that we really believed that it can give us the fluidity and the chance to hurt them. “But sometimes you have to make another change and the one on Zubimendi was tough, but I really felt it that we had to put two attacking midfielders in that moment to generate all the kind of issues and threats, and thank God it worked out.”

Jeff McNeil was asked about the Mets breaking up their core after missing the playoffs in 2025: "That's not a decision I'm able to make. I felt like we had a pretty good team. We were one game away from being in the postseason last year. That was tough, but it's a business and David's over there trying to put the best team on the field as possible and that's what he seemed fit."

There was almost a 19th caution that TV didn't really pick up on. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun coming to the white flag after contact from Shane van Gisbergen, but Stenhouse was able to keep rolling and NASCAR held the yellow. Nothing else really to note but Stenhouse did drive up alongside and in front of SVG on the cooldown lap, likely to express his displeasure.

I really wanted the first record to be different from what I’d done with Genesis so we were trying to do things in different styles. A bit of barbershop, which Tony Levin helped with, there were more bluesy things, a variety of songs and arrangements that were consciously trying to provide something different than what I’d done before. -pg

Shane van Gisbergen keeping it light talking about his matchup with Ryan Preece in the first round of the In-Season Challenge "I see he's been getting pretty lippy online, so that's a bit of fun. We were giving each other shit the other day from Pocono when he was throwing signs at me and stuff. But he's a good dude. "We had a little tussle last week, he kind of pulled a shitty move on me and half-spun me so I got him back. But yeah, I look forward to it. It's cool that there's something else to focus on, and he's been going really well on his road courses this year. "I'm sure I'll see him on Sunday, and it'll be a tough but fair battle and we'll see who gets to the next round. I look forward to it."
