Despite incessant rain, KMC roads are clear and traffic is moving. Would urge people not to move unnecessarily especially request bike users to be extremely careful. People going towards Malir & Airport should preferably use Shahrah e Bhutto. Even the side of Shah Faisal Colony is clear and open for traffic

Visited the area of Nagan Chowrangi where the water is being drained out at a fast pace. Our biggest challenge is that all Naalaas drain into Lyari & Malir Naddi which are both also under pressure because of the spill over of Thado Dam as well as hill torrents coming from the side of Baluchistan. Rescue teams have been activated around Sohrab Goth & DC East present on ground

Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan is at risk of flooding tonight as water levels have risen. PDMA, Rescue 1122, and the entire district administration are on-site, actively managing the situation. Nearly 2,000 people have been safely evacuated so far, and rescue operations will continue through the night. The situation and ongoing operations are being minutely monitored through thermal imaging drones to ensure rapid response and prevent any loss of precious life.

There has been a mega traffic jam on Lake Baikal for the third day, nearly 100 kilometers long, with about 10,000 cars stuck, reports Baza. Some drivers have run out of food and water supplies and are asking others for help. Rescuers are delivering gasoline to those freezing and have also set up a temporary shelter for 549 people in a local school. The jam is not clearing due to irresponsible drivers driving into oncoming traffic. In some sections, drivers have been stationary for 7–8 hours. To avoid worsening the situation, truck traffic has been restricted on the highway.

The drain of Rashid Minhas Road is working well but some water has now piled up on the side lane going towards Rashid Minhas Road as well as towards Natha Khan. Visited the place & have directed for additional pumping to be placed on site. Our team is present on ground and so is traffic police. All of the Karachi team has worked tremendously hard & I am proud of their efforts for the last 3 days ❤️

Today the Hyderabad Traffic Police organised the Meeting on Safety of School going children at Ravindra Bharathi as the academic year has started . The Collector and heads of the RTA, RTC , Education, also attended and all gave useful instructions and suggestions to the 750 school managements present and also some school children. I highlighted the need to employ two or more private security guards as Traffic Marshals by the schools to manage traffic outside and inside the school for a length of 200 metres on the left and right . They will be trained by the Traffic police and work under their supervision. I encouraged parents to use car pooling apps to send their children safely rather than stuffing them into autos , CCTV s need to be installed all over the school and outside also , pan shops and other small shops near schools need to be removed as they are peddling narcotics in some places . It was told very clearly that anything happening to any student will be the responsibility of the school management and they will have to face criminal action if they don’t invest in student safety . Requested the traffic police to see if they can revive the school traffic commandos programme which I had organised as traffic Addl-CP 15 years ago.
