Using clustered lighting, similar to Unreal, the screen is split into tiles of 32x32 pixels and then further split along the Z axis. Lights are culled and binned. Most of the time engines implement clustered lighting with a fixed number of partitions in XY, something like 40x20, let's say, this is generally fine, but it doesn't adapt to different aspect ratios and tends not to scale as well into higher screen resolutions. Finally, by splitting the XY in 32 pixel increments (or anything that's 2^N really) - you get better wave coherence, that is - pixel shader runs more efficiently. The engine supports up to 10,000 so-called "local lights" in the frame, which can be either be sphere lights (point lights with volume) or spot lights. When I say "in the frame" - I mean on-screen at the same time. There can be a million lights in the scene for example, but only 10,000 can be visible at a time. Can increase the limit, but I reckon 10,000 is already a pretty (un)reasonable limit.

A serious multi-vehicle crash in Inwood, Manhattan, left three people injured early Thursday after a speeding Corvette collided with a Mercedes-Benz SUV. Police said a Corvette was traveling eastbound on Sherman Avenue at a high rate of speed around 6:30 a.m. when it slammed into the Mercedes near West 204th Street. The Corvette then struck a 34-year-old pedestrian on the sidewalk before crashing into a building. The Mercedes continued into a parked, unoccupied moped and damaged other parked vehicles. The Mercedes driver fled the scene and remains wanted. The Corvette’s 27-year-old driver identified as Eric Torres, a passenger, and the pedestrian were all taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. Torres was later arrested and charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Authorities are investigating whether the vehicles were involved in street racing or drag racing; witnesses reported the Corvette had been driving recklessly including doughnuts earlier that morning.

When the injured youth demanded compensation, the driver didn’t stop instead, he dragged the victim for several kilometers. The most shocking part? The young man was clinging to the car’s bonnet the entire time, fighting for his life, while the vehicle kept speeding. Even more disturbing is the fact that the car was being driven by an advocate someone who is supposed to uphold the law, not trample over it. Driving through the pure darkness of Yellowstone in my Cybertruck really makes me appreciate how incredible Tesla’s engineering is. Tonight I tested every mode of the Tesla Off-Road Light Bar driving through the pure darkness of Yellowstone late at night in my Cybertruck. It really makes me appreciate how incredible Tesla engineering is. • Ditch Lights - The outer LEDs light up both sides of the road, making it much easier to spot wildlife, rocks, drop-offs, and the edges of the trail. • Flood Lights - The center LEDs shoot out an incredibly wide, powerful beam straight ahead, lighting up the road hundreds of yards into the distance. • Both - This is maximum visibility. The entire light bar comes alive, illuminating everything in front of you and on both sides with almost no dark spots. You can switch between each mode right from the touchscreen and even adjust the brightness to match the conditions. It’s one of those features you don’t fully appreciate until you’re driving through complete darkness. Just an FYI, these lights are designed for off-road use only. They’re incredibly bright and can blind other drivers, so they should never be used on public roads when other traffic is present.

Sean Goode’s dashcam gives us another little gift from the “nothing to see here” department. Look at the driveway that morning. The two vehicles on the left clearly haven’t been moved in a while; they're covered in snow. Then, just to the right, you can see Matt McCabe’s vehicle pulled in. Now remember Jen McCabe’s testimony: she looked out the door and texted John to “pull behind me.” Behind where exactly? If Matt and Jen were parked on the left side, the remaining driveway space would’ve been gone. If they were parked where Matt’s vehicle is seen in the morning, same problem. Karen’s Lexus is roughly 16 feet 8 inches long. That SUV was not casually squeezing into that driveway behind anyone like a Matchbox car. So either this was the most optimistic parking suggestion in Canton history… or that text makes absolutely no sense when compared to the actual layout seen on the dash cam footage Jen says when she pulled into the driveway, there was already a car in front of her Okay let’s walk through that like normal human beings with eyes. Option 1 She parks on the LEFT side. If there was a car in front of her, and she pulled in behind it on that left side, then her rear end is basically at the mailbox or close to the street. That driveway space is now fully accounted for. There’s no magical extra 17 feet for Karen’s Lexus to just slide in behind everyone. Option 2: She parks on the RIGHT side. Same claim there’s a car in front of her. But here’s the problem… In the dashcam the next morning we see Matt and Jens vehicle sitting there on the right side and there is no car in front of it. None. Zero. Not “it left early.” Not “it melted with the snow.” Just… gone. So now we’ve got two possibilities: The car Jen says was in front of her never existed in that position, or It existed and somehow disappeared without leaving any trace, while every other vehicle stayed put long enough to collect snow And remember Matt’s vehicle is shown as freshly pulled in in the morning footage. Clean positioning, no evidence of another vehicle having been there ahead of it. At some point this stops being confusion… and starts looking like a story that doesn’t match the environment it supposedly happened in.

Drivers, we must dim our lights when there is an oncoming vehicle. Always. No matter if the other driver didn’t dim his lights. Don’t flash him back as punishment. His vehicle might have a fault with the switch or wiring. If you start fighting with lights, he can swerve into your lane or go off the road. Innocent people will lose their lives. Some will end up with broken bodies... all because we didn’t forgive. Not everyone drives with bright lights on purpose. Sometimes it’s a mechanical fault. If someone flashes you once or twice as a signal and doesn’t dim, just look to the left of the road and pass carefully. Don’t make the situation worse by flashing back. Drive safe 🙏
