TRANSITION FLIGHT | Midnight has completed transition flight at a speed of 100+ MPH – taking off vertically, accelerating until it transitions from thrust-borne to wing-borne flight, cruising on the wing and then landing again vertically. Footage of Early flight trials of Fly-by-wire on the Avro 707C. The 707 was introduced as a test bed aircraft in 1949. It was 1/3 scale of the Vulcan and used to test flight characteristics of tailless aircraft. The C version had side by side seating, for this trial the left stick was direct link to control surfaces and right stick was fly by wire.😎

Its function is to correctly convert the pilot's inputs, control the movement of the surfaces, and monitor faults in the flight control system. If any fault is found, it alerts the pilot so they can fly the plane in accordance with ELAC 1... Topic of the day: Aircraft pressurization, Boeing 737NG. Most airplanes are using outflow valves to pressurize. Pressurization system uses bleed air routed through the Air Conditioning system to pressurize and condition the aircraft’s cabin. Outflow valves are used to regulate the pressurisation of the airplane. By setting the intended Flight Level and Landing Altitude, in AUTO mode, the pressurization controller strives to maintain the cabin altitude slightly below the selected landing altitude. In case of a failure, it is possible to switch to MANUAL ops if the AUTO & ALTN modes failed. In MANUAL, it allows full control of the cabin altitude and pilots refer to a placard to set the cabin altitude accordingly to the flight level by opening/closing manually the outflow valve. New milestone achieved! The #Airbus U850 #SIRTAP has successfully completed its first taxi at the Ejército del Aire y del Espacio Getafe Air Base runway, right next to our facilities. During this taxi test, the aircraft is fully controlled from the ground control station. The test verifies the correct integration and performance of the braking system, steering function, navigation sensors, and commands from the control station itself. Why is this key? It confirms the seamless interaction between hardware, software, and vehicle dynamics. It also validates the aircraft's ability to maneuver safely on the ground before progressing to high-speed taxi trials and the subsequent flight test campaign. We are one step closer to the first flight! Stay tuned.

The piloted flight featured a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) demonstrating the robustness of Midnight’s landing gear which is capable of performing both vertical and conventional take-off and landing operations. Through our design and certification process, our team, government regulators and our customers, both civil and defense, have identified the importance of being able to conduct both vertical and conventional take-off and landing as part of normal operation of the aircraft as having CTOL capabilities in addition to VTOL provides operational flexibility and enhanced safety. Watch the full flight as Midnight cruises at speeds of up to 125 mph and reaches a maximum altitude of over 1,500 feet above ground level with Archer Chief Test Pilot, Jeff Greenwood, at the controls.
