I spent a week ignoring everyone who said to switch engines. Day 7, I pivot. You were right. Building GTA 6 with a loop of AI agents. I spent the entire day on one thing: Swapping the project out of Godot and onto Unreal. Yesterday I said I'd test Unity and probably skip Unreal. You guys pushed back hard: if you're serious about AAA, get on a real engine. so here we are. What a full day of "just setup" actually looks like: - Installed and configured Unreal - Fought it onto a Mac build (the metal toolchain nearly ended me) - Migrated the project over - Got into a real Map and building assets - Got a scene rendering with real lighting First time this actually looks like GTA instead of a prototype of it. I'm still wiring the agents into the editor and point the loop at a real engine. Feedback is appreciated!

Someone ran Claude Code on an e-ink notebook and the slowest screen in the world suddenly turned out to be the best home for an AI that already thinks one word at a time. This is the reMarkable Paper Pro, a paper tablet for notes with no browser and no social media and not a single app. He went into it over SSH and brought up Claude Code on Opus 4.8 on Claude Max and typed right into the terminal on the paper screen: "hello reddit, this is ssh terminal on rmpp". For years this screen got slammed for one thing. E-ink is too slow and it draws with a delay and it ghosts and it is no good for real work. But Claude itself puts out a thought one word at a time. And here is what came out of it: the very thing that killed the paper screen for normal software lined up perfectly with the pace of the AI. There is no more lag because there is nothing left to lag. And then come the things no monitor can give you. Your eyes do not get tired. You can watch Opus think on max effort for an hour and it feels like reading a book and not staring into a backlight. Nothing distracts you. Not a single notification and not a single tab and just a cursor and an agent that writes code while you simply watch the page. The charge lasts for days. E-ink barely touches the battery so Claude can grind on a task all night long and the tablet is still alive by morning. And it weighs as much as a notebook. The whole work setup now fits into a bag like a notepad with a stylus on top. Everything on the screen is for real: Claude Code v2.1.162 and bypass permissions on and Opus going off to think on max effort right on the e-ink. In my opinion this is the most unexpected home for an AI this year. This guy replaced an $8,000 survey crew with one drone and a pipeline on Claude Code that digitizes a whole site in a single trip. Inside it is not one drone but a whole pipeline of 5 modules on Claude Code each with its own job all answering to a single orchestrator. And he built them himself with no team. He draws one line on the map from the controller and the whole site starts turning into data at once. Pilot flies the DJI Matrice 350 RTK along the route and reaches where a crew drags tripods: the parking lot and the roofs and the grading. Scanner on the Zenmuse L2 records the geometry with a laser down to the centimeter. Builder in DJI Terra stitches the point cloud into a digital twin. Analyst on Claude builds what the client needs out of the finished model: a volume report and a progress diff and a tour behind a link. Mobile lives in his iPhone and hands the developer a link to the model while he drives to the next site. The site is ready as a file in about an hour and the developer rotates it in the browser himself and measures distances. No crew. No tripods. No week on site. Just him and a pickup and a drone and one API key. The whole processing pipeline lives in a folder at /Users/dev/site-capture. But he did not stop at a one time scan. The pipeline raises him by voice only when a flight misses a patch or when a sag on site goes past tolerance. And this is not made up: the DJI Matrice 350 RTK and the Zenmuse L2 are off the shelf enterprise hardware. The specs are one search away and the L2 really does write around 240,000 points per second. A crew for the same job charges $8,000 and three trips plus a week of desk work. His cost is tokens and subscriptions: one battery charge per flight and around $300 a month to host the finished models. In the end he draws one line on the map and an operator that does not exist scans the site and calculates the volumes and builds the report while he never leaves his truck. There is a huge market of everyone who needs to measure construction sites and warehouses and roofs and parking lots over and over while they still send out a photographer with a camera and wait a week. Fable 5 and Karpathy's knowledge base trick are basically a cheat code. Someone just dropped a full walkthrough on building the most powerful second brain ever Andrej Karpathy shared a simple idea: use an LLM to build personal knowledge bases. Index your sources, let the model organize them, and use Obsidian as the front end. Someone just built the full thing with Claude Code and Fable 5, and walked through every step You drop your sources into a folder (YouTube transcripts, PDFs, articles, meeting notes) and Claude Code reads them, splits them into linked wiki pages, and builds a living second brain that connects everything. It grows on its own as you add more. Where Fable 5 pulls ahead: it found a connection buried across two sources you'd miss reading them separately. And asked to turn the messy web of links into something a beginner could understand, it produced clean, simple HTML in one shot. The same task took a full day on Opus 4.8 and came out worse. The CEO of Take-Two, the company behind GTA, just said something the entire AI industry doesn't want to hear. And he said it without being anti-AI. Strauss Zelnick's argument is precise. AI is built on datasets. Datasets are backward-looking. Creativity is forward-looking. A model trained on everything that already exists cannot, by definition, produce something genuinely unexpected. And all hits, by their very nature, are unexpected. Asset creation and hit creation are not the same thing. AI is getting very good at the first one. The second one is what actually makes money, builds franchises, and changes culture. Nobody has shown AI can do that yet. The derivative property problem is real. You can clone GTA with existing technology. You could do it before AI. It would take 3 years and look identical. It still wouldn't sell. Because it isn't GTA. It's a clone of GTA. And consumers, despite what the industry occasionally pretends, can feel the difference between something genuinely new and something assembled from the residue of things that already worked. Thousands of mobile games ship every year. 0 to 5 hits get made. The same studios make them every time. The technology to make more games has been commoditized for years. It didn't democratize hit creation. It just flooded the market with more forgettable product. The Silicon Valley thesis that AI unlocks game creation for everyone is true in the same way that cheap cameras unlocked filmmaking for everyone. They did. And the same 5 studios still make the movies everyone watches. What Zelnick is saying, without quite saying it, is that the thing AI cannot replicate is taste. The instinct for what hasn't been done yet. The cultural antenna that detects the gap in the market before the data can see it. Data tells you what people wanted. Hits tell people what they want next. Those are different jobs.

Hot take, but I’ve always felt Vice City is easily the worst GTA. I’ve never fully understood the hype around it. Don’t get me wrong the atmosphere is amazing, the 80s vibe is iconic, and the soundtrack is one of the best in the series. Tommy and Ken are great characters too. But once past that, the game itself doesn’t hold up as well for me. The map feels small and empty, especially compared to San Andreas, and even GTA 3 felt bigger in some ways. Driving around and exploring isn’t that fun, which is a huge part of what makes GTA games enjoyable. The missions are where it really loses me. Many feel repetitive or straight-up frustrating, especially early on. The RC helicopter mission inside the building is a perfect example more annoying than fun. It often feels like the game is just throwing obstacles at you instead of offering natural progression. To me, it’s always felt more like a quick follow-up to GTA 3 than a fully evolved entry, leaning heavily on style over substance. It has its moments, but compared to the other GTA games, it just doesn’t hit the same.

This looks like a toy. It's actually the meanest little vision eval I've built. The task: look at an emoji image, then repaint it on a 16×16 grid, one pixel at a time. Just the model, a tiny canvas, and up to 2000 brushstrokes. What I didn't expect was the personalities. > some models REGRET a stroke and go back to repaint it > some get stuck looping the same little patch over and over, like they're trying to animate it > some are calm little surgeons and just nail it first try And the task is genuinely mean: it has to see the image, crush it down to 256 cells, then decide what's actually load-bearing: > the tears on 😂 but still keep the smile > the horn on 🦄 > the antenna on 🤖 and keep the soul of it with almost no resolution to spare. 5 models. 7 emojis. Best of 5 runs each. Side by side. Who's your winner?

This man on an electric bike is riding down the sidewalk in a park. As he comes upon a family he yells “on your left.” The father with his wife and kid tells him to just go on the grass. The man on the hike stops and they have words almost leading to a fight. As the family continues the man in the bike comes up behind them again and this time the father gives him a gentle push onto the grass. The man on the hike is going to call the cops. So, who is the real Karen here? Is it the man in the bike or the dad? Is the sidewalk big enough for all of them or should the guy on the bike veered off a little on the grass to get around them?
