Multi-robot learning is getting a serious boost! 📚 Researchers have extended Isaac Lab to train heterogeneous multi-agent robotic policies at scale. The new framework supports high-resolution physics, GPU-accelerated simulation, and both homogeneous and heterogeneous agents working together on coordination tasks. They benchmarked different approaches (MAPPO: Multi-Agent Proximal Policy Optimization and HAPPO: Heterogeneous Agent PPO) across six challenging scenarios and showed that large-scale multi-robot training is not only feasible, but efficient. Robots that act like slime! 🫟 Cornell University engineers developed a robotic collective that behaves less like a machine and more like a material that flows, reshapes, and adapts without centralized control. It consists of dozens of small robots with limited individual mobility that exhibit coordinated motion when entangled. The system resembles soft matter, continuously deforming and reorganizing as it moves, driven by mechanical intelligence. Digital twins make deployments! 🔄 Digital twins are more than just simulation, they let you test and fix everything before touching real hardware. The biggest win is catching problems early. You can test the complete system virtually, including all the control logic and data flows. Finding a bug in simulation takes hours. Finding it on-site during installation takes days and costs serious money. The second benefit is predictable deployment. Instead of discovering surprises when the robots arrive, you've already worked through the issues in the virtual model. The third advantage is automation. The operator interface gets generated automatically from the digital model. The old way was: build the system, write all the code, install the hardware, then spend weeks debugging on-site. Here is the guy and the two ladies stopping traffic in the middle of the street. You can hear him yelling at the person in the white SUV. You can see the border patrol agents parked across the street in front of the place where they were going to arrest the criminal illegal alien and coming out of their cars. You can then see the two women go right towards the agent who was by his car and stand in front of him obstructing an active operation. It can't be seen in this video but we know from other videos that the guy went across the street to the area where the agents were. The two women and the guy all inserted themselves in an active operation. This is dangerous for officers and for the public. These officers have only a few minutes to get in there, execute the warrant, arrest the illegal alien (who may be armed since he is a criminal) and pull him out into their car. These people are going after these officers with loud whistles, blocking traffic, confronting them. The people out there applauding this behavior, saying that it is citizens' right to do that, or instigating it are putting civilians in danger.

Standard computer vision would struggle here. It's about occlusion. A worker's hands constantly cover the bolts during assembly. Hand moves in, bolt disappears. Hand moves away, bolt reappears. Without smart tracking, the model forgets which bolt is which every time it's hidden. They solved it with BoT-SORT, a tracking algorithm that keeps object identity through occlusions. When a hand covers a bolt and moves away, the tracker knows it's still the same bolt, same state, same position. Finally visited Babylon, Financial District, on my third attempt. It was full the first two times. The place is huge and designed really well. Kudos to the owners for building such a landmark place. I hope they start the brewery soon once they get the license. Coming back to the food, I tried the Tandoori Platter and the Telangana Mutton Curry with Bagara Rice. Both were very decent. That said, the traffic and valet management are really bad. This place has blocked the entire road, and I had to wait 25 minutes for the valet. This wasn't a one-time issue. My wife had a similar experience earlier and had to wait more than 30 minutes. The biggest problem is that there doesn't seem to be a proper parking or traffic plan to begin with. It feels like everything was arranged after opening instead of being planned from the beginning for such a large restaurant.

This appears to be the ice-version testing of the XEV and BE 6! Every time you visit Ladakh, you’ll see Mahindra vehicles being tested there, yet they still struggle to start or perform properly in extreme temperatures. Let me tell you why: the people driving these test vehicles are often influencers or YouTubers who are more focused on making reels and videos than providing genuine feedback. They hardly care about how the vehicle responds, what needs improvement, or what issues need to be rectified. The day Mahindra starts taking real-world testing feedback seriously, it could shake up the automobile market and produce some of the best products in the segment. Until then, customers will continue to be the guinea pigs for their testing. I hope Mahindra learns from this and focuses more on refining its products before launch!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Today marks General Availability of AgentCore, a set of infrastructure building blocks for developers and companies to build secure, scalable agents. When we first started AWS, the vast majority of developers were spending most of their time on the undifferentiated heavy lifting of infrastructure instead of what differentiated their feature. So, we solved that problem by building primitive building blocks like compute and storage and database that would allow teammates and customers to quickly build and deploy new experiences without having to reinvent the wheel each time. We realized the same thing was happening with AI agents. It's too difficult and it's slowing customers down. That's why we created AgentCore, a set of services to build, deploy, and operate highly capable agents using any framework or model, with enterprise-grade security and scalability. These building blocks (like serverless secure runtime, memory, observability, a gateway that does MCP translation, etc) help customers tackle some of the biggest challenges of going from prototype to production, much more quickly, securely, and scalably. AgentCore has been in preview for several weeks, and customers have been quite excited about it.
