The Women's Reservation Bill is actually a Purush Bachao Yojna through which Parliament will be converted into a Family Club! If the government is serious about Women Reservation, give the Women 33% Reservation from the exsisting 543 MPs, why Delimitation! Even the 50% increase in seats for all states is a serious disadvantage to Southern States. Let me explain : Parliament runs on absolute numbers not percentage, so a 50% increase in seats for UP is 80+40 = 120 A 50% increase for Tamil Nadu is 39+20= 59! Today the difference in MPs between UP & TN is 80-39= 41, after Delimitation it will become 120-59= 61!

By opposing this bill, what has Congress actually achieved? * They have delayed the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill, betraying women. * By opposing the 50% proportional seat increase, they have enabled the next delimitation to be done on the 2027 Census, which will redistribute the existing 543 seats and will gravely compromise the less populous southern states. Congress and DMK will have a lot to pay for. Shame on them!

Kudos to KTR for strongly opposing population-based delimitation. Why should states that worked hard on population control,education and development be punished with reduced representation? Delimitation based purely on population growth risks shifting political power unfairly, rewarding regions that failed to control population while sidelining those that governed responsibly. Southern states have consistently contributed more in terms of economic growth,governance and human development. their voice in Parliament cannot be diluted in the name of arithmetic. delimitation must go beyond population. it should reflect performance,progress and equity.

#WATCH | Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu: Congress MP Karti Chidambaram says, "I am personally in favour of having a reservation for women in Parliament and so is my party, the Congress party. But that reservation has to happen immediately within the 543-member House. Any attempt to increase the strength of the house and redistribute the seats will be strongly resisted. As it is with 543 members, we hardly get any time to speak. If we increase the strength of the house to 816 or 850, it will become a very ineffective house. Further, if there is going to be delimitation and redrawing of constituencies among states based on the 2011 census, it will be grossly unfair to the southern states and to a few other states which have implemented family planning effectively...All the MPs from Tamil Nadu will not support this initiative of the government, and we will vote against this."
