The Chaos Engine Commodore Amiga OCS/ECS vs AGA version. The AGA version of "The Chaos Engine" benefited from the Amiga's third-generation chipset, allowing for up to 256 colors on screen simultaneously in indexed modes, and even more in HAM-8 mode. This upgrade significantly enhanced the visual detail, depth, and... show more

The OCS/ECS palette is a better fit. ... of course, let's not forget the awesome soundtrack, too! 😎

original, I hate over-saturation Also prevalent in modern games, e.g. Skyrim Special Edition had a cartoony blue Mario Sky over its winter tundra's, absolutely destroying the original gritty art design Modern devs : colors 'pop', 4k60, done ! They have no clue

The OCS version looks normal to me, the AGA kinda looks like how a remastered edition would nowadays.

I'm not sure what the AGA version is trying to improve over the original. More of something isn't automatically better. In this case the extra colors feel disjointed and lacking cohesion.

#TheWitcher3Remastered Vs Original. I think the biggest and most obvious visual upgrade is the lighting quality, which has improved significantly. The addition of GTAO and better shading also helps elevate the overall presentation. On the flip side, Global Illumination is currently broken in some areas (Beauclair is a clear example). additionally the gamma is completely off, making some areas look extremely washed out. Disabling Bloom and lowering the gamma helps a bit, but it still doesn't make the image look accurate or consistent with the original version. Overall, just like STALKER 2’s Update 2.0, I expect the visual changes here to be divisive. The original still has its strengths, but the improvements particularly in lighting and shading are substantial.

When you look at games on the PC Engine and Neo Geo—arguably the most powerful 8-bit and 16-bit consoles—it can honestly feel overwhelming. Fatal Fury Special was ported to the PC Engine CD, and at that level, it’s fair to call it an almost perfect conversion. The Super Famicom version suffered from hardware limitations and was handled by Takara, a different company, so the results weren’t particularly impressive. In contrast, the PC Engine CD version of Fatal Fury Special was developed directly by SNK as a test case for CD-based game production before the release of the Neo Geo CD, which explains its exceptionally high level of quality.

Some of you may not know but Majin Buu in the original broadcast English Dub had a voice filter and I absolutely love it to this day it’s the best version of the voice. In the remastered sets they removed the filter for some odd reason in Kai they made a attempt to bring it back however it lacked the same punch as the original which do you prefer?

Finally reached the 2nd OP of Star Driver, which was storyboarded by Kazuya Tsurumaki! Its a more traditional opening compared to the first one with some significantly more nudity, but when that chorus kicks in and the mecha animation goes all out, its an exhilarating feeling.

Looks like on the visual side, the engine upgrade for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will focus on two main aspects: -Overhauled lighting, improving Lumen's indirect lighting and reflections, as well as direct lighting and shadows. -Reworked Landscape and Foliage, which will look denser and more natural. These are all great additions, but I'm more interested in the performance side, especially CPU performance, which was a major issue at launch. I'm planning to cover the new update when it launches, with comparisons between the day-one version (if I can access it) and the newest build, along with the usual in-depth look at the graphics settings and how they affect the visuals and performance. #Stalker2HeartOfChornobyl

DC Comics has released an animated version of the first issue of the DC x Sonic the Hedgehog - Chaos Crisis comic on its YouTube channel. Chaos Crisis was the first arc of the crossover, which was published in 2025. In this video, all the panels from the issue have been brought to life through visual effects, the breakdown of the artwork into layers, and the addition of character movements. However, there is no voice acting, only music and sound effects. You can watch the full version via the link in the thread. #SonicTheHedgehog #DCComics #SonicNews

Opus 4.7 cs GPT 5.4 “make a flappy bird clone” I’ve been running this test for a few models now and this test was the hardest to objectively say who did better. Opus grabbed another version game assets compared to GPT 5.4, - GPT 5.4 however, grabbed the correct game assets. Opus 4.7 beat it on creativity where it grabbed assets (maybe unknowingly) that had a much more diverse set, including nighttime modes and different bird colors GPT 5.4 was able to get the pacing of the game the first shot, whereas Opus had the game running much too fast and then much too slow. But was able to place the metal perfectly in the game card at the end where GPT 5.4 struggled over 10 iterations. All in all both models had essentially made a near perfect game after three shots and are far ahead of the competition in terms of reasoning and effort.

I used to play Street Fighter II all the time, but the first time I saw Art of Fighting, the visual impact was unbelievable. The characters filled the entire screen, fighting with overwhelming intensity. And when the distance between them increased, the screen would dynamically zoom out — that effect felt absolutely revolutionary at the time. It was stunning. On top of that, the facial damage system was incredibly realistic. The more you got hit, the more your character’s face would swell and bruise. It added a level of immersion that I had never experienced before. And did you know? The concept of the “super move” was first introduced in Art of Fighting. That was the legendary Ryuko Ranbu. When your life gauge was almost empty, you could unleash it and turn the tide of battle in a single moment. That comeback mechanic felt amazing. Oh, and if I remember correctly, this was also the very first “100 Mega Shock” game. The game was later ported to the SNES, Sega Genesis, and PC Engine CD. Among them, the PC Engine version was surprisingly faithful to the arcade original.

The PC Engine was so expensive in the late ’80s and early ’90s that it was hard to find even in the homes of well-off friends. On top of that, it had one of the first CD-ROM add-ons, which made it feel incredibly high-tech at the time. Because of its larger storage capacity, many arcade games were ported to it, and the CD-quality audio was absolutely amazing. The real issue, though, was the price. You had to buy everything separately—the PC Engine itself, the CD interface (docking unit), the CD-ROM drive, the system card, and the game CDs.

One of the Grand Theft Auto V downsides was that it didn't match GTA IV in terms of euphoria ragdoll physics, in this example here you can see how easily the NPCs die when you shoot them on the foot. Part of the reason why I believe the euphoria engine was downgraded was due to the scale of GTA V and that it was designed for PS3/Xbox 360 consoles. Fast Forward a generation later, Red Dead Redemption 2 is much better compared to this, but I still prefer the one in Grand Theft Auto IV. When GTA VI comes out, perhaps we will see a more improved version of euphoria ragdoll physics which will be a mix of both GTA IV style ragdolls and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Ray Tracing in #DeathStranding2PC is quite limited, which is expected since the game wasn’t originally built with RT in mind and this is the first implementation on the Decima Engine. RT reflections only apply to some opaque surfaces, bodies of water and tar, and they still lean on standard SSR underneath. The High RT setting uses High SSR as a base, which lets it slightly outperform the heavier Very High SSR in many scenes, but it also shows more noise, especially with upscaling. RTAO, as usual is very subtle visually and doesn’t seem to impact performance at least in the scenes I tested. It mainly just bumps up VRAM usage.

Who remembers this little gem from 1989? Super Off Road was different in that it fit the entire track on one screen. The tiniest cars, the craziest tracks, and some of the most fun gameplay ever - especially in multiplayer mode. Between stages you could upgrade your truck with nitro, top speed, shocks, and more. Super simple concept, all-out fun game.

The Chaos Engine (Bitmap Brothers, 1993) is a great steampunk style action game, in typical Bitmap Brothers briliant fashion with excellent graphics and sound. You can play it in single-player mode (the computer will take on the role of the second player) or with a friend in two-player mode. Six characters are available to choose from, all with their own skillset and strength & weaknesses: Navvie, Thug, Brigand, Mercenary, Gentleman and Preacher/Scientist. Something I only found out later: For the North American release, the Preacher character was redesigned slightly and renamed as the Scientist because the game's North American publishers felt that a priest killing people was offensive. Not the most complex or innovative game (some even called it just a Gauntlet clone), yet highly playable and fun. Bitmap Brothers games always delivered!

Super Mario Bros. DX for the Game Boy Color is fascinating in many ways. If you ever wondered why they started with Mario 2 in their Advance series on the GBA, it's because 1 got its glow up about 2 years prior. DX featured a basic world map and a challenge mode with red coins or yoshi eggs. The biggest difference is obviously in the visuals. The Game Boy Color lives up to its name, delivering over double the onscreen colors of the NES. The system was more than capable of running the game nice and smoothly even with the added color. The audio got a nice boost, even though it's still 8-bit. Stereo sound goes a long way. The elephant in the room is the resolution. The GBC outputs roughly 60% what the NES can, so there's a ton that gets left out if you're going 1 to 1 for console games. Luckily Mario 1 isn't exactly an intense game, and they give you options to help. Pressing Select will pull the camera up to let you see more ahead of you, and pressing up and down scrolls respectively. I'm sad I never got to see this on my system back then. I bet it looks amazing on the Color's screen. #RetroGaming

Some of the things that'll come to the Labyrinth in future updates are some new weapons, and a NG+ mode that will mix things up a bit. More details closer to the time. I'm still working on all the feedback you guys have given, and I'm grateful for the continued support the game's continued to receive. As always, thank you for the support, and if you enjoyed the game please leave a review. If you haven't gotten Labyrinth of the Demon King, it's available on PC and all consoles now.
