He hit the nail right on the head. Expecting poorly equipped forest guards to tackle heavily armed insurgents; when the military, Police, and DSS with all their resources are still struggling; is completely unrealistic. We need to stop shifting the goalposts and fund actual tactical operations.

Sir, forest guards are local and know the terrain of their forest better than the police and the army. The president is wise enough and has wide consultation before arriving at his decision. No military or police can know your village and all the routes better than you.

Forest guards are largely recruited from within the communities they are meant to protect, trained with the help of the police and armed forces and sponsored by the state govts. Their presence is meant to complement the activities of the conventional security agencies.

In the US and other developed countries they have a similar forest policing system too, some even called it the forest guards… these people monitor the forest and give security updates to the police

A big joke at that.
