The successful catch shaking animation is different than almost-catch, starting from the very first shake. For a long time I felt like I've "somehow known" when a catch is a success, on the first shake. I suspected that actually I was just getting lucky and letting confirmation bias get...

This is from today's #WCWS game. This was ruled a base hit when it happened (you can see the 'H' pop up), but was changed to a missed catch error by the first baseman at the bottom of the fourth. This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard. This throw has to be to the glove, and while it's not a wild throw, it's low enough that the first baseman cannot get her glove around it in time. This is where replay gets you in trouble. The slo-mo replay makes it look like it's a catchable ball, but it isn't. In real time, at live speed, this isn't an error. This isn't a missed catch or a drop. I was loving the call of a single, especially because it was the first hit, and then, when it was changed, it felt like it was to protect a no-hitter. Everything about this screams "above ordinary effort" ... I would have left this as a single.

.Elon Musk’s reaction to Starship Flight 5 booster catch. Flight 6 is just over a week away with another booster catch, but also with new objectives like the first ever Raptor engine in-space relight. If the relight is successful, it’ll enable orbital Starship payload missions.

Have you ever heard of fire on the mountain? Do you know what it means? I spent DAYS trying to catch it on film for y’all. Sadly, I didn’t catch a really great view of it. But I did catch a small glimpse. ❤️

If this isn’t a CATCH, just cancel the sport of football No one knows what a catch is anymore INSANE effort by Puka Nacua, unbelievable coordination and hand-eye I see enough control and I see toes dragging, game on the line, it’s a catch for me

Draymond on Steph Curry's eye condition during Warriors dynasty run "I remember him coming to me like 'Yo, I gotta go get my eyes checked'... then it got to a point where he'd wear (contacts) some time and not wear (contacts) some time, and it's like now you have to recalculate when you can't see and when you can see.... he said 'when I shoot, at the last second I just need to catch the front of the rim, as long as I can catch the front of the rim, I don't care how my body is, where I am, as long as I can get my eyes on the front of the rim at the last second, I'm good', It just shows you how much muscle memory it is." 📺 Watch on YouTube | 🎧 Listen everywhere podcasts are available

All Daniel Bellinger does is catch the damn football. This was the best pitch and catch of the day for Russell Wilson vs the Commanders. I know a lot of #NYGiants fans won't say it but Bellinger deserves to be starting TE until further notice. We been saying it a ton on the show

Qullamaggie on Buying Near the Moving Averages “You want to buy them near the moving averages. One thing you will find is the best breakouts pretty much all the great breakouts happen from where when the price is at the 10 or the 20 moving average. That’s one of the first things you will notice. I bought SPCE two days ago but you know I shouldn’t have done that. Sometimes FOMO gets the best of me. But now the moving averages are starting to catch up and look how clean of a move it is. Had one leg higher and now it’s digesting with higher lows. Compare it to IDEX - it’s hard to explain, like you need to do the work and you will see it for yourself. You will learn how to identify a good setup. But the key is the 10 day and and or the 20-day needs to catch up the price. MSTR where did I buy it? I bought it here when it flagged showed relative strength and the moving averages caught up to price.”

I’m very excited that College Football is going the way of the NFL where any given catch can be determined to be incomplete if you slow it down 10x and look for the ball moving a single centimeter This is a catch. And it’s gross that it was overturned

Morgan Housel’s keys to successful writing are brevity and storytelling. Three highlights: 1) “Brevity doesn’t mean it’s short. It just means it’s to the point.” 2) “Can I catch your attention with a story?” 3) “Can I make sure I don’t lose your attention once I have it?”

Timing Based Catching has a TON of mixed reactions for College Football 27 So... I figured I'd clear the air... This is a GREAT add This takes the old system, lets you still use it, and adds "Skill Gap" on top If you get a "Yellow" Catch, it's the same as previous years Get a "Green"? You'll catch it, UNLESS the Defense touches the ball first, or they get a Perfect Hit on you Get a "Red".... you'll drop it. BUT, Reds only happen when you hold onto the Meter for too long AND... If you HATE the idea... you can turn the Meter Off! AND... You can do this on Defense which is awesome

Congratulations to the SpaceX Falcon team on an incredible day: another successful Falcon Heavy launch from the East Coast, followed by a sunset Starlink launch from the West Coast. I was lucky enough to catch both launches in person. Long day, but absolutely worth it.

I was indeed candid, while you are not. This is the important part of my answer that you chose to redact. No news here, just a pathetic attempt to catch me out.

Rob Gronkowski says Tom Brady refused to leave a fourth-quarter blowout against the coach's wishes so he could throw Gronk the 55th catch that triggered a $500,000 bonus "It was the third quarter, we were up like 35–0, so they pulled the starters. But Tampa's cool. They want you to make all the possible money that you can make." "Our offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich always said in the meeting, there's two things that you take away from football in the end: it's your relationships and it's the money that you make." "Those are the two things that stick with you forever. And he says, 'If we're up, obviously the most important thing is to win the game, but if we're up and you need an extra catch, we're going to get you that extra catch. We're going to get you that money.'" "Tom was like, 'Hey, we got to get one more catch.' We drew a play right on the sideline. 'Hey Rob, motion across, you're just going to run a diagonal, I'm going to hit you.' And boom… I actually did an illegal motion, but they didn't call it because the game was way out of reach. That was my 55th catch to hit my last incentive in my contract."
