Nissan has unveiled its next-gen driver assist AI technology called ProPilot, which the company says will be on par with Tesla's FSD when it is released by March 2028. “We think ours is smarter than Tesla FSD, just not as polished as a product,” said Nissan. The prototype vehicles feature 11 cameras, 5 radar sensors, and a next-generation LiDAR sensor. Starting next year sensors and cameras to monitor you are mandated in every new car in the United States “In 2021, Congress added provisions to an infrastructure bill that requires automakers to install infrared cameras and sensors in every vehicle. These cameras and sensors will create a constant biometric assessment of driver alertness and sobriety, of course, for your safety. If the integrated artificial intelligence systems determine that you're drunk or tired, it could prevent the car from turning on or limit your vehicle speed. The regulation eliminates privacy inside of your personal vehicle. The sensors inside your vehicle will constantly track eye movement, pupil dilation, and drowsiness patterns. Other autonomy providers bolt on their own sensors, with their owning cleaning. Tesla integrates it all together. The same wipers that clean the windshield also clean the front cameras. If you’re Waymo, how do you even go about reprogramming the windshield wiper routine for all the different car brands and models you run on? You don’t, you create a separate cleaning system for your own sensors. Tesla makes the car. They make the software that runs on the car. They control all the parts. They run the ride share service. They own the charging network. They own the service network. And they are making all of it fit together to deliver the best, the simplest, and the most elegant autonomy solution. It's powered by a diesel engine that drives a generator, which then powers electric motors driving the tracks. The fuel tank allows for 24 hours of continuous operation. (nice!) The rear hitch has an 8-ton lift capacity, the front has 3 tons. It's equipped with electric PTO, hydraulic pump, and all the connections you'd find on a traditional tractor, meaning you can attach standard farm implements. Safety and navigation are handled by a LiDAR sensor on top, ultrasonic and radar sensors, and contact-sensitive bumpers. RTK GNSS receiver provides positioning accuracy down to 2.5 cm, with a module for bidirectional data transmission and RTK correction. It's powered by a diesel engine that drives a generator, which then powers electric motors driving the tracks. The fuel tank allows for 24 hours of continuous operation. (nice!) The rear hitch has an 8-ton lift capacity, the front has 3 tons. It's equipped with electric PTO, hydraulic pump, and all the connections you'd find on a traditional tractor, meaning you can attach standard farm implements. Safety and navigation are handled by a LiDAR sensor on top, ultrasonic and radar sensors, and contact-sensitive bumpers. RTK GNSS receiver provides positioning accuracy down to 2.5 cm, with a module for bidirectional data transmission and RTK correction.
