If I'm not mistaken most of the paper straws if not stated specifically 100% paper used a plastic resin to bind them or as an adhesive. And there's no paper straw i have ever used twice. At least with a plastic one if I was environmentally conscious I could reuse it

PFAS, chemicals harmful to human health, animals and the environment, were found in a recent 2023 study, to be highest in paper straws. Note paper straws often also come wrapped in plastic. Poly-& perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are "forever chemicals".

The paper straws are absolutely useless. They also come wrapped in plastic at every single fast food outlet on the planet. Go figure. Trump is not stupid, he can be irrational but he does having quite the knack of calling out BS.

It’s good for the economy, good for the environment, and solves a serious problem with plastic waste. I’ll keep leading on this issue through my work in Congress and look forward to working with Lee Zeldin on this common sense policy solution.
