We discussed various vectors of cooperation – how to achieve real peace and guarantee Ukraine’s security. I expressed condolences to the American people over the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk and thanked President Trump for his condolences and response to the brutal murder of Ukrainian citizen Iryna Zarutska in North Carolina. It is important that justice prevail every time violence seeks to take hold. We are also preparing for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. We discussed planned events, coordination between Ukraine and the U.S., and work within the Coalition of the Willing. We are working on potential meetings and various formats.

A productive meeting with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš. We discussed in detail the bilateral areas of our relations – there is real potential to deepen our cooperation. We also separately discussed the European track and the next steps on Ukraine’s path to membership in the European Union. I thank the entire Czech people for their tremendous and heartfelt support for Ukraine – we truly appreciate it.

I met with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev. Thank you for the substantive talks. We discussed in detail the development of our cooperation and energy security, including at the regional level. We also addressed preparations for consultations between Ukraine and Bulgaria aimed at developing joint projects. I invited Bulgaria to begin work on a special agreement in the Drone Deal format. We agreed to task our teams with following up on all the issues discussed and preparing a number of bilateral documents.

In a session on the Middle East with regional partners. First, we need to ensure the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, without restrictions. Second, the events in the Strait have highlighted vulnerabilities that we need to adress. We should work together to alternative supply routes and new corridors, such as the IMEC. With better connectivity, we can transform vulnerabilities into opportunities. We also discussed Lebanon. Because a stable and peaceful Middle East requires a stable and peaceful Lebanon.

On my way to Ukraine, I met with Ireland’s Taoiseach Simon Harris TD. We discussed support for Ukraine and continued cooperation in demining and cybersecurity. We further emphasized the importance of implementing the Development Road project and connecting the Gulf countries, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region with Türkiye and Europe through a railway network.

I met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during my working visit to Italy for the G7 Summit. We discussed the development of bilateral relations and trade, in particular in the context of the Black Sea export corridor functioning. We explored the possibility of exchanging experience in the use of new technologies in agriculture. We also talked about the Global Peace Summit and issues on its agenda. I thank Prime Minister Modi for sending a high-level delegation to the Summit.

We are also ready for the next round of trilateral meetings. We also discussed the Ukraine Recovery Conference, work on good-neighborly relations in the region, and contacts with partners. I am grateful to Poland for its support of Ukraine’s European integration. We hope for the opening of negotiation clusters for EU accession in the near future.

We discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, the escalation by Russia against European countries, and the cases of detected drones in Poland, Romania, and Denmark, as well as fighter jets in Estonia. A swift response and action are needed. We also focused on the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine and on further tightening sanctions against Russia, in particular regarding its shadow tanker fleet. I thank Emmanuel and all of France for supporting Ukraine and for efforts aimed at bringing peace closer.

Today, I met for the first time with Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. We discussed the continuation of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. I am grateful for all the support provided to our country. We also discussed the threats posed by Russia, in particular its violations of NATO countries’ airspace, and the importance of pressure on the Russian Federation to end the war and prevent its aggression from spreading to other European countries. The Prince praised the courage of Ukrainians and said important words: Ukraine is defending not only itself, but all of Europe. We value such solidarity with our people.

We also exchanged views on the efforts needed to achieve peace for Ukraine, the priorities of Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026, and coordinated positions for further diplomatic work. I thanked him for the recently announced 30th defense package worth €52 million and for Finland’s accession to the PURL initiative with a contribution of €100 million. This is real support for our defense. We also discussed cooperation within the SAFE instrument for the procurement of long-range missiles, drones, and artillery ammunition. Special attention was given to the Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure. I informed the Prime Minister about the strikes, and we discussed the restoration of relevant facilities and contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting.
