🇨🇦🛢️🏭 : BC Premier David Eby says he is open to building a refinery in British Columbia to cut off imports of oil & gas from the USA. He announced this after being asked if he would lift the tanker ban across the Northern BC Coast. Eby says the TMX expansion is not being utilized at capacity and thus he sees no need for a new taxpayer funded pipeline. David also says there is no offer from the private sector to build a pipeline. Enbridge wanted to build the Northern Gateway pipeline 10 years ago. We also had a private offer to build a multi billion $ refinery in Kitimat. Both projects were cancelled because Justin Trudeau & David Eby made it impossible for private investors. In the case of the Northern Gateway pipeline, Justin Trudeau cancelled it in 2016 despite that line having First Nation consent & billions in equity shares in the line. Something I have posted about repeatedly, including a few days ago. Enbridge also spent $1 billion on consultations and environmental impact assessments, only to have the new Liberal government ax the project anyways. Once the BC NDP came to power, they made it next to impossible for a refinery project to be built by ensuring the process would cost far too much, while having too much uncertainty, to be viable. We lost a decade of prosperity because of Justin Trudeau's Liberals & the BC NDP pushing their self serving agendas. Only to now watch David Eby backtrack 10 years later. This should infuriate everyone. We could have had that refinery built by now and be domestically benefitting from & exporting premium jet fuel, gasoline, diesel & various types of crude. The reality is, David Eby is a failure & should be stepping down so a competent government can take over.

"If this pipe is able to attract legitimate oil producers who are willing to commit to put oil in this pipeline for the long term, then we're really going to have a foundation that can actually realize this project." "That wasn't evident on Thursday night and there are still concerns about whether that will be achieved given the issues related to the competitiveness of that production in the face of existing Canadian carbon taxes and the whole issue of imposing decarbonization mandates that is the Pathways Project" "So I am confident that if this project is able to attract long term commitments of supply from those five major oil sands producers, if that is achieved, then the federal government, or the Alberta government for that matter, will be able to auction off the interest in this project to private sector elements." "If that's put in place, then I'm confident that private sector elements will be able to bid for these positions and the federal government and the Alberta government won't have to be the residual owners of it."

Today there was a presser announcing the submission to the "major projects office" of the pipeline expansion from Alberta to the coast of BC. In this clip a reporter asks why there is a need to have government subsidization of it. Premier replies that it's because there is so much industry uncertainty involving pipeline development (due to so many costly cancelled approvals in the past) that having government subsidies give assurance to the contractors that the project won't be cancelled. She also noted that the project would be a lucrative investment for taxpayers. Carney added that the "de-risked" TMX is added a fair amount of money to social programs for all Canadians. He talks about other similar "investments" into nuclear projects and data centres and that the government's role is "catalytic" in all of that. He says it's the federal government's role to create the conditions unlock the ability of private companies to invest and build. He said this is for the benefit of all Albertans and Canadians. _____ Of course this is all doublespeak. What we are seeing is a transition to having even more state owned control of our valuable resources. There will be a continued massive beaurocratic bloat coupled with patronage appointments. All the feds have to do is stop with the regulatory nonsense and the rest would fall into place. The march to having increased control of this country and it's citizens continues. British Columbia David Eby is blaming everyone but himself that Nutrien has decided to export out of the US than BC: "The Nutrien decision gets me agitated. Instead of Premier Scott Moe calling me up, engaging with me about this huge billion dollar decision whether to ship potash out of British Columbia or out of Washington state he was engaging with Danielle Smith on this nonexistent pipeline project. I didn't hear from the federal government about the Nutrien decision." Eby is toxic & anti-business approach of attacking everyone while businesses and people might be losing their lands and is surprised that capital isn't choosing BC. The fact that he isn't even in the 'know' of what is going on in the business world should also tell you how bad his advisors are.

The Conservative leadership race in British Columbia matters just as much outside BC, as it does inside, for numerous reasons. By being the WOKE capital of Canada, BC has rolled out numerous toxic policies that slowly trickle east. Like injection sites. Now Eby is working to ensure no one is willing to risk even proposing a pipeline because he will make sure it wastes mega money before being rejected, just in consultations. Eby is sabotaging our economy. Eby flooded Canada with "safe supply" pills taxpayers paid for. Eby is a toxic sore that has infected Canada & needs to be removed by voters or even by the police.

David Eby's whole premises of being against an oil pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia's coast is that First Nations might throw a hissy fit and then be against all the other projects happening on the coast (LNG). "The threat to these projects (LNG) is that coastal First Nations saying that if you lift the tanker ban we will no longer support these projects, we don't even like them in the first place." Complete bs. First of all, many of the actual coastal First Nations are a part of these projects as they get billions in backing to buy in. Second of all, the prosperity of Canada will not be held back by a few villages that need taxpayer dollars to live off. Thirdly, the tankers are not going down the coast of BC but leaving for Asia

I warned everyone David Eby likely will use the Federal agreement to cookie cutter away most public land & coastal waters, to First Nations. I also warn March 3rd, the BC Supreme Court of Appeal may use the Federal recognition of land title, in their decision on the Cowichan land title appeal, for a developed portion of Richmond BC. That may very well pave the way for the elimination of private property rights in land claim zones. Apparently the minority Federal government can give away the land title of an entire region, without public consent or debate. The Provincial government feels this is so acceptable, it wants to mirror the practice. If you listen carefully to Eby, the new scheme is a system where people are too scared to invest in BC because there are too many parties that can veto a project. As we have recently seen, even when a project is 70% complete. That is a massive financial loss for any investor & a risk most will not take, without serious government help.
