A vehicle caught fire just a few meters from... the Otjiwarongo roadblock earlier today. According to information gathered by the NBC crew en route to a sports assignment, the vehicle burst into flames while in motion. The driver managed to escape the rapidly spreading fire and was not injured. Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) officials were among the first responders at the scene and offered assistance but were unable to contain the blaze. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when travelling on major routes and to report any emergencies immediately. At least 260 children have been killed by Israel's... relentless attack on Gaza which continued overnight and through this morning. The death toll in the besieged enclave since the start of Israel's air strikes on Saturday has risen to 1,055 while 5,184 people have been injured and 260,000 displaced. Local authorities reported significant casualties when Israel targeted the home of an international law expert in Gaza City. The Israeli Air Force said they had hit 450 targets in the previous 24 hours. Since the surprise attacks by the Palestinian resistance on Saturday, Israel has imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, cutting off food, water and power. UNRWA said it only has two weeks supply of food and water for the 180,000 people who have sought refuge in their schools. Local officials in Gaza have also warned that a power plant is due to shut down in a matter of hours due to a lack of fuel as a result of the Israeli blockade. Despite the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday "we stand with Israel." Biden also described the attacks by Palestinian resistance groups as "unadulterated evil". However, US officials said that Washington was working with other countries on a plan to offer safe passage out of Gaza for civilians. On Tuesday, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters that Israel's blockade of Gaza was illegal and that aid from Brussels would continue. Iranian officials have continue to deny their involvement in Saturday's attacks, while Egyptian intelligence officials have claimed they gave Israel prior warning of the attacks. On Tuesday Israel also attacked the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt. Earlier today, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israeli... Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the surrender of Hamas’ Beit Hanoun ‘Battalion’ (original size smaller than typical battalion strength formations) in the city of Beit Hanoun. The IDF said that three Hamas terrorists emerged from a tunnel and subsequently surrendered to the IDF’s Givati Brigade, while also indicating a previously killed terrorist had been with them as well. They also surrendered a nearby weapons and provisions cache where ammunition, grenades, vests, magazines, food, water and hygiene products were found. An immediate interrogation was done by the IDF before they were passed on to other agencies for interrogation. While the surrender of the three men likely does not constitute a full and/or unconditional surrender of Beit Hanoun by Hamas, the IDF assesses that “The Beit Hanoun Battalion, which posed a threat to Nir Am and Sderot, surrendered and was defeated.”show more

The trial will enroll contacts of people with the disease, and contacts of the contacts. This vaccination trial was initiated with record speed, only three days since the outbreak was declared, while ensuring full compliance with international and national regulatory and ethical requirements. It is also the first trial to assess the clinical efficacy of a vaccine against Ebola Sudan virus disease. This trial demonstrates the importance of investing in R&D for vaccines and treatments and outbreak response preparedness, as well as partnerships. We thank Makerere University University and UVRI for their leadership, as well as Africa CDC, CEPI, EU HERA and IDRC | CRDI for their collaboration on this lifesaving effort. Just before 12:30 Monday afternoon, the FDNY responded to... a 4-alarm fire at 44-49 College Point Boulevard in Queens. Tragically, four people lost their lives in this fire. Two other victims were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. During operations, a stairwell collapsed, trapping two of our members. They were transported to area hospitals in stable condition. More than 230 firefighters and EMS personnel responded. “This is a difficult and tragic day. There were several victims in this fire. The Fire Department did an extraordinary job under difficult circumstances, putting this fire out and saving people. I can't thank them enough for their continued efforts and commitment to life safety,” said Fire Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore. “Upon arrival, we had heavy fire on all three floors of this building. There was a victim trapped on the second floor, which our members removed with a portable ladder. As our engine companies were moving in from the first floor and up the stairs to the second floor, the stairs collapsed, and those two members were trapped in the stairs. With additional help, we were able to extricate those members. As all that is happening, other members are performing CPR on the victims in the street,” said Chief of Fire Operations Kevin Woods. The fire was placed under control just before 2:45 p.m. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.show more

Around 8:55 am on Boxing Day 26th December 2025,... as I was coming back from my night duty, I saw this car doing like 80-90 miles/hr on a 60 mile/hr road. Temperature was 1 degree Celsius and roads were icy. I was worried because that road has loads of bends and it was crazy to see someone speeding like that on that road. Not up to 3 minutes, this chap approaching a bend suddenly went on his brakes, then lost control as the car started skidding. To our left is a hill, and beyond this hill is a river. This guy climbed that hill with speed. He drove on it for like 5 seconds while trying to re-establish control of the car, then the car came down and he struggled for another 3 seconds and then regained control, he sped off and continued driving. By this time, I had slowed down and was observing what was happening as I was just behind him. The broken parts of his car littered the road but this dude continued driving and speeding. This got me worried, he had a near death experience, every normal person would stop, park and soak in whatever that happened, and most especially, see his car and the damage done. This guy continued speeding like a mad man. I couldn’t call police because I was driving and not allowed to touch my phone, but I was dead worried this dude might be driving a stolen car ( because how do you smash your car in this economy and not park to even see the damage?). The tyre might be damaged and if he continues speeding like that, can have a tyre burst and crash into on coming vehicle. So I made up my mind to follow him. I started flashing lights, he noticed and slowed down, then I went close but he sped off again. I followed him again and continued flashing lights. I was just policing him until he parked and I double crossed him and had a go at him. I sha called the police and passed his details to him. After a thorough investigation, the Subcommittee uncovered evidence substantiating that the Department of Defense intentionally delayed the deployment of the D.C. National Guard to the Capitol on January 6, 2021. In addition, the DoD IG concealed the extent and cause of the delay to protect Department of Defense and Pentagon leadership. The Subcommittee found multiple instances where the DoD IG failed to disclose evidence that contradicted the DoD IG's erroneous conclusion. The DoD IG’s report reflects an alarming failure to adequately evaluate the actions of senior DoD officials, including Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy, who failed to communicate deployment orders to Major General William Walker, the Commander of the DCNG on January 6. "My Subcommittee worked with the DoD IG in good faith throughout our investigation to provide multiple opportunities for the DOD IG to produce corroborating materials or evidence to support their conclusions,” said Chairman Loudermilk. Unfortunately, the DoD IG continues to promote an inaccurate narrative that protects senior Pentagon officials and attempts to cast fault on the D.C. Omer Neutra, 22, commanding three 19-year-old soldiers: Cpl. Nimrod Cohen as gunner, Sgt. Oz Daniel as radio operator-loader, and Sgt. Shaked Dahan as driver. The team was positioned in the south near Nir Oz, and on October 7, they immediately mobilized to defend their sector. However, their tank suffered a critical malfunction, reportedly a brake failure, leaving them vulnerable. Hamas terrorists attacked their tank with RPGs and explosive devices. Omer, Oz, and Shaked were all killed in the assault, and their bodies were taken to Gaza, while Nimrod was abducted alive to the Strip. Footage of Gazans standing around the burning tank, celebrating, and dragging Nimrod from inside became some of the most haunting images for Israelis in the wake of October 7. Dahan’s remains were recovered from Gaza by the IDF in August 2024, and Nimrod was freed from Hamas captivity last week after two years. Omer and Oz’s bodies, however, are still being held by Hamas in Gaza. Nimrod cannot heal until his friends are buried with the dignity they deserve in Israel. I reported my abuse in 2010. I decided that... day I need to get justice. I drove down to Coventry from Huddersfield, walked into Little park street police station and made my complaint. Over 3 days I did multiple interviews in special units in Coventry and Halifax. I had to take myself back and relive the trauma, and at times I felt I was there again re living everything. Lucky for me all the files from the children's home of the groomers turning up, ringing the unit phones was very well documented in my daily staff logs which are in archive in Coventry city Council buildings for 70 years. Also Coventry Evening Telegraph did a piece on me in 1999. They sent an undercover journalist into my children's home who then reported about the groomers calling us on the units phone and collecting us. The men also made telephone cards with thier numbers on advertising me which were found by the staff. Despite all this this, and hospital reports of some of my attacks 3 or 4 months into the investigation, my case was closed down. I gave up. Now I have hope. All the proof is there. For the first time in 30 years I feel like im going to be heard, and those responsible will face justice. The life long damage this has done to me has been difficult to live with, as ive also lost a baby girl who was forced adopted because the UK social services believed I would never be able to parent because of the damage caused. Imagine, I gave birth and they walked into the delivery room and took her even before the placenta was delivered. UK social services have alot to answer to. Locking us victims up for months at a time to keep us safe....but groomers allowed to roam free. Today my journey for justice really begins. I was reading some discussions about the drama recently, then I came across this interesting debate about this particular scene. So, both the male and female leads were drunk when they had a onenight stand, which later resulted in a pregnancy. Some viewers insisted that the drama should have placed the responsibility solely on the male lead, ‘he should have exercised more self control’ ‘the female lead didn’t give her consent’. so it was a back and forth convo as others felt that based on what was shown in the scene, both characters gave consent and therefore shared responsibility. NFF’s Director of Communications, Dr Ademola Olajire, provides a point-by-point account of how a keenly-anticipated Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match was relegated to a fiasco by Libyan federal authorities and Football Federation 1) The chartered ValueJet aircraft departed from the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo at 11.55hours on Sunday, 13th October 2024, and landed at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano at 13.10hours, for the completion of immigration formalities and for the aircraft to refuel. 2) The aircraft took off from Kano at 15.18hours, for the 3 hours and 35 minutes flight to Benghazi, Libya, expecting to arrive a few minutes before 8pm Libya time. 3) Just as he was about to commence his initial approach into Benghazi, the captain (pilot) was instructed by the control tower that he could not land in Benghazi (despite having all the required landing papers and having completed all formalities before leaving Uyo and later, Kano, but should proceed to the Al-Abraq International Airport, even though the airport lacked the control navigators for landing at such hours. He complained that he was short on fuel but his words fell on deaf ears as he was told in stern manner that the directive was from ‘higher authorities.’ 4) On landing at the Al-Abraq International Airport, in the small town of Labraq, at 19.50hours, it was clear that the airport was not a well-utilized facility. There were no scanning machines or the usual equipment for this service, and officials had to make do with mobile phones to scan passport data pages. 5) The delegation, which included 22 players and team officials; NFF President Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau; Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu; a couple of NFF Board members; NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi; a couple of parliamentarians; a couple of NFF Management; a couple of media representatives and; a couple of stakeholders, was shown scant respect by the airport authorities who applied curt manners and stern tones. 6) It took over one hour for the team’s luggage to roll through the carousel, despite the fact that the bags and other items had already been hauled from the aircraft immediately on arrival. 7) No official of the Libyan Football Federation was at the airport to receive the delegation, as is the best practice globally. Airport officials could not answer the simple question on where the buses that would take the delegation members back to Benghazi (where the NFF had booked hotel rooms) were. 8) When delegation members including the NFF President, Comrade Shaibu and Dr Sanusi attempted to venture outside the airport to ascertain if there were vehicles waiting for the team, they were stopped in the most uncouth of manners by airport security personnel. 9) Calls to the General Secretary of LFF, Mr. Abdul-Nasser by Dr Sanusi yielded no fruits as the former kept promising that the buses would arrive in ‘10 minutes’, which later became ‘two hours’, and afterwards, ‘three hours.’ Later in the evening, it was no longer possible to reach him on phone. Frustrated by this attitude, Dr Sanusi approached the security operatives to request that the team be allowed to go out and board the buses the NFF eventually hired. This request was rejected with insults. It took the intervention of the NFF dignitaries to prevent what would have escalated into a row as the NFF President himself was not spared when he heard exchange of voices between the security personnel and his General Secretary. This aggravated the tension and further frustrated the team. 10) Hour after hour, and with mounting frustration, delegation members, particularly the players, grew restless. There was no food or water provided by the LFF, or where to even procure these items, and there was no network or internet connection at the airport. I went to a typical lower-income rural town in... Guangxi, China... Here’s what I found. We go back to my girlfriend's hometown every year. We stay in a rural community on the outskirts of a town that I consider pretty big and busy, but is probably small in China terms 😅. Living there honestly didn't feel particularly different in terms of day to day comfort — fast internet, modern appliances, decent homes, cars and scooters everywhere, normal roads and all the everyday conveniences you'd expect. Many people here live at least partly off the land, growing crops both to eat and sell. Our family owns their home outright — no mortgage or any type of loan. Chinese people avoid bank loans wherever possible, almost allergic to the idea haha. Owning your house outright is very typical in these communities. This allows most of their income to go towards things like sending their kids to university, helping them buy apartments in bigger cities and funding retirement etc. And I actually love staying here though. Life is way more quieter and super chill. Beautiful scenery, friendly people who seem happier in general. Everyone seems to get by by helping and doing favours for each other. A family friend gave us a car to borrow for the week 🙏. We'd ride our scooters into town for food, late-night BBQ sticks or bubble tea, or head to the nearest larger town for bars, nightlife and karaoke. The town itself has everything you'd expect — multiple supermarkets, restaurants, schools and general stores. Although somehow much busier than plenty of Western towns 😂...Packed markets, really bustling and busy during the day The roads are perfectly decent too, nothing worse than you'd find a few hours outside a major Australian city. The closest big city with an airport is around two hours away and easy to reach with what seems like infinite buses haha. it's scruffier and less polished than China's major cities, to be expected obviously, same as anywhere. There's no railway station, DiDi or much food delivery — although some restaurants will deliver to your house for free, which was cool. Buses are frequent and the main form of public transport, connecting people to schools, larger towns and nearby cities. -- China haters will tell you how desperately impoverished and unliveable rural China is. How are insecure attachments repaired? This week I’ve been... exploring the concept of attachment (a deep emotional bond created between parents and their children during the earliest months and years of life). In doing so I’ve focused primarily on the goal of secure attachment. But not all attachments begin securely. Which begs a pair of questions: What causes insecure attachments and how can they be strengthened? While anxious and disorganized attachment types can certainly result from erratic parenting, the toxic stress created by unsafe environments, and/or abuse and neglect, it’s important to keep in mind that early relational challenges occur on a broad spectrum of severity and sometimes aren’t the result of any parental shortcoming at all. In fact, some root causes may not even be within parental control. Children born extremely prematurely, for example, may spend weeks or months in a neonatal intensive care unit. While essential to their survival, the situation can limit early interaction with even the most attentive and well equipped parents. What else might impact attachment quality? The list is likely a long one. Severe postpartum depression, a prolonged military deployment… anything that might present a barrier to strong relational health between a parent and child. In complex (traumatic) cases of disorganized attachment, families may require a combination of specialized infant mental health services, therapy, and other professional supports. But in many cases the solution is as simple as a heaping dose of what was missing in the first place: predictably warm and responsive interactions. Children are remarkably resilient - and while it may take time to create updated patterns of interaction and establish them as the “new normal,” insecure attachments can often become secure with focused effort. The week has been a great one with lots... of updates on different scales and different events altogether, but that doesn't also rule out the fact that there's still sense to make out in all of these. Here are a few of the projects I have my eyes on and their recent updates; - Cysic (mainnet arc) has announced their token standards. $CYS and $CGT; 2 tokens with a single mission, to make Compute-Fi as seamless as possible. $CYS serves as the network token for paying gas and keeping the chain running, while $CGT serves as the governance token to give holders a voice. This just gives out more hints that Mainnet might just be close. - The KYC Verification and subscription went live in preparation for $MMT community offering launching very soon on Buidlpad. This is all in line with the MomentumⓂ️Ⓜ️T sale community offering coming soon. The KYC & subscription ended on the 25th, while the contribution window commences on the 27th. If you wish to be a part of the sale, ensure you didn't forget to KYC and subscribe. - After weeks of shrouding in mystery, the integra. team finally discloses what they had been building all along in silence. A chain that plans to bring in over $12B+ in untapped value across major RWAs to make trading them as seamless as possible. Integra is the chain made for Real Estate, Real World Assets and all that surrounds it. - Anichess has finally taken the snapshot for their official NFT collection; the Ethernals. The snapshot was completed on Ethereum Mainnet Block #23638874. The snapshot for the collection was done to reward holders of the NFTs a 10% supply of the Anichess's $CHECK token distribution at TGE. Solid holders IMO as I saw no sell pressure on the NFT collection even after the snapshot had been taken unlike regular collections out there. - One of my big bags and long term conviction partners; 0G Labs (Home of Infinite AI) has been steadily innovating with more and more updates rolled out daily. ZeroStack (FLGC); one of the finest storage banks and 0G's treasury just secured its second $0G purchase of over $1.9M+in value, bringing the total holding to 123.4M $0G tokens. Price has been stable and the community impeccable. There's more to come on 0G, I'll advice you position accordingly. - Lastly, I saved the best for the last because it was definitely worth it. We have become too shrouded with Kaito that we failed to realize a hidden potential right under our nose. Wallchain Quacks; another advancement of info-fi has proven to be more than an excellent choice to reward and incentivize its community. Limitless recently had their TGE and over 2,500,000.00 $LMTS tokens were distributed to the top 250 Quackers (Yappers equivalent). I hate best of lists, so I thought I’d... make one 😂. These are the top 10 things I ate in 2025, based on one criteria, how much I personally liked it… the list isn’t force ranked, as it was hard enough to narrow it down to 10… I might also mention, that while not on the list below, my favorite overall dinning experience would be dinner with my wife at The Eighty Six in NYC. And if you do take the time to read this whole post, which of these 10 would you like to try most? Have to start the list with the amazing Pasta ala Presse at Major Food Group’s The Grill in NYC, still my favorite pasta dish in all of NYC The White Truffle Pasta at Orsini in Zurich Roast Chicken at Maison Close in NYC, their wine list isn’t great and they don’t allow corkage, so I haven’t been back, but that chicken was spectacular Caramelized Onion Pizza with Gruyère, Nueske’s Bacon, and Morels, finished with fresh herbs and Maldon’s Salt in our Ooni, my backyard in Connecticut CONIGLIO AL FORNO - roasted rabbit saddle, confit legs and rabbit cappellacci at Santi NYC While service was a major miss, and the duck wasn’t served hot, it was room temperature, the honey lavender duck from three Michelin star Eleven Madison Park in NYC still makes the list, a true testament to how great this dish is… Hand-Dived Scallop with Cafe de Paris Butter at Noble Rot Mayfair in London which I paired with the 2020 Charles Lachaux, Bourgogne Aligote 'Les Champs d'Argent' which was a brilliant match A sphere made from puffed gluten, filled with smoke and topped with cream, a langoustine tartare, almond cream and some osetra caviar at The Alchemist in Copenhagen The A5 Wagyu Sando at NYC’s Sip & Guzzle Chef David’s A5 Wagyu topped with osetra caviar at Cote NYC. My post on this dish got a number of haters, I might mention all haters who never tried this… the saltiness of the caviar worked well with the fat of the Wagyu, and it was a perfect single morsel of ‘land & sea’show more
